Just a PSA - I just tried for the $45 cotton candy furby lightning deal and even though I pounced, I ended up "poor" on waitlist. I hovered over my computer while I cleaned my kitchen and I got the offer pop-up in about 5 minutes after it went off. Happy surprise.

Use a nice packet or two of hot chocolate (Ghiradelli makes makes a good one) and a candy cane.

Do you think these deals are in store only or available online at 8, 10 etc.

This happens to me constantly on jcp website. I spend a good amount of time deciding, ordering and when I finally go checkout, many things are out of stock, discontinued or backordered. That makes me so mad - the items should NOT be available to put into a cart unless they have them to to ship. Most items I get there go together (like bedding sets, home decor or a complete outfit) so it's moot if 1 or 2 things aren't available.

I got the TRU Great Big Christmas Book in the mail today - I live in PA.

This is really good to know - if $100 was tied up in the account I use for gifts, I'd be at a standstill!

Along with the general shopping tips - make sure to prep them on wearing sneakers, light layers (not fun carrying bulky coats) keeping snacks/drinks in the car and bringing your own tote/shopping bags. Also - don't drink too close before opening as no one wants to waste time in the potty that day :)

I was lucky - after trying several times to order online (think I broke my F5 button), I called and was able to order on the phone. Seconds afterwards, I saw the site was shut down. I'm grateful - I wouldn't be able to afford those things otherwise.

I just an OOS email on a Nintendo DS game I ordered. I bought 2, received one and now they may cancel the 2nd. I only go the them because they were 2 for $30 too.....
