I haven't checked out QVC or HSN yet, but right now I am leaning toward the cookie deal. That sounds great. I looked at the website and it made my mouth water. Thanks everyone for the wonderful suggestions.

My brother lives on the west coast and is single. His wants are few and he never suggests anything that he wants for a gift. I can usually come up with a book or cd, but am at a loss this year. Do any of you have any favorite food places that you order from....like Harry & David's, etc. He always welcomes home cooked sweets, but I don't have the time or the inclination to do that this year. I would like to send him something, if I could know that it would be good. Help, please.

I got two $10 rebates today from Kingston/buy.com from cards that I ordered just a few days before Christmas and sent the rebate forms in promptly.

I went Saturday armed with coupons for the first time. I bought several Choxie bars and several bags of chips and didn't have any problem using the coupons. The nearest Target is 30 or so miles away, but I went back tonight. I bought 10 twelve packs of coke and used the $1 coupons. That makes them $1.75. How are some of you getting them for $1.50? I got some Covergirl and Revlon lipsticks (the ones that last all day). Covergirl was $1.98 tonight. Saturday it was $3.96. So it's 75% off now. Only certain shades though. My best deal was a piece of furniture called an "audio pier." It was on an endcap by itself and was marked down from over $100 to $27.48. I am not sure where I will use it, but I bought it. I still spent $163, but the original total was $220 something. I am probably adicted already.

Our Lowes had some long ones on clearance a couple of weeks ago. I paid $20 for a 5 ft. long one. I also saw some that look like that but fit in a corner on Amazon.com last week for $4.

I just ordered my granddaughters each a pair of Barbie slippers. If I ordered two at a time they came to $8.80 but by placing two separate orders they were $1.90 each.

I bought 4 for one restaurant in a town near me. We used one and gave one as a gift and I know it hasn't been used yet. Now that restaurant doesn't show up on the list in that town. Should we call before going to be sure they will still accept the certificate. They didn't act too happy when we presented it the last time and we were seriously overcharged so I am not sure we would go back there anyway.

There were three of us. But I didn't know how much their meals cost. I had never been there before. The noon buffet is only $5.50 and the evening one is just $6.50. I guess we should have tried it out anyway to be sure we would want to come back sometime and take friends. I bought 4 certs so we will go back with a group and try it. My husband isn't crazy about Chinese food so maybe I can find some gal friends to go with me.

We tried to use one today. The minimum order was $35 and it was buffet. The waitress said we didn't have enough people to have a $35 ticket so it could not be used. We asked if we could eat and just pay the $10 extra and she said no so we left.

Don't get the imitation ones. They are not nearly as good. I bought one pair of crocs and have worn them every day except Sunday for a couple of months. It's interesting that the dr. wants you to get three and rotate. I wonder why?? I have lots of foot, knee and back trouble and wore burkies for years and then got where I could not wear them and these crocs are absolutely wonderful.

They also had them at the DG store here. I got two for the granddaughters. They will have a ball with them.

I am so computer illiterate. Someone please tell me the pros and cons of a widescreen computer monitor. I have to buy one in the next few days and I don't want to make a mistake.

What's the advantages/disadvantages of widescreen?

I am looking for a good deal on a large (19 or 22") flat computer monitor. I don't even have to have it by Christmas, but do need it soon after.

I received the last of my order yesterday.

I got my trays but I have not received the salad sets that were ordered at the same time. I got e-mail confirmation that everything was shipped. The trays were shipped on the 6th and I got them several days ago. The two salad sets were supposedly shipped on the 7th, but I have not received them.

I figured out how to get the free shipping but it looks like the extra cards are just good at Brinker's. I don't know where there is a Brinkers or does it include Chilis??

How do you get the free shipping??

I've never dealt with them before either, but I printed the rebates from their website. I've never even been in one of their stores. I ordered on line and shipping is free. It looked simple or I wouldn't have done it.
