When I have read reviews (CC and other sites) the RCA HDTV does not get as high marks as the Hitachi HDTV. Also, the Hitachi has a 3D comb filter which is a more advanced filter than the 3 line digital comb filter the RCA has. The Hitachi has a HDMI input where the RCA does not. I don't believe the RCA is energy star compliant, since it is not mentioned on the specs page, where as the Hitachi is energy star compliant. That being said, saving $275 is a lot of coin to save and buy an upconverting DVD player, etc.
