One possibility is that they are delaying the first 2 sales by a week. There was always that weird 2-week period between the 2nd and 3rd sale so maybe they are bunching them up closer this year? Or maybe just 1 or 2 sales. We'll find out soon enough.

Noticed they added a bunch of items to this page (previously there was just one TV on the page): https://www.walmart.com/shop/deals/black-friday Which makes sense because last year when they posted the first 2 ads they also started a "deals for days" sale which this page looks like it could be.

If Walmart repeats their schedule from last year (and plans on doing 3 BF sales again), tonight at midnight EDT we'll get the first 2 ads.

Based on last year I'm guessing we get some announcements this week about BF sale dates, etc. from stores like Target and Best Buy.

Yeah they just didn't want to pay for the extra employees that worked curbside. Now they get you in the store and hope you'll see something on the way to the back of the store to buy. As for it being an honor system, I heard that any large or expensive items will still have to be picked up at customer service.
