  1. Which LCD TV at Fry's are you referring to? If it's that Emprex 32" for $499, no thanks, I'd rather stand in line for better quality. If their LCD TV is of the same quality that their LCD monitors are, they are terrible. I've looked at enough of them at Fry's in Atlanta, and honestly I wouldn't buy an Emprex anything......bottom of the barrel in quality. But I guess price sells over anything else, including quality.

that's ok, i understand that you wanted to wait for the TV at BB... we have different standards in term of prices. to you it might be worth it, to me it might not be...

  2. What states don't have Target's? As long as there's a Target store in your state, you pay tax. The $540 TV also has no HD tuner. I also prefer Westinghouse as a brand. It is quite a good deal actually. The $540 deal is also a steal, but not quite as good obviously.

the ones at fry does have a tuner, and there's plenty states without a fry.

  3. What's the difference?

only 1 big difference that you'll notice. the lite has way better battery life than the regular DS... all these talk about looks, i won't care. i do however care that the battery life are much better on the lite. do some research on the nintendo DS forums, people are literally throwing away their old DS for the lite version :) i wouldn't buy it when it's like 20 bucks less than the lite version.

  4. what people have not realized is, you're not saving a few hundred bucks. for example one of the best deal we've seen is the 32" LCD from BB for 480... that's good.. but don't think you're saving a couple hundred bucks. what you really save? 60 bucks. why? cuzz there's deals going on right now for similar 32" LCD for 540 shipped. and if you happen to live in other state where you don't pay tax, you might be saving less than 60 bucks lol. cuzz tax of 480 is 33.6 bucks. that means you'll be in the cold for 7-10 hours to save less than 30 dollars... is it worth it? well minimum wage is about 8 bucks. so you can do the math :)
  5. I agree . Best deal so far.

Im also very impressed with CC's ad.

Are we reading the same CC ad? lol. most of the stuff are MIR and i'm talking about gigantic MIR (110 for a freaking vid card is rediculous MIR)... and FYI right now there's 2 deals going on for 32" flatpanel. both are 540 shipped... so this black friday i really really really have to see what's after BB and CC... hopefully comp USA, staple, OD, and fry will have something better.

  6. yea, last year i wanted a laptop and now that i have one, there isn't really anything i want to get except for DVDs and the Nintendo DS lite. BB does have a ds on sale on bf but it only comes in one color.... :yuck: so debating whether to wait in line for something that isn't a door buster....

the DS is regular, not the lite :)

  7. Honestly, the BB early bird deals, at least to my eye, are deals. $189 for a computer w/a 15" LCD? Granted, a 15" LCD isn't my cup o' tea, but since they're retailing for $120 or so, that makes the complete computer quite a deal for someone.

The 22" LCD......cheapest I've been seeing is around $320 or so...just wonder where you've been seeing 22" WS LCD's for $200 already. I know I've not seen any and I cruise lots of deal sites.

The laptop........just because it replicates the price for a bit better componentry doesn't make it a bad deal, just a repeat of a good deal.

i think there was quite a few, OD, CC, and costco to name a few... you must not be looking hard enough.

  8. You might be better off with the T6536 on closeout. But then again, you can go for the $189 PC and eBay the monitor for at least $50. That would bring it down to at least $139

who pay 50 bucks + shipping for a 15" when they can get a 17" at BB BF for 70-80? you know how much it cost to ship out a monitor?

i say wait and not get either. celeron D isn't that fast anymore... save up and get a core 2 duo combo for those dual core chips.

ofcouse who's gonna use the computer is the main quesiton... if it's not a tech savy person then it's ok... for you and me we'll always tries to upgrade, it won't work out for us.

  9. BB this year is a dud, the only deals i can see are

19" LCD = 130 something... ok deal, but dang, 19" WS? that's barely bigger than regular 17" cuzz it's WS...

32" westinghouse... ok good deal. but how to get one is gonna be a problem. i'm not gonna stand in front of the store at 8PM on thursday for this...

Laptop = same as every year before this

Desktop = same as every year before this

the 22" WS LCD = 200 might be ok... again just ok, not great... i think we had a few poping up at the same price before during this month.

i give up.... i'm just gonna wait for fry and see what's good. if nothing then i'll stay home this BF and avoid the crowd.

