  1. There is no way in a MILLION, ZILLION, QUABILLION years I would ever want a child to go with me on BF. It's too dangerous, too many people that you can't trust, and just why? Why take a child? I mean I'm always shopping for children, so I wouldn't want to take any with me. I'm so concentrated on getting what I want and getting out, that having to worry about the safety of a child would just be too much on top of the madness and crowds. I go every year with my mom (I'm 36). Maybe if I had a daughter I'd take her when she was around 16 and then we could start the BF bonding process. :-) I always just feel sad for the really little kids being pulled out into the cold weather at whatever AM time the stores open. Surely they'd rather be home in their warm beds sleeping? If I didn't have a babysitter I just would do my BF shopping online that year. I'd put the child's comfort and safety above braving the crowds. It's pretty crazy around here on BF though, even in the mountains of rural Western MD. It's fun for me to go with my mom, I just don't think it would be fun with a child. Just my own opinion of course. Everyone is different.
  2. 2 states here as I am on the border of WV. So we start at Keyser, WV and end up in Cumberland, MD. We're creatures of habit and generally do the same loop each year.
  3. Just bought a Fuji Finepix 1500 from Newegg and it came to $161 including shipping--no tax. Cheapest price for that camera. TWELVE times optical zoom! Can't beat that for the price. I was going to get a camera on BF but they just don't have the optical zoom that I wanted. To me that is the most important thing.
  4. My opinion? Leave the kids at home. I stand in line FREEZING here in the mountains of Maryland and it's just not fair to the small children to stand in line outside a store for hours. There are always sales around Christmas. Nothing would be worth me going out and making my child freeze. If I wanted something that bad then I would pay a babysitter. I mean not only is it frigid but it's dangerous. So many people pushing and shoving and running and so many strangers around. I go with my mother every year and it astounds me that some would bring children with them. Kids don't have the patience for waiting in lines like adults do. Heck even adults don't always have the patience. I understand that there are sometimes special circumstances that make it possible for a person to go BF shopping only if they take their child with them. I get it. But if that were me personally then I would just not go. I'm the bargain queen. I kind find a good deal BF or not. And if I didn't have my laptop then I would go to the library and do some online shopping and use some promo codes. I know the people that take their kids will not like my post but I just think that if you live somewhere that is really cold and you have to get your kids up at 3am to get to Kohls at 4am, then you should just stay home. On a side note I do think that older kids, says 10+ are okay to bring out early if they are well behaved. And all kids are fine with me after say 8-9am.
  5. I am so lucky I guess. I live in a rural area and sure we have the big stores and malls but I never have to line up to get a BF deal at all. And camping out already---that is NUTS. I would never miss my Thanksgiving day with my family so I could stand in line and freeze. I know to some people it's the experience of it all, but WOW----it's still crazy.
  6. Our Big Lots is pretty nice and I always find good deals there. I live in a very low crime area though.
  7. Ours doesn't sell furniture like that, but it's HUGE. I mean they expanded it gigantically and it was already a mall anchor store and big. They always have great sales!!! I wonder why so many names for the same store? I couldn't imagine my Bon-Ton switching names to a different one....to me it'll always be the Bon-Ton no matter what. lol
  8. I'm interested. We have a really nice one 5 miles away and we do a lot of shopping there!
  9. Wow, I didn't know they had 2 names! You learn something everyday. They usually have some awesome deals. Guess we might have to wait to get the circular.....
  10. Wow, that surprises me.....lol We usually don't go there on BF but I'm always interested to see all of the area stores sales before I say no to a store totally. Still surprised there is no talk of the Bon-Ton. It's the biggest anchor in our mall, then Sears and Pennies.
  11. My Super Walmart doesn't close on BF at all...so there is no line waiting outside. We all get right in and they have everything ALL over the store on pallets wrapped in plastic. So as a group we split up and stand near the things we want the most.....then when it's time to open them all it gets a little crazy. The store is huge though and the pallet locations never make any sense.....a lot are over in the food section. Do you all get right in your store too? Or do you have to wait outside?
  12. Anyone know anything about either of them? I know some area's don't have the Bon-Ton, but it's a huge anchor store in a lot of malls......it rivals JC Pennies, that sort of store. And Big Lots???? No word on them? TIA:fluffy:
  13. I don't have one around me but I've ordered online from the before, I too was wondering if you can get these deals on their website on BF?
  14. My husband will go shopping with me sometimes, but he HATES the thought of BF shopping. Anyway, he's always hunting that day anyway....I go with my mom, it's our tradition---good mom, daughter bonding time. This year should be interesting as my sister and brother are joining in the fray of things with us. I told my husband that one day when my mom can't go(I hate even thinking of that), that he would HAVE to go with me.....he will, and he'll like it....lmao Or he'll at least act like he likes it. Marriage is about compromise. So it won't kill him to go for one morning a year. I would go without your wife......absolutely. I don't understand why she wouldn't want you to go.....you are a grown man, if you want to go you should go...unless it's a huge financial burden........
  15. I live in a low crime, rural area and I always just use cash. I just prefer it. This year I won't be taking as much money, I already have 342 presents bought. Just need to finish up my DH....Probably have about $400 and my debit card for back up just in case. But I never use it. LOL
