  1. I received inside information that the EB stores around Reading, PA will be posting quantity they have as they close on Saturday. I guess they figure that doing that should reduce any crowds or problems.

Gamestop in my town has been very nice about letting us know what to expect and when. This evening they told my dh that they couldn't tell her how many they had, but that if she came back at closing time, they could tell her then. She didn't make it back, but I drove by to check for a line at about 10:30 and only saw a few people milling about, so I got out to see what I could find out, and was quickly greeted by the group and informed that I was number 3, they had 6. I wasn't really planning on spending the night outside like that, but the weather isn't bad and I had relief help available. I just left my dh in line and went to the WM Supercenter across the parking lot where they have been saying for the last couple of days that they would have 5 and the truck would come in around 3:00 a.m. today, and they would just be up for grabs. Turns out the truck didn't show up, so they don't know if they will have any at all before Christmas. Guess it's a good think I took that #3 spot in the line.

There was a small group of college students waiting for 1 of the PS3,and they only have 22 What really stinks for those guys is that if they had been there before the store closed, they could have just bought it - they aren't holding them for a sale ad!

Looks like at 10:00 a.m. when the store opens my search will finally be over! Target Stores in the suburbs were beginning to have lines early in the evening. Our town is too small for a Target and WM both - just glad we have a Gamestop.

Good luck to all who are still looking!

  2. THIS THREAD is pretty much an "I have a wii" thread. It's in the technology section as there is not to be any discussion of buying/selling/finding wii's on the thread.

I must be confused then - I thought pretty much the whole point of this website was to FIND deals (gotta deal?). I understand not selling/buying as in auctions, but finding retailers with the merchandise we want is what this is all about.

  3. The WM ad out on Thur. advertised the wii system, for $249. In small print about the ad it said "available 12/6" - anyone know anything about this? Will they be generally available, as in, lots of them, or will just a few come in then? A sales assoc. in the dept. told me they had 9 coming in but didn't know what day. I'm in a small town, and WM is our only dept. store, no BB or anything, so I guess I'll check it out each day - good news is that it's only a 5 min. trip - in and out, and back home if no luck in 15 minutes.
  4. We were at Walmart around 2:30 looking around the store. My big hope was to score 2 IDogs. Well, we were looking around where the pallets were, and there was no big pallet of IDogs, but there was a big display in the middle of an aisle. They were the ones that are there every day. They were not in plastic and there were no instructions not to pick them up. So, I picked up two and put them in the back part of my basket, just for fun, and kept looking.

So, about 30 minutes later, they remove the display of IDogs and take it to the back, I guess. There were at least 20 IDogs that had been on display. I'm starting to feel a little guilty, but I figure if anyone asked I would tell the truth. Anyway, when the Blitz IDogs, come out, they start announcing there was only 12. I went to get in line for them to insure I would get at least one at the 10.00 price, and I did, but I couldn't ask for 2 with there being only 12. The blitz Idogs were in a black box, and the other Idogs I got where in white boxes.

Well, I put one of the white boxed ones up and go and check out. Sure enough, the white box Idog rang up 29.99. I pulled out the ad and showed the cashier and told her I got it from another shelf. She pricematched for me with no problem.

Was that an okay thing to do? I felt kinda guilty since they pulled the other Idogs off the shelves, but a.) I think it's kinda rotten to have surplus stock that you won't sell for the advertised price, when there is such a limited number (12_ of a highly advertised item, and b.) I didn't dig in any kind of plastic pallet before time and I just got it right off hte shelf. It didn't say not to put them in your carts.

    Was I okay?

I did almost the exact same thing, only the one I picked up was in the exact same spot as they had always been in the toy dept. There were no other pallets arounds with them, and only about 10 of them out (in white boxes), so I just figured it was the $10 one and WM didn't want to mess with making it a special. I went about stalking out the other items I wanted. Later when I went back into the toy aisle, I was told the I-dog I had was not the sale one, the sale ones were gone, but when I went to check out, and it rang up at the higher price, I played dumb and said "Isn't this on sale for $10?" - the cashier looked in the flyer and saw the ad, and immediately gave me the $10 price. I never did see the ones in the black boxes - were they different in any way? Hope my dh likes it - birthday and Christmas in the same week stinks when you're fourteen!

  5. If anyone sees a bf Dick's ad- please list it asap. My kids want Adidas and Nike track pants, and anything Under Armor (that almost never goes on sale!):D

    Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving!!!:gdlicklips:

UnderArmor does not allow retailers to put it on sale - you will probably NEVER find it on sale - I guess if you have the name people pay for you don't have to bargain!