  10. oh yeah, and do have some luck when you wanna BB to replace anything on the laptop, it sounded so great when the sale you the warranty, when something actually breaks, see how they gonna weasel their way out of not paying you. it's just the way it is. if some thing break, buy the same thing from the same store and swap it, all the store gonna do is send it back to the manufacter for repair, it works for my friend's PS 2, he bought it like a month and the lazer stop reading, he lost the reciet, so that's what he did, they happily took it back.
  11. Thanks for the info. I may still keep the warranty, but its good to know I have a choice --the salesman was so pushy -- said no one had walked out of the store w/o an extended warranty on the laptop (I did decline all the others though--for the 200 emachine PC (not worth it) & the 18 DVD player. Think I will read my warranty. thanks again everyone. This is the best site!

any sales man see me and ask me to buy warranty like that, i'll just tell him "there's a 1st time for everything isn't it".

  12. laptop screen do poof out once it a while, i'm thinking of about 3 or 4 years average, some got their laptop for years without any problem, as for other stuff it's just like computer, the easiest thing to go out is the dam HDD because it get acess too much, other than that, i can't think of anything that can go out easily, the 2 years waranty is very "unusable" because the battery average life is 2 years, not 1. And it depends how you use it too, the battery usually holds about 1000 charge, so no matter how you think about it, it should last 2 years. Now if you wanna make money go on ebay and by old batteries :) and go back to BB make them give you the new ones (trade in) and sale the new ones on ebay for extra cash hahaha.
  13. Yes they were pretty much sold out before the store opened (tickets handed out in line at some BB's).

It's a decent price for a low end laptop but it's not that hot, this was 100x hotter.

yeah the dell's deal was good :), i had a high end laptop for 700 (P-M 1.6, 60GB, SXGA+ Screen, 512 MB RAM), it's actually a better deal than BB's 500, but look at it this way, you can't possibly get a 500 bucks brand new laptop like that now a day, that one need's upgrade, ram is gonna cost about 50 bucks, the HDD will be around 100, and the important thing is that it cost an arm to change the CPU (if that's even possible). I would just upgrade the ram and the HDD so it can be use as a multimedia machine on the go. As for mine, the nice thing is that i can use it for video and audio editing with the pentium chip and a big HDD. But if i have the chance i wouldda went back and go for the 700m instead of the 600m :(

  14. dam, he's good, clean out BB IMO, hehe fry had the plasma TV for 1300 no rebate though, it's 53" i think, they had the 65" for like 5000 bucks. Good job on the laptop, too bad i got one from dell or i wouldda jump on it. the 19" LCD is pretty cheap, i want one too but didn't have enough money, i went for the 17" instead, only 200 bucks.
  15. Natan, you must live in the very laid-back country! People near metro areas are much more aggressive on BF. The BB I went to, you will be lucky if your 3:00 wake-up can get you the 100th in line. Enjoy your BF good sleep all you want but it's an exception.

that sounds about right for the BB, fry, Comp USA, and walmart in my location, other stores if you can get their at 3 AM that would put you in the top 10 spot for sure.

  16. my place is so crowded, i went to fry at 5:30, there's about 400 people hanging around in a line wraping around the store, and if you know fry, it's not a small store, it's a wearhouse, so warping around it in the manner of 3 lines (it was 3 lines), and by 6:15 we finnally got our foot in the store since they open at 5:45 to let people in, ok i dind't get anything, but my friends got the 3Ghz P4 combo, and a couple of cold/hot watter cooler thing. Next year i'm not going to fry, if i do it'll be like 1AM cuzz this is not working out, i was trying to get a DVD player for 15 bucks, but this is so bad :(
  17. if your husband were to walked out, nothing wouldda happen, as the matter of fact, if he walked out with the whole store's memory section, the alarm would not go off, memory doesn't have barcode on them, they are all the same, the barcode on the box is just to ring up the price tag, i've bought so much memory so i know, hehe that's the reason they locked the memory up and only pull it out when you ask for them.
  18. i got 4 from staple and 1 from CC, over all about 100 bucks (a little more than 100) worth of rebate, man they better give me my money or i'm so going after them, i'm broke, my bank account only got 100 bucks left,
