Why would Wal-Mart start BF sales early if the sales are down? Do you realize how much of a profit Wal-Mart actually makes on BF? Wal-Mart makes next to no profit at all on BF. Starting the sales early would only hurt them even worse. Think about it. I don't know where people heard this, but I guarantee you it is completely false.

No, because the last day to put items on Layaway at ANY Wal-Mart is November 19th. BF is November 24. You can not put items on Layaway for BF this year.

I don't know about other states, but the SUpercentersin Missouri will be open on Thanksgiving all day and will NOT close that evening. There are also no special deals Thanksgiving night, just BF deals that will start at 5 am. The stores here will not be closing for a meeting.

I work for a Supercenter in Missouri, and how the Supercenters do it, is between 4-5 a.m the pallets of BF merchandise are pulled out to the sales floor, wrapped in black plastic wrap, and placed in different areas. Like it was stated above, the items are not always placed in their departments. At 5 a.m the plastic is cut off, and customers are then allowed to purchase the BF merchandise at the BF price.
