  1. Can't you just ahhh... stand in line like everyone else... being lazy doesn't always get you the best deal. I don't think it would be fair to people you wake up early but that is just me!
  2. We are a strange family. We have Christmas cookies for breakfast on Christmas morning. It just sort of started a few years ago when the kids were really little. After opening all the gifts, the kids are usually anxious to get them out of the box and play with them. Dh and I get so busy doing all that, we just grab something quick and easy and that is usually cookies. Over the years it has just gotten to be a tradition. In my opinion, cookies aren't much different than donuts, so why not. Besides, its only once a year. We have a big meal later, so its no biggie.

That sounds like something we will do with our son when he is older. We have a busy Christmas Day! Who doesn't like Christmas cookies anyway!?!

  3. With all of my free samples and cheap deals rolling in all year long... yup we get him a $10 gift card to Stewart's (gas station/ice cream store). We have one main mailman and one fill in guy so I call the post office to make sure he is working when I leave his envelope.
  4. I think it depends on what you can do. We switch up the 3 major holiday's.

My mother does Thanksgiving. She is able to serve us all family style at her dining room table. Usually there is in the range of 10-13 people.

My sister does Christmas, and usually there is 9-10 of us. She cannot accomdate us all at her table, so we do a buffet style meal. Then pick a seat wherever you can get one between her kitchen and living room (which are open and connected).

I usually do Easter. In the past I always could accomodate the 10-13 people in my dining room. So we all had it sit down- family style. This year we are in a much smaller place (about 1/2 the sq footage). If I continue to do Easter, it will have to be buffet style (I have no dining room now, and my eat in kitchen is not large enough for everyone).

Personally, I prefer sit-down, family style meals. Just had a funny thought, when we do our holiday meal at my inlaws I always refer to it as "grab n' growl". There is never enough room for everyone to sit- anywhere, and never enough food. Always baffles me because it's always the same # of people every year, so it should be better planned.

LOL that is funny. My DH and I always fight because "we make too much food" I would rather have too much then not enough!

  5. We are having a few extra people for Thanksgiving this year. A few extra people in our little 900 sq ft house it a lot extra! Should we do buffet instead of sit down? What do you do at your home? BTW I refuse to do a kids table... I always hated that when I was a kid!
  6. Thanks! I used both of the codes (on separate orders). I got my DH and my dad fleece lounge pant bottoms shipped to the store for $6.75 each! I gave the code to my DH too so he can order something for Mrs. Santa if he so chooses :)
  7. FWIW, Horizon is not a brand I buy. I'm not a fan of their "organic" practices, and there's been a boycott of them for a while now.

Check this link out for the details:

Yes, I believe the ultra-pasteurization process is what allows for the monthslong expiration date.

True (I refuse to buy that brand and organic valley who is not as corupt but they don't have as many checks and balances since they are so big) but I would love to find that deal in case of a natural or not so natural disaster.

  8. www.naturalbabies.com

But I'm one of those weirdos who uses cloth diapers. Diapers.com has cloth too, something to look into.

Me too! We use the bumgenius diapers which are also one size fits 10lbs-40 lbs. We invested $400 and we can use them for our next child too! We do a load of diapers every 2-3 days (we have 24 diapers)

  9. I would love to get a part time job but my husband's current work schedule is too full. He doesn't get home until around six and we live 20-30 minutes away from stores that would hire seasonal help. Plus sometimes my DH has to work late with little to no notice because he is the computer guy. Weekends are too busy too! I do ChaCha, surveys and mystery shopping on my own free time to bring in extra cash
