  1. Checking in for May. May has already been a wetter month than April was around here. The grass is growing like the weeds it is!!  This month I’m going to a Duran Duran concert with one of my sons, last month we went to see John Mellencamp. I’ve been to more concerts the last few months than I have been to in years. It has been a blast though.  I had forgotten how fun a live concert is, but they are way more expensive than they used to be!!

  2. I can’t believe we are almost all the way through April already, almost a third of the year gone by.  Just a little closer to Black Friday. I’m hoping for a much better one than the last few years, which I’m doubtful is going to happen. When I say “a much better one” I’m talking about the in-person shopping. Shopping online just doesn’t feel like Black Friday to me. I miss the days of rushing to the store, standing in line to get in (yes, I said it!!  LOL!!), trying to be the first to pick through the movies and games, rushing off to join another line to get the computer, tv, watch, whatever was on someone’s list that yeah. (Big Sigh). Anyone else prefer in person to online shopping?  Last year I bought a Ninja Foodie Toaster Oven Air Fryer online to pick up in the store at Kohl’s because I could get it with crossover stacking coupons and extra Kohl’s cash. Well a little while later I get an email saying my order was canceled because it was out of stock at the store, and since then, out of stock online too. Well, the next day I’m up bright and early, ok middle of the night, heading to Tulsa and to Kohl’s for a couple of other things, and when I got inside the store there was a stack of that oven right there on the floor.  So, not sure why my order was cancelled when they obviously had them, but that’s why I like in-person shopping, I know what I’m able to get right then and there and not think I’ve got something and then find it isn't so.

  3. March check in.

  4. Finally checking in for January. It’s cold and sloppy weather here in Oklahoma.   A week ago we got our second snow for the winter and that hadn’t fully melted off our yard and then freezing rain last night through this morning.  Haven’t seen any of the flurries my phone keeps telling me we are having….YAY!!!  It at least is supposed to get up to 41 today and then progressively a little warmer each day until Friday, up to 56 degrees!  I am NOT a winter weather person at all. I hate hauling in firewood and keeping a fire going 24/7 to help cut down on the electric and gas bills and I really don’t like having to bundle up to stay warm.  I should live somewhere where it stays warm all the time!!  Here’s hoping to a warmer February.

  5. I can’t believe it’s almost the middle of December already.   It doesn’t seem like it’s already been almost three weeks since the worst Black Friday shopping I think I’ve ever experienced!!   It just really didn’t feel like Black Friday at all.  I went in Kohl’s first and was in there for about 15 minutes, grabbed the pan set I was after and went to check out and didn’t even have to wait in a line AT ALL!!  That was a first for Black Friday at Kohl’s. No line at Walmart or Target either.  Yeah, sounds weird to gripe because there were no lines to wait in, but that’s how I judge how good the deals are that day!!  LOL!!  The only things I bought that day were the men’s Wrangler jeans at Walmart for a gift for my dad, the pan set at Kohl’s because they were needed to replace a set of 20 year old pans on their last breath and a lightning cable that I needed.  THAT WAS ALL!!!  The saddest shopping day ever😭

  6. I haven’t been to JCP the last couple of years. The last time I went they said they had ran out of coupons and we weren’t even that far back in line. Plus once we were in the store they had the upstairs exterior doors locked and made you exit into the mall or out the downstairs door, it was a kinda weird way to do things.

  7. Well, March is gone and left my state devastated by deadly tornadoes.  Major damage in the capital city and my little hometown was devastated and I have a family member that lost house and everything with deaths in both places.  I’m still trying to process everything I witnessed while there yesterday.  If you have been directly impacted b a deadly tornado or any natural disaster then you probably know and if you haven’t I pray you never are.

Anyway, happy April everyone.  How ironic that the weather has been beautiful the last 2 days since the tornado.

I’m so sorry about that for your family. Tornadoes are truly devastating. My sister-in-law and her husband had their house hit twice when they lived in Missouri. The first tornado completely blew their house away.  Contents with their names on them were found hundreds of miles away.  When we went to help with cleanup, seeing the devastation in person was awful. We were picking clothes off the barb wire fence hoping to find something salvageable, but most of them were loaded with insulation from the house. There was a mattress in a tree, way up in the tree!  They built back and got hit again about a year later and lost their barn that time and just a few shingles on the house, they moved away from there after that.

  8. April Check-In. Can’t believe I have remembered this long!!  We had some of those crazy high winds here for a couple of days. Friday was so beautiful temperature wise but those winds were insane and we lost power for a couple hours from a tree falling on the lines. Power came back on just a few minutes before it got dark. I was so glad because I didn’t want to dig out all the candles and flashlights.

  9. Happy March! My daughter, Kendall, finished up her luge season this past weekend, culminating in Youth Nationals, the National Championships. She was supposed to race in her age group, and her coach bumped her up to the next age group, to make it a challenge rather than a gimme. She placed 6th out of 12. She is 13, racing against 14-16 year olds who are older, bigger, and more experienced than her, and we are so proud of her hard work this season! Per her coach, she will likely be promoted to the next level team when team selection is released on May 1, setting her one step closer to becoming a future Olympian. I'm going to need a LOT more deals, if we're going to afford this, lol.attachicon.gifIMG_20230305_130147616_BURST001.jpgattachicon.gifDSC_6990%20(2).jpgattachicon.gifdsc_6785.jpg

Congrats to Kendall!!!  Yeah, you probably will need lots of bargains…lol!
