  1. Photo 1: Sweetie, it's like I tell you every year. You have to spend money to save money...

Photo 2: These new victoria secret panties will be less restrictive than my old underwear, allowing me to get to those doorbusters even faster!!!

Photo 3: Look at all of those other shmucks in their camping chairs. Marion, I sure am glad we decided to camp out with our Sharper Image heated massage chairs...

  2. 1 c. shortening

    2 c. brown sugar, packed

    1 egg, well beaten

    1 c. molasses (or 1/2 honey and 1/2 molasses)

    4 c. flour

    1/2 tsp. salt

    2 tsp. soda

    2 tsp. ginger

    1 tsp. vanilla

    1 tsp. lemon extract (optional)

Cream shortening, gradually adding brown sugar. Blend in egg and molasses. Beat until light and fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients and gradually blend into creamed mixture. (Dough should be soft but not sticky or tops won't crackle.) Add vanilla and lemon extracts.

Chill until well-handled with flour. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls, roll in sugar and place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Don't over bake or centers won't stay chewy.

  3. does anyone know how early people usually line up at Office Depot and do they have a ticket system?

I went to a staples last year for BF and got there at 3:30am. My friend and I were the 4th and 5th people in line. Our area is pretty populous (e.g. the BB had a line to the corner of the building by dinner time Thanksgiving night). I can't imagine that OD would be much different than staples...

No idea about if they have a ticket system or not, it may depend on the store.

  4. I have an hp dv6135nr right now which is very similar to the model that you were looking at. I have had it for 3 years, and have had NO problems with it whatsoever. I take really good care of it, making sure to handle it gently and store it well when travelling, but it has been a GREAT laptop. The touch media buttons are kinda fun, too...

  5. Ok I was looking at the laptops Dell has on sale and I mainly want to use it to run Photoshop and surf the web. Are you saying the 3 laptops they have for under $700 aren't really good for that or worth it??

Any of the laptops that dell is selling for BF should run photoshop fine (except the Mini 9). I have a hp laptop right now with 2Gb ram and a 1.6GHz Core 2 Duo, and I can run it. The minimum specs for running photoshop CS4 are 512MB ram, 1Gb recommended. You'll have at least triple the recommended amount of RAM if you buy any of the laptops dell has for sale.

  6. I'm still amazed at how well of a job the staples in Novi, MI did. This year we got there at 3:15am, were 5th and 6th in line. At 5am, employees came out, handed out printed ads for anyone who needed one. At this time they also announced how much of each front page product they had in the store and how tickets would go. They had tickets for EVERY item on the front and back pages. Getting the tickets was a breeze, too. They opened the doors at 6am, you pointed out each ticketed item on the ad that you wanted, and they gave you a ticket for it. The tickets were color coded according to where you needed to pick the item up at in the store. They had about 2-3 people working at each of the pick up locations for the ticketed items, and all the checkout lines (5 of them) were open.

What made it even better was at 5:30 they handed out bottled waters and cookies to the first people in line until they ran out. This is my 2nd year going to this staples and last year it was just as good, I'll most likely be there next year too (depending on what the sales are like)....

  7. Circuit City has the TomTom One 3rd edition for $149 -- but no carrying case or home charger. You can buy a home charger if you'll really need it, but most folks are fine with the cigarette lighter car adapter.

You can also just connect the unit to your computer via a mini-usb cable and charge it that way...
  8. I was in line at my local staples this morning at 3:15, was the 5th person in line. Almost got the laptop (they only had 4 at my store). It was a GREAT time, the people were all super fun to talk to and swap black friday stories with.

The first guy in line got there at midnight. One of his friends went to best buy and was about 30th in line. At around 4am, a bunch of people got out of their cars and got in line w/ people waiting for them. He went from being around 30th to 130th....

  9. Thanks for your opinion AustinJenna. I couldn't really find any reviews of the unit online, so I was just going on features. I'll take a trip on wednesday to see what I think of the unit.
  10. I haven't been able to find the ad scan, either. I sure hope it's on sale without a rebate, that would make it even better!!!! According to the list of BF items at staples, there is no asterisk next to the GPS, so I assume there's no rebate...
  11. All of our purchases were done using PM. We got:

-Uniden 2.4 GHz Cordless Phone 3-pack at Staples

-512 MB Sandisk Cruzer Micro at CC

    -Targus Notebook Sleeve at CompUSA

No problems AT ALL. I am definately doing it this way next year. I avoided the 20 Degree weather and the crazy lines.

  12. Does anyone know why the Uniden 2.4GHz 3-pack of cordless phones for $49.99 AR isn't on the adscans. I bought them today so that I could PM them on BF, but now that I don't see them on the adscan, I am kinda leary of whether or not they are actually on sale :worried: . Any information would be helpful. Thanks a lot in advance.
  13. I REALLY want to get a Canon Powershot S2 IS. I haven't seen any good deals for it. The only one that has an ad for it is CompUSA which is for $499 with a 128 MB card. That really isn't a good deal b/c I can get it online for 450, and a 128 MB card costs around $20 shipped. I was hoping to see some ads for one less that $400. Maybe circuitcity can deliver!!!!!!
