  1. Would someone please give me a crash course on register rewards. I have seen them mentioned and would like to know more. How do you find out what items have register rewards. I have searched walgreens site with no luck. We recently got a store where I live and I would like to get in on the deals.:D
  2. I have gotten this several times. Sometimes it is better than others, but I have some picky eaters. Sometimes the 25.00 box has mostly meat which I love to get and at times there isn't alot of meat in the box. At those times its not that great of a value for us. The quality of everything I have gotten has been good. We like to get the boxes of steaks. Sometimes if I don't want the main offer, I will just add a box or two of steaks to a friend or relatives order.
  3. I'm not sure. Maybe you and I play different games on the site. You probably have the ones that don't have intermissions. Intermissions only last 30 seconds for you to view a sponsor ad and you get to play several games before it comes up. I usually check email or gottadeal during the break. The only ones I play are on the homepage under online free games; poppit, word whomp, tumble bees solitaire, etc. They have tons of free games without having to pay a membership. My kids got me hooked on pogo 2 or 3 years ago and we each have free memberships.
  4. A virtual cc is a service that some credit company offers. I have Citibank and they allow you to generate a temporary cc number when shopping online. The virtual cc number looks just like a regular cc number. The difference is that it expires in 1 month and you can set a limit per number. For ex; you can generate a number with a $1 limit so the merchant can't charge more than that. Plus you can generate as many as you want, as often as you need. Ck with your credit card company to see if they have that option. I think Paypal offers something similar, though I've never tried it. I don't think Chase offers one.

Thanks for the heads up pgrunner! I went to my Discover account and saw that they also offer this service. I signed up for it because it sounds so much safer to use.

  5. AVG is a great way to go. My new laptop just came in with Norton installed on it and I removed it and replaced with AVG. I have been running it on our pc's for quite awhile. No problems with it at all. I also thought that they were discontinuing the free version, kept getting pop ups about it running out. But when I took the time to read about it, it was only the version I had. I downloaded the newest version about a month ago, and it has been fine.
  6. I placed an order on Dec. 8 and got a email that it had shipped on the 10th by Fedex. I kept trying to track the package and kept saying it left on the 12th but had no other information. When it still had not arrived by Saturday the 16th I called. The lady told me she would ship another one free of charge. I got a email that the second one had shipped on the 18th also by Fedex. It arrived on the 19th, delivered by a Fedex carrier. Well today my mail carrier honked his horn and when I went out he was delivering the first package I had ordered. Disney does not want either one returned, so now my DD gets 2 cosmetics cases for the price of one. Actually for less the price of one, because I used the discount codes that was on the board and saved $7 on the original price of the bag.:D
  7. Hi,

I am looking for a mp3 player dirt cheap. DH just now told me he would like to have one for work, he's a crane operator. I really would prefer one that does not take a SD card if possible. I really don't want to invest a whole lot just to see if he will really use it. He doesn't even turn the computer on. If he likes it, then I can go for a really good one later.

    Thanks in advance.

  8. I walked into the electronics department at 9:50am and pricematched the Sandisk 1GB SD card from Staples BF 6 to 10am sale. Much nicer card than the no name brand they were offering for less than one dollar more than that one. Price went from $44.97 to $14.99.

heheheh I got even with WM for not having a decent sale this year. :D I stocked up on the Sandisk 1gb cards for digital cameras. Price matched them for 2.99, wm price 44.85. I got the Sandisk 1gb flash disks 7.99, wm price 44.85. I got Simpsons for 16.00 and Greys for 8.99. I also got several other dvd's pm's. I walked out of there with 1 bag for under 100.00. When I totaled my savings I had saved 175.00!:eyepoppin Serves them right for not having a laptop this year. I really wanted one but didn't feel like driving over a hour one way to bb to sleep on the sidewalk.

  9. I was just at WM and I saw a stockboy taking a cart back into layaway area. It has some smaller boxes on it and on the top was laptops. I ask if those were sale items for bf and he told me he was just moving them because people kept stealing them.:eyepoppin Our WM does not keep laptops on the shelf. What few they keep is in a locked glass cabinet. When I told him they didn't have a place for that particular model and ask again about bf sale, he told me he really didn't know anything but it could be on sale Friday. There was 16 laptops on the cart. Our store only carries 4-5 different ones and only 1-2 of each. It was the Toshiba Satellite L35-S1054. I am not sure of all of the specs but I do know that it has 1024 Ram and a 100 gb harddrive. I have done a web search and cannot find any info on this laptop. If you go to WM.com and bring up a Toshiba laptop and click in on the Vista upgrade it is listed there as being eligible for the upgrade, but that is the only place I can find that model listed. Does anyone else know anything else about this?
