  1. My Sims Kingdom for the Wii is actually $46.99 on Amazon's website, not $29.99. If it is really going to be on sale for $19.99, that would be an amazing deal! My bet is that whoever posted this meant the DS version, which is $27.99 now (was $29.99). I'm keeping my fingers crossed - I want the Wii version for DS.
  2. Thanks for the advice everyone. The insurance company is still go through the claim, so we haven't gotten funds to start replacing anything yet. We had approximately $7000 worth of stuff taken so it is taking a while to go through everything. Almost everything is replaceable. They took our safe though - checks, birth certificates, SSNs, wills & power of attorneys, savings bonds, auto title, and Iraqui and Korean money that my DH has brought back from overseas tours. They took stuff from every room in the house so it took several times walking through the house to figure out what all was missing. The sheriffs got prints but nothing has come back yet. The hardest part is going to use something and remembering that it is gone - especially the laptop. Thanks again!
  3.

My house was broken into and approximately 100 dvds and 70 video games were stolen. Our insurance coverage is for replacement cost, but the way they do it is give us the depreciated value first and then we use that to purchase the replacements and they reimburse us the balance after we submit our receipts.

My question is, since I will buying large quantities of dvds and video games, who online has the best prices and shipping costs. I am open to suggestions.

We actually did have a list of our movies and games, but of course it was on the laptop that was also stolen. They took about half of our movies, but luckily we are pretty anal and had them alphabetized and have a decent idea which ones are missing. They took every video game, so we are racking our brains trying to remember exactly what we had. The only reason we know how many were taken is the shelves on our entertainment center were full and we know how many each shelf holds.

We are also looking for a good price on an XBox 360. They took our XBox and the insurance company told us to upgrade to the 360.

Thanks in advance for your help! :cheesy:

  4. If you are looking to buy the Sandisk Sansa 1GB m240 at Best Buy for $34.99, Circuit City will have it for $39.99. It isn't showing up for Circuit City on the shopping list function, but I found it on the last page of the Circuit City ad scans. I know it is $5 more, but as it is the only thing I wanted at Best Buy, I'm willing to pay the extra $5 to order it online tomorrow and pick up later at Circuit City instead of dealing with the Best Buy mess. $39.99 still seems like a good price.
  5. My mom will be buying me a ladder for Christmas on Black Friday. So far in the ads the only one I've seen is the 13' Gorilla in the Home Depot ad. Anyone seen any others? Does anyone have any experience with the Gorilla? I'm in a new house and have never needed a ladder before, so I have no idea what I am looking for. Thanks!
  6. I bought a Creative last year and I love it. It isn't as pretty as the iPods, but I don't care. I have the $14.95 / month subscription to Napster to Go and add new tracks to my mp3 player daily for free. I save a ton of money over buying music track by track. To me I'd rather have a less cool looking player and get as much music I want. My daughter has an iPod and hates it because she can only afford to buy a few tracks a month for the price I pay monthly for Napster, and you can't use Napster to Go with an iPod. My daughter hasn't picked up her iPod in over a month - instead she sits at my desk and uses my computer to listen to music through Napster over my computer speakers. The only problem I have with Napster to Go is that you can only use two mp3 players with each subscription. I have one and my husband is getting one for Christmas. If I decide to get another player for my daughter I will have to buy another subscription.
  7. Yes, it is, but if you are buying 20 things, you are paying $20 for shipping. I think that Kohls shipping prices are awful, even when they are having a "99cent" sale. I love their clothes, but I always wait until they have free shipping over $75. That makes it worth it. IMO.
