JCPenney Black Friday plans including return of snow globes!
marathonshopper replied to Brad's topic in 2024
Thanks for the confirmation of the character. My mind has been swirling since I read that it was a beloved Christmas character, trying to figure out which one! Lol! I have to admit I haven’t even gone to Penney’s the last couple of years, since my mom passed away. Mom always wanted to go in there and buy the grandkids a new coat for Christmas. I’m thinking the lure of a new snow globe might just get me back though! -
Got my prize today and it is a nice one and supports a terrific cause which makes it even better!

Happy October! Hope you stay safe and prayers for sure for everyone affected by the storm.

So excited to still be in the running, now if I can remember to post next month too!! LOL!! Congrats to all who have made it this far!

Checking in for September, boy has this year flown by! Not much planned for September so it’s probably going to be a big boring this month. Bo peep, I’m sorry to hear about your mom. My mom has been gone for almost two and half years now and it’s still hard. She was my Black Friday shopping buddy and fellow Christmas lover. I have tried to keep all her favorite traditions going too and it helps!

Checking in for August. My sons and I drove from Oklahoma to Wyoming to visit my father-in-law this week. We’re having a good visit and I’m sure time to head home will come way too quick. Hoping to score some huckleberries tomorrow at a farmer’s market. Later in the month I’m going to Tulsa to a Rick Springfield concert with my cousin, looking forward to that too. Hope everyone has a good August.

Checking in for July. Hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th.

June Check-in. My allergies are finally somewhat better, but sometimes it seems like you trade one issue for another. Several weeks ago I had volunteered with unloading, sorting and passing out a food pantry truck, something I do all the time, but this time I did something to my back and started having back spasms that kept going for a couple of weeks. That’s mostly better now, unless I really overdo it then I start to feel it again.. I hate feeling like I’m falling apart!! Hoping June is a better month for me.

I get to see Rick Springfield in Tulsa in August! My cousin bought tickets for us to go for my birthday, which is in August, and surprised me with a Meet & Greet. I’m so excited!! I saw him on my 18th birthday in Tulsa many, many years ago, this time I get to see him on his birthday. I agree on needing the 80s body back to match the music!! LOL.

Checking in for May. May has already been a wetter month than April was around here. The grass is growing like the weeds it is!! This month I’m going to a Duran Duran concert with one of my sons, last month we went to see John Mellencamp. I’ve been to more concerts the last few months than I have been to in years. It has been a blast though. I had forgotten how fun a live concert is, but they are way more expensive than they used to be!!

I can’t believe we are almost all the way through April already, almost a third of the year gone by. Just a little closer to Black Friday. I’m hoping for a much better one than the last few years, which I’m doubtful is going to happen. When I say “a much better one” I’m talking about the in-person shopping. Shopping online just doesn’t feel like Black Friday to me. I miss the days of rushing to the store, standing in line to get in (yes, I said it!! LOL!!), trying to be the first to pick through the movies and games, rushing off to join another line to get the computer, tv, watch, whatever was on someone’s list that yeah. (Big Sigh). Anyone else prefer in person to online shopping? Last year I bought a Ninja Foodie Toaster Oven Air Fryer online to pick up in the store at Kohl’s because I could get it with crossover stacking coupons and extra Kohl’s cash. Well a little while later I get an email saying my order was canceled because it was out of stock at the store, and since then, out of stock online too. Well, the next day I’m up bright and early, ok middle of the night, heading to Tulsa and to Kohl’s for a couple of other things, and when I got inside the store there was a stack of that oven right there on the floor. So, not sure why my order was cancelled when they obviously had them, but that’s why I like in-person shopping, I know what I’m able to get right then and there and not think I’ve got something and then find it isn't so.

I love the Hallmark Dream Book, apparently, because my tree no longer holds all of my ornaments. My Christmas tree is a Disney tree and even though it is only 7 1/2 feet tall it’s over 5 feet across the base and holds a lot of ornaments. Thanks for the scans!!

Yay, it’s April!! Hopefully the major brunt of winter is through and spring is really here.

Happy Easter! Hard to believe it’s the last day of March.

Just read the article about JoAnn. I would really hate to see them close, they have a nice selection for a lot of different crafts. I’m the type of person that likes to see things in person before buying most of the time.
