  2. I keep them in our walk in closet until I wrap them, but when I wrap them, I put a CODE on each package that stands for this child or that. Like this year, I used the opposite names that they would have been named if they had been the opposite sex, then just put the first letter of that name on the package.

    Kevin = A for Ashley

    Chelsea = T for Timothy

    Nikolas = M for Molly

    Dawn = B for Benjamin

    Hubby (John) = L for Love

    the other daughter is not here at home, so hers and the son-in-law just have their own name on them.

    It works. And they never come to this site, so it doesn't matter that I post it all here. :g_laughin :g_laughin :g_laughin

  3. I know it will sound corny, but I want TIME.

    Actually, I asked my children, son-in-law and grandchildren to take the time to drive 200 miles each to have a family picture taken for me. My oldest lives 400 miles from home so I asked the kids here to set it up and meet her and the family half way to have a family picture taken for me. So I asked for time from each of my children and grandchildren, time devoted to doing something specifically for the benefit of MOM AND DAD.

    They say they are going to do it... we'll see.

  4. I know some people on another board I visit were trading them to each other. I never got any of them though. I sure wish I would have. With the teenagers and even the grandkids getting so much older now, it would have helped a bunch.

    I didn't know you could send away for them though. I'll have to do some of that next year.

    Thanks for the tip!!

  5. I went after work on Friday and got a doodlebear for 10.00. I went to a total of 7 Walmarts here in search of 2 carebears and 1 cabbage patch doll, but could not find one. I was really bummed! I'm glad someone was able to get one after the fact.

    If anyone would be willing to go and get me these things, I could mail out a money order for the cost plus the shipping. *****HUGE SIGH****

  6. I went to KMart last Sunday and got my oldest daughter a black hills gold watch on sale. Retail $170.00 - 70% off = 51.00. Not a bad deal! I was really please with that. I did not make it there today, but I am going tomorrow.

    Our stores are dingy too, but I tolerate that for the deals i can dig up. I just watch what I buy and check everything out really well before I make a final decision.

  7. Okay, I have been officialy notified that I have mandatory OT on BF!! UGH! So I now need to know what stores will be having sales that last through Saturday. I thought that it would be nice to have it all compiled into one thread so that it's easy to find and identify. Please list any you notice here.

    Thanks !!

  8. Brad,

    Please consider legal action. If the people that have been wronged over the years by this journalist - I am using this term liberally in this case - (if I remember correctly, one of the posts states that they have made fun of him for years) had all spoken up, journalists everywhere would benefit.

    Not only would the media outlets realize that they will be watched and will have to be prepared to answer for their own wrongdoings, but they will also have to be prepared to answer for their employees verbally, financially and legally. These employees have a great amount of power. They can slander someone, even by association, without a second thought. This could lead to better editing procedures and tougher choices of who may or may not be able to provide information to the public on more important matters (such as the war or 9/11 or what have you).

    Don't get me wrong, there are a great number of journalists that do an exceptional job of checking their information and supporting their conclusions, but in the end that is all it becomes. Their own conclusion. If a reporter could make a good case that the sky is green and support it with unsubstantiated facts, you would be surprised at what happened in the subsequent weeks. *S*

    I do not have my degree as of yet, but I am a senior print journalism major. I served as the editor of my high school paper for four year, my college paper for two years and served on the county paper here for four years. I still do part time work for a local paper. If I had put together an article like this one, not only would I need to have the proof available for the editor, I would have needed to meet with Legal prior to printing the story and my full name would have appeared. Someday, I will find the time to finish my degree but that's not the point here. The point is that this journalist, the editor, the publisher/production manager, and the station dropped the ball on their verification process and the site has suffered from Libelous Remarks that are TOTALLY not true. He has accused you of breaking the Truth In Advertising clause and this in itself could lead to legal action. Not by any of us that know you and your site, but by some flybynight that decides to jump the bandwagon.

    That is punishable by law and compensation could be a result, at the least it deserves a written retraction as well as an on-air retraction. Please do not let them get away with this as it will only lead to them doing the same to someone else in the future.

    Okay, off my soapbox now. *L*:gd_soapbo :gd_soapbo :gd_soapbo
