I think that Meijer still does layaway in our area. I was so pissed when Wal Mart got rid of their layaway. That was how we did the kids Christmas. Partly because it made it nice to go get it and have it bought and pay on it weekly and then also because we didn't have to hide it in the house and risk them finding it. I still can't believe they did away with it. I would think that layaway would be a big thing for a retail store like Wal Mart, Meijer or Kmart. But maybe I am wrong?
