  1. how quickly do you guys think these things are selling... in other words do you think id be safe to wait until late tmrw for the blu ray and dvds?

    tThanks

Not sure when/if they'll be gone by then, but I'm pretty sure you'll be ok. Lots of good prices on BR, but the $2.49 S/H for EACH movie really kills the deal and you're not able to select in store pickup. :(

  2. You really never know when you'll have to line up. The best thing to do if you don't live too far is make runs over to BB and check out the line. The first year I went (2005) I didn't have to get in line until 1am, but the 2nd year it was 8pm, 3rd 4pm.. It seems to get more and more popular every year. Last year I was out there at 3pm and was about 40th in line, but I didn't get a thing I went for, but my friend got what he was looking for. We then headed over to fry's electronics and on the way back, we stopped by another BB around 2pm and they had all of the doorbusters and they still rang up as the doorbuster price too, which I believe is only valid until 1pm. I was so ticked off I waited in line at the first one for 14hrs. We now have about 6 best buy's within 30 minutes of my house, so I just go from store to store until I find a short line, but I won't have to worry about it this year, because they don't have a thing worth waiting in line for. They've had the same or better deals than BF over the last couple months. The $229 Gateway netbook I got from BB 2 days ago w/ 6 cell battery is a better deal than this $179 HP netbook and I didn't have to wait in line for 14-36 hours like others are going to do. Black friday is getting more and more popular and the real deals are getting more and more scarce. The first year I went to BB for BF, they had a $150 desktop package. It was $189 the second, and $299 last year. Some TVs have been coming down in price, but the 32" HDTV for $299 on BF has been $299 for most of the last two months. Oh well, guess I'll check out target or walmart this year.
  3. I don't think anyone will be waiting in line since it is available at this price in store right now.

I think there's some that just wait for the T-day paper and don't know any better. There's a sucker born every minute. Everyone will scoop the "doorbusters" up, even thought they're all pretty much crap this year.

  4. Maybe we've been lucky, but our family has had an HP laptop and 2 eMachines desktops for 3 years now and we've never had any trouble with them. I have however had lots of trouble with Gateways and the Acer I bought also 3 years ago.

I've had a few emachines desktops form BB BF sales and they've worked great for $150-$190 pc's. I was impressed that they had such high quality components in them.

  5. I'm new to the site and to black friday in general. This item has the "early bird" symbol and says it's only available for a limited time. Can anyone clarify that for me, i.e., what times it will be available? Thanks, and happy shopping!

Best buy stores open at 5am on Friday and depending on where you live, you may need to wait in line for approx 12-36hrs. You'll get a ticket for any "doorbuster" items like this laptop and I believe you have until 1pm to claim any item you have a ticket for and if you don't, it will go back out on the shelf.

  6. I'm still fairly surprised they haven't dropped the Dynex 32" down to $246 to match Target and Walmart. Nobody will be fooled into thinking Dynex is higher quality then Emerson and Westinghouse, so I'm quite surprised there hasn't been a drop in price yet. They must be banking people will buy their tv at Best Buy anyway, regardless of cost compared to Walmart.

I feel sorry for all of the people that are going to wait in line for the $299 32" Dynex when they can buy 3 models right now for $299.

  7. I beg to differ, I have owned HP Laptops for 6 years now, a new one each year. NEVER have I had any issues with any of them. I recommend them to everyone I know and buy them for clients when they are looking for a laptop and NEVER have a had a issue with them. There customer service is second to none and are always willing to go the extra mile for me.

    To each his own.

Good to know at least HP has one happy customer. I've bought two HP craptops. Got the $379 core solo DV6000 BB BF special a couple years back and the sound went out after a year and the battery wouldn't last more than 1hr 15min. Bought another HP DV6000 from BB for $679 and had to have BB send it to HP twice for a Mobo replacement. :(

  8. Hmmm. BB just released their "secret sale" carp. What do you guys think, should I go pick up a $299 32" Dynex HDTV now or camp out in line for 13hrs. and get one for $299 on BF??? Decisions, decisions....
  9. If this was any other brand other than HP, I'd camp out for one. HP quality sucks! Many deals out there now and over the last two months seem better than any BF "specials" :( What happened to BB having Toshiba on BF? Like the $250 celery 3 years ago? Looks like I'm gonna do most my shopping online this year.
  10. I am disappointed in the tv selection. no lcd tv in the 52 + size' date=' I will have to wait until :( they go on sale when the new models come in[/quote']

I was disappointed in the TV selection too. Looking for a 32" for the bedroom and the cheapest one is a $299 Dynex which was on sale within the last couple months for $299. I'm hoping that they come out with some good last minute additions like they have the last few years. I want to see a better deal on a NON HP netbook too! I can't believe the best BB could do was $179 for a Compaq netbook when Officemax is gonna have an acer netbook for $149!

  11. Not too crazy about the deals that were just posted. The only hope is that they do what they usually do which is post a few secret items the night before. That's where the usual $229 laptop and $199 desktop come in. They are never announced on the printed ads.

Do not dismay my fellow Best Buy Tent City Buyers, the best deals are still coming.

I believe the emachines bunldles between $150-$200 are always in the regular ad , but not the cheap laptops. Maybe $299 is the best we'll see for a desktop bundle.

  12. Thank goodness I don't have to worry about standing in line at BB. I can almost get most of these deals at Costco now:eyepoppin The w/d deal at sears is the best thing going right now for BF.

I hear that. I can go to Costco right now and walk out with a 32" 720p lcd for $399 or 42" 1080p lcd for $699. I figured we'd see a 32" from BB for about $350, not to mention another desktop for $150-$200. What a joke. They better redeem themselves with the last minute deals.

  13. Don't know what BF will bring, but just went to Costco the other day to check out some tv's and they had some AWESOME DEALS! :D

    Vizio 42" plasma 720p $699

    Westinghouse 42" lcd 1080p $699

    Westinghouse 32" lcd 720p $399

That's all I can remember off the top of my head, but I figured those are the prices I might find on BF this year.

  14. You might be able to get some in-store credit if you take it back after Christmas claiming it was a gift or something. Last year my bro bought me a Phillips upconvert DVD player for $49.99 and I took it back without a receipt in January and got $69.99 (current price @ the time) in store credit. It wasn't part of the BF sale though, so I'm not sure how they'll handle something like the printer. If you get turned down by one BB, go to another.
  15. This is gonna be the laptop that's $230 for black friday. They changed the sku/product number by one, so people can't price match, get angry they just bought a computer a week ago and now it's $470 off, etc. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8547824&type=product&id=1188560179362

Here is the specs for the one on BB.com, the product code is off by one (listed below is Toshiba A135-S7404)

  16. The special doorbusters suck except for the $230 lappy. You can never go wrong with cheap, new computers, even if there are a lot of people that are gonna flame it for not being able to play games on it.

Some of the stuff is available for the same price now, like the HDD and the Sharp 19" lcd tv. and the olympus DC is only $10 more!

Anyway, I think they have another surprise for us, because at the end of the link if you change the "2" to a "3", you get this message "hold for thanksgiving weekend sale". Change it to a 4 and you get this page does not exist.

The Black friday tv's are "limited quantity". Sorry, but you'll have to wait in line like the rest of us. :)
