yep, most items were online the last several years. like you said, shipping is the main issue, but they've normally had plenty in stock.

We already had a sale a couple weeks ago. Don't know if we'll have another yet. Depends on how many shirts I have left and how busy things get with BF-related work.

From what I remember, this ad has really never been as good as the actual BF ad. Where the BF ad tends to be full of stuff at 40-50% off, this catalog tends to have smaller discounts.

Zales.com contacted us back a few months ago because they were starting weekly "Black Friday" sales every Friday starting in September. And the sales were pretty much exactly the same as they've had all year long. And then they had the nerve to ask me why they weren't getting featured on the BF site, lol.

"Black November", "Black Friday Now", "Eary Black Friday"... all these stores can call the sales whatever they want but if they deals aren't good, people will know. I don't think they are going to fool many people by throwing around these phrases for "normal" sales and expect huge amounts of orders as a result.

We've had 5 total shirts: 1. lighter blue shirt with small GottaDeal.com on front and big "Why Pay Retail" on back 2. gray "team-style" with GD and WPR? slogan and "Est. 2004" on front 3. original black Black Friday shirt 4. navy blue GD shirt with GD logo and WYR on front (current shirt) 5. navy blue BF shirt (current shirt) I have a few of each of the first 3 designs that I saved. Might have to give those away some time as they've apparently become collector's items

Yeah those Pilot G-2 pens are nice - my favorite. Took a lot of searching to find a place that would make those in a small enough quantity without charging an arm and a leg for them.

As for the extra "goodies", I'm trying to get rid of some of our extra stuff by the end of the year so I can order some new items for next year. So you might get different stuff than other people (or in some cases nothing depending how in a hurry I am while packaging the shirts, lol). The early orders got pens & highlighters. Later orders got GD magnets. Future shirts will go out with other stuff I have laying around, so you'll be surprised.

Especially considering you paid for the shirt, lol. Imagine your excitement if you would have won one first

The forum flags people with multiple accounts using the same IP address and/or the same computer. Although there's nothing we can do if someone registers a new account from some other computer elsewhere. If someone really wants to cheat to have a better chance to win a $5 t-shirt, well then there isn't much more we can do about it. Pretty sad though if it's happening. But I'm guessing the first-post people are just new members who finally decided to register to try and win a shirt. Happens every year.

They are both hardware cooperatives based out of IL, but they are different companies.

Yep, just a placeholder page similar to what Amazon and others have done in the past, probably put up to get them some BF-related search engine traffic.

Like I said, these were shipped regular USPS first class mail, so everyone is going to get them on different days depending on where you are located and how the post office routes the package. Some of you on the west coast might not get them for another week.
