  1. The freebies section is what directed me to GD in 2005. Unfortunately, the freebies just aren't there like back then. Especially the past few years I've noticed less and less freebies. It's sad. Would there be a good place to post a freebie...like maybe a Miscellaneous forum?

I agree with you.I like to see actual free stuff, not just junk like coupons.

I don't want to have to use facebooj to get freebies.I want to just do it online--not have a bunch of junk show up on my timeline.

  2. Do you do this? How do you feel about it? Do you like drawing names or playing Secret Santa? I am somewhere in the middle. It is not the highlight of the season for me like some people I know, nor do I loathe it like others I know.

We drew names at work. Everyone was given card to write three items they'd like in the $10range and then you pick one thing from the card you draw. We drew last week so we could shop on BF; those who've been there longer said it's a fun thing every year. We were discussing what to write (I was only temping last year and didn't get in on it). The people who've been there a few years said 'fun socks' 'hand lotion' 'candles', things like that. Sometimes they go out and try to find the corniest gift, something funny. One girl said she wrote chapstick and Target giftcard, 'cause you know, if someone's gonna spend $10 I'll take a gift card and I can buy something for myself" but she said it kind of rude, like "I don't want some crap that you guys would pick". So of course, I drew Her card. I was REALLY tempted to wrap a ten dollar bill around a chapstick and throw it at her with a sarcastic wish for the holidays. But I decided maybe that was overreacting a bit....ha ha.

So, what do you think? Is it rude to ask for a gift card in a gift exchange? I was thinking it was going to be fun to get someone a little gift; but maybe that is because I don't have many people to buy for and I enjoy finding and wrapping little things for people. If we are all going to just exchange ten dollars, what is the point? In general I don't have a big problem with gift cards; though I appreciate a "Thank you, here's what I Bought" afterward. And I know, a gift is a gift, supposed to have no strings attached, but that's not how I was raised. I was raised you better send a thank you or you may never be gifted again and I gotta say, it has taken me many years to realize that my husband's family believes saying 'thanks' when you open a gift is all that is necessary.

I hate gift cards because then everyone knows exactly how much you spent--reccieving them is okay, but i like to get bargains when i buy gifts.

  3. there is a lot of cute stuff at Dollar tree.seriously.they even had dvd's of old movies like Little lord fauntleroy and cartoons, like davey and Goliath, bible stuff and other classic cartoons.plus newer movies..you can get a lot of cool stuff for all of them easily, and stuff for their parents too.Big lots is good too.
  4. Well, I joined probably around the same time, and I haven't gotten diddly squat from them.

I've gotten 2 survey offers, but when I get there, I'm not qualified or they're full...

So, congrats on earning some cash from them.

I kind of feel like the surveys places I've signed up for have blackballed me somehow... Quite the dry spell going on...

same here.i have points from lightspeed.

  5. I have a question-Are those of you who are winning using mutiple email addresses? I don't have the time/energy to open more than one account, but I never win and am thinking there's gotta be more that people are doing to be so lucky.

not for the same contest, because in case you win twice, you would have to reveal you were "multiplying",unless you used someone else's address.

  6. :yup: That would be nice. I do see that they now have a red mp3 player for 175 points, fwiw. And a set of Sennheiser headphones which are a great brand (don't know about this specific model tho).

Okay, so what do you guys think, I have enough again for another DVD, do I get:

    A) ALF - My kids have never seen it, I watched it and loved it when I was younger, and I would probably still like it. I think they have 4 different seasons available. I am sure I won't remember exactly what happens each episode since it's been at least 15 years since I last watched ALF. I'd probably start getting Season One.

    B) Greys Anatomy - I like Greys Anatomy, but have seen many of the episodes, not sure which ones, but I've seen them. My oldest dd also likes Greys Anatomy.

So vote, please, which should I get? :)I have the Sennheiser headphones;they're very nice.

    TIA

I have the Senheiser headphones;they're very nice.

  7. Site is now up.

    Rules: http://pepsistuff.amazon.com/gp/pepsistuff/rules.html/ref=ps_hm_rules

Contest runs now through the end of the year.

There is a NPN aspect where you can send your address and they will send you 4 free codes. No SASE needed. So if you do enough, this could be another one of the McDonalds Monopoly deals where you can get stuff at discounted prices. For example, a DVD is 90 points. Assuming 1 point per code (although they may give you codes with more points - we don't know yet), you'd need to send 23 envelopes. At 41 cents per stamp, thats $9.43 for a DVD. Similarly, around $6 for a CD.

    Point Values:

20 or 24 oz. bottle: 1 pointWhat establishments have codes on their fountain cups?

    1 or 2 liter bottle: 1 point

    8-pack or 12-pack of cans: 2 points

    24-pack of cans: 4 points

    6-pack of 24 oz. bottles: 6 points

32 or 44 oz. fountain cup: 1 point

    Points Needed:

    MP3 download: 5 points

    Unbox TV download: 12 points

    Music CDs: 60 points

    DVD Movies: 90 points

    Electronics: starting at 45 points

Apparel & More: starting at 50 points

You can also use your points for contest entries. They have a huge number of prizes for that as well.

What establishments have P:confused:epsiStuff codes on their fountain cups?

  8. we put ours up on Black Friday.

we take it down after the EPIPHANY - THREE KINGS DAY---

Three Kings Day is always celebrated 12 days after Christmas. In 2007, this holiday falls on a Saturday, Jan. 6

Also known as the Epiphany, Three Kings Day is a Christian celebration that commemorates the Biblical story of the three kings who followed the star of Bethlehem to bring gifts to the Christ child.

That's when you should take them down.too often people think the tree is just for putting gifts under, then just discard it after they are gone.

  9. My daughter is 10. She still loves dolls. Do you think she is getting too old for one of these, or would this be something she would still play with for awhile.

No!I bought one for myself, and you can get them to look like yourself, your mom or any other relative as a child.it';s an heirloom.and you can get clothes at Gymboreeand babygap that are really cute on them. The dolls also make a great decorator item--just dress them up for each holida=y!

  10. I ordered a catalog and DD 4 has looked at it everyday and is telling me she wants a doll that looks like her. If I order before Oct 7 I can save about 30 or 35 dollars but it still expensive. So, has anyone here gotten these dolls for the DD's or family memebers, is it worth the cost? Does the child play with it? Did you get matching outfits? Does anyone have any better codes or coupons or suggestions. Thanks!!

I have one and they are worth the cost. They are more diverse in appearance than the American girls dolls, and infant newborn size clothes fit them(just watch the styles),so yoiu don't necessarily have to buy the clothes from the catalog, which can save you lots of cash!
