Response times from Outpost.com While this is a good deal (3 year warranty) I would still rather pay an extra $100 and buy a Dell 19" LCD for 2 major reasons. They are usually rebadged Samsung or LG LCD's which are some of the best in quality and reliability. Also Dell's 3 year warranty offers peace of mind. But if you're on a tight budget this is nearly impossible to beat.

Here is another option. Overstock sells GTA: San Andreas (PS2) for $46.99 plus $1.40 shipping. Submit a request in the Overstock.com Make Your Own Deal thread requesting a discount. You'll have comfort knowing you're buying the genuine product from a reputable merchant.

It could be a hijacked account and the seller hasn't responded to your e-mails. Unless you feel like throwing your money away, I would avoid this auction.

Still $199 for an extended warranty is EXPENSIVE considering that is 40% of the cost of your laptop! Ask yourself, would you pay $6,000 for an extended warranty on a new $15,000 car? I would hope not.

liane66, I think it's "hooey". BB employees are pressured into selling these extended warranties and have quota's to meet. It covers defective parts but if you were to accidentally spill coffee or drop the laptop, it will NOT be covered. Dell does offer these types of warranties but AFAIK BB does not. You should have up to 14 days to decide if you want to return the warranty or not.

That is a good deal although I've never heard of the brand and the response time is a little high. However $329 with $12.99 shipping is HOT :)

I've seen Office Depot, Office Max, CompUSA and CostCo have deals on slim jewel cases usually after rebate.

Yes they were pretty much sold out before the store opened (tickets handed out in line at some BB's). It's a decent price for a low end laptop but it's not that hot, this was 100x hotter.

Yesterday, MrsHoneybee and I visited the mall where parking was scarce. After 10 minutes of stalking people we finally found a spot near Nordstrom's women's lingere entrance We went to Bath & Body Works to use our free coupon which we received via snail mail. While we were there they had signs advertising any shower gel or lotion for $5/each (regularly $9). We picked up all shower gels about $65 worth of Country Apple, Sun Ripened Rasberry, Pearberry and Cucumer Melon. We also picked up our free gift. As if that wasn't hot, after we signed the credit card receipt (which we earned a 1% rebate on) the cashier handed us a $10 off $35 gift card!

Ok I found the specs here. Like most low end 19" LCD's it only has analog (no DVI - digital). A comparable Dell would be the Dell E193FP which has sold for $389 (November 4, 2004). If you want the best LCD with analog, DVI and comprehensive 3 year warranty I would look at the Dell UltraSharp 1905FP which can be purchased now for $436 after coupons!

Ok if you had purchased with a credit card they usually offer a FREE 1 year extended warranty :)

According to Chris at that Best Buy you have to turn in the old battery in order to get a new battery. There goes that idea!
