  1. I hope this hasn't been posted yet. This is my first find to post and I wanted to give back a little for all the deals I have found here! This offer may only be for those who got in on the deal last time, so check your email.

Boca java has there 4 bags of gourmet coffee offer again for only the shipping and handling charge of $7.95. I got this last year and the coffe was great! I am going to have to order the little Kcup where you can add your own coffee so I can use this with my Keurig!

  2. I only started shopping online through this site last year. I thought I got alot more bargains last year, I haven't bought that much online this year. I found alot of great sales last year, many were at Amazon. I haven't found much there this year. I am disappointed, hope things get better while still time to have items shipped. I have 3 new nieces this year, need some bargains!
  3. Oh my, I think my son and yours have the same type of GF! This girl dresses in black or dark purple, lots of flowy skirts. I bought her a long black skirt at TJ Maxx one year. It had an elastic waist so size wasn't a problem. I found a flowy peasant/ artist type top to go with it and she really liked it. I had bought her jewelry in the past and she didn't like it but she went and put her new outfit on right after she opened it.
  4. I have a 9 y/o at home and 3 that are grown with children of their own. I spend alot more on my son at home but still spend quite a bit on my others as well as my grandchildren. I try to get good deals and shop clearance all year to help a little. It depends on what they need. I have 2 daughters in college and they have 2 children each. I know how hard this is for them and respect their decision to improve their lives so I try to do more. Last year I was lucky enough to get one of the computers at Wal Mart for under $200 so the other 2 that are grown got more also just because one needed a computer for school.

I think it depends on how much you can spend. Remember that they still think of themselves as just like the ones at home so I would try to avoid hurt feelings. I have also learned from experience not to spend alot on girlfriends or boyfriends of my kids, kind of annoying when they break up right after Christmas and I have spent way too much on them! Better to wait till they are truly committed ( married!)

  5. I am a nurse and one year a doctor I worked for gave me a really nice gift basket with a candle, potpourri and an ornament. The basket and other items are gone but I still have the ornament and it is one of my favorites. I think a good gift would be to go to a place that sells Hallmark ornaments and buy each person one that reflects what they like.
  6. I ordered my son's teacher a personalized mousepad from Doughgirls. I found this on a deals thread. It is a cartoon like picture of a teacher at her desk with kids beside her and we had our school name , the teachers name, and a personal message printed on it. It was around $7 shipped. My daughter is a teacher and she thought it would be great to get.
  7. This may be a dumb question but how do I get a scanned photo that I have in my computer to show up big enough to cover the mousepad? I ordered some from pictures I downloaded from my digital camera and they look great! I had a picture my sister gave me and wanted to surprise her with one of these but when I preview it, there is only a small pictuer in the center of the mousepad. Thanks for any help!
  8. My town has what is supposed to be the smallest Wal Mart built and a Dollar General. I look at the BF WM ads and have sent my DD to get my items when she gets hers. I really think that this year I will take the day and drive an hour to the sales at the closest Target and mall. I am a little peeved at WM for their little ad banning!

Really, I got my best deals from the comfort of my home last year thanks to GottaDeal and other sites like it! ( but GD is my favorite, always the best deals!).

  9. I love any of the Christmas movies. I search for anything with Christmas in the title on my TV then record most of them on my DVR. My all time favorite is the original Miracle on 34th Street followed by A christmas Carol,( the old one, not sure which year it was made but I think it has the best Scrooge ever!) I have seen several romantic comedy type movies that were really good the last couple of years but I can't remember the names.
  10. We always put the Santa present ( the expensive thing they most wanted) unwrapped and under the tree. I always fill the stockings so full that I can't leave them hanging on the mantle so I lay them on top or beside the Santa present because they sre from Santa too. The rest of the gifts are from me or their siblings. They are all grown and married except for my 9 year old that still gets the gifts the same way even though he knows that I am the Santa! He still leaves out the cookies and diet coke for " Santa". ( when they still believed , I had to pour the milk out, can't stand it but as soon as they knew it was for me, they put out my soda!)
  11. I just started last night! I have been making lists, started my Christmas journal filled with gift ideas, starting menus and recipes for baking so I am already in the mood! My son always gets upset whan I put away his favorite Christmas song, "Santa Baby" after Christmas. I love Christmas but as soon as the day is over I am ready to take down the tree and put all my stuff away. I will start decorating in mid November though!
  12. They added really nice items but they are all discontinued! A DVD/Cd ultra compact player for $15.24, dvd home theater system for $18.98! I thought I could grab some great deals for my family but couldn't. Maybe they will add these later. Seems strange that they are already discontinued, I looked there last week and they weren't listed yet. :
  13. I like to put several cans of green beans in the crockpot, drain juice from a few of the cans. I add crumbled up fried bacon, salt and pepper and then either cook on high for 4 hours or turn on low the night before. We are southeners and like our veggies well done, so if you don't want them as cooked you could cut down cooking time.

I also have my DD make a mashed potato dish. She makes this the day before and puts it in the frig and then bakes it that morning. She adds cream cheese , green onions or chives, butter, salt ,pepper, milk and sour cream to her cooked, drained potatoes. Then she puts them in a greased baking dish and covers them with shredded cheese.

This crockpot dressing is good, be sure to use the real butter.

    Crock Pot Dressing

    1 cup real salted butter

    2 cups chopped onion

1 can cream of cream of celery soup (small)

2 cans cream of chicken soup (small)

12-13 cups cooked cornbread, crumbled (depending on how moist you want it)

    ½ teaspoon salt

    1 ½ teaspoons sage

    ½ teaspoon black pepper

    1 teaspoon thyme

    1 teaspoon poultry seasoning

    2 cans Butterball chicken broth

    2 well beaten eggs

Melt butter and sauté onions until tender. Pour over cornbread, add beaten eggs, and remaining ingredients. Mix well. Cook in a 4 ½ quart (or larger) crock pot on low for 4-8 hours, stirring occasionally depending on desired doneness, this can be mixed right in your crock pot.
