  1. I missed this one too since I checked it at 1:05 AM EST and it never got processed. But I did get one last time and it was full of some true crap, I think there should be a woot off soon, it has been quite awhile hopefully not this weekend when I'm out of town:fluffy:
  2. If your only route is the Sony Vaio then check this out http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&XID=O:vgn%2dcr190e%2fw:dg_cnetdf&kw=vgn%2Dcr190e%2Fw&lp=8198552921665157461&productId=8198552921665157461 I believe it is the same laptop as the specs would suggest, but the one you showed does have the 3 year extended warranty, which is worth the extra couple of hundred bucks.:) If you would rather pick it up in a store if there's a best buy near you... http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8404185&st=sony+vaio&type=product&id=1180743304505
  3. well I stand corrected, the word on the street is there will be an official SONY price drop around July 12th of $100 off the 60GB version at $499 and they will be introducing an 80GB version with a free copy of Motorstorm for $599. http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/47826 hmm to pick one up or not to pick one up that IS the dilemma.
  4. I heard they are planning to drop the price, but it has only been out for a little while so don't get your hopes up. They usually sell on ebay for significantly cheaper than in a retail store though so you may want to keep that option open.
  5. definitely avoid... http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff233201.htm
  6. The review you posted is for a different site, not sure if they are directly related because the site the original poster is talking about is http://gearxs-mall.us.com/ which I found some really hot deals on, but the catch is you have to spend at least $500. I'd really like to know if this site is legit, seems doubtful though.
  7. yes, but as I stated you do not need an HD tuner unless you want over the air transmissions via antenna. If you hook up the same basic non HD cable to your HD ready and HD with a tuner it will produce the same picture if it has the same specs with just the tuner being the difference. People don't realize you don't need a tuner... it's producing the same picture unless you want to buy an antenna to pick up HD channels.
  8. well it wouldn't look bad from standard cable but if you have HD cable then you don't need a built in tuner since that's basically for over the air transmissions of HD channels and even then you still need to buy a special antenna = not worth it to me. For things like gaming, HD cable, upscaling DVD players etc. you wouldn't need a built in tuner as they provide the High Def. This seems like a good deal, but never heard of the company, but from the reviews I read it looks like a good buy!
