  1. Well, I didn’t need to do any BF shopping this year (I got all my stuff done last month when I hit some good sales) but my boys both wanted to go out with a little money they had today. So around Noon I took them to Five Below and they got Guitar Hero Live for the Wii U for $5 and a little $5 drone. Then we went over to TRU and they hit up the Buy 1 Get 4 Free Skylanders figures, which also were marked down to $2.98 (so $3 for 5 figures!!) and a big 3 pack with a level for another $3. So $16 total later and they had a trunk full of stuff! At GameStop, we picked up some cheap pre-owned XBox One games. They’re happy campers. We went into Petsmart to get some dog stuff, and that was the only store that had a long line of people in checkout. They only have 4 registers in there, so that’s why. As far as crowds, we were out from about 12-4 with breaks for lunch and snacks, etc. and we weren’t in a lot of high traffic stores. There were decent crowds, but the only place we waited in a checkout line was Petsmart. I will say that the Kohl’s parking lot was packed, so they must have been busy in there. Target’s parking lot seemed “normal Saturday” packed, and our Walmart always looks the same amount of packed. Not much to report this year but I wasn’t even expecting to be out today, so I figured I’d add my voice to the mix here.
  2. I keep the kids’ stuff in boxes under a blanket in our laundry room in the basement. I keep a note on my phone with my lists for each kid, then it gets a credit card emoji next to it once I’ve ordered it, and a check mark once it’s arrived and is hidden in the box/blanket area. When it gets wrapped, you guessed it, gift box emoji.
  3. Bath bombs, comfy jammies, slippers, a cozy blanket, Instax camera and film, bath and body works stuff, a drone.
  4. Target online was very smooth. I placed an order at 5:00 a.m. EST for four video games, and got an email by 8:30 am letting me know it was ready for pick-up. Showed up around 8:15 pm and got my stuff. Very well done.
  5. Online at 5:00 a.m. : Target - Overwatch PS4, Watch Dogs PS4, Skylanders Imaginators PS4, Sonic Boom Fire and Ice 3DS Amazon: COD Infinite Warfare Tonight I went to Toys R Us for the first time in a few years for BF because it used to get so crazy there and the line was so long, it just never seemed worth the trouble. But I wanted to see if I could score either of the Nerf doorbusters for my son. We got there around 7:30, walked right in and found both guns (don't remember their names but they were $20 and $30) and also got 3 of the Skylanders gem things for the new game 3 for $20, so basically B2G1. And then we walked right up to the checkout lane, which was roped off but empty, the guy told us which checkout number to go to, and that was that. I commented on how smoothly it was all going and asked him if there was a line when they opened and he said yeah. It couldn't have been that crazy though. I remember the check-out line taking two hours to get through one year! Definitely wasn't expecting to stroll right through and be done. Anyway, after that we headed over to Target to pick up my online orders from this morning. There wasn't a wait at the desk and she got my order right away. Done and done. Decided to walk around and there were about as many people there as what you would find on a Saturday, nothing crazy. Ended up grabbing a christmas sweater, a Skyrim PS4 game, and a Kirby 3DS game while we were there. We were all done and it was only 8:45 so we went over to WM just to see if they had the $20 doorbuster Nerf gun, but we couldn't find it anywhere. They were already moving things back, which is something I came across last year too and thought was weird. Gone are the days of the pallets sitting there all weekend, I guess. I asked a few employees if they had seen where the Nerf was set up, but none of them knew and they all just said check over in toys. Well, it wasn't a huge deal so we looked around for a half hour but didn't buy anything. And that was that. My Amazon order shipped, which is awesome. And I already picked up my Target games from this morning so that was awesome too, no waiting in line. So while Black Friday is definitely dead and completely different than what it was even just 5 years ago, it does make for an easier overall experience. I don't have to set an alarm or wait outside any stores, and Target's online order/pick-up process just couldn't be smoother. I had a lot of luck with them last year, too.
  6. Same here. The only shopping I've ever done on Christmas itself is emergency shopping at a drugstore or Sheetz, for headache medicine or something like that if someone needs it. For me, Christmas is about relaxing and staying cocooned from the world with my family for a day.
  7. Oh, we stopped in Kohls around 11am on Friday and there was a line for the checkout wrapped around the store. We didn't really need anything from there and didn't feel like waiting if we did find something, so we left. But I was surprised to see them that busy later on in the morning like that!
  8. We were at Target around 8:30 Thursday night and it was busy in there, but not insane. Crowded, but manageable. Went over to Walmart about an hour later and it was dead in there. Like, weird dead. Hardly any shoppers, hardly any noise, the employees were wheeling pallets of canned goods back to where they belonged. We made a lap, my brother was very confused, and then we left. Now, I was in there on Sunday just grabbing some groceries and was surprised to see all the Black Friday movie displays still packed with DVD's!! I've never seen that before, usually those cardboard displays are ripped apart at our store. So what happened? Did they not pull them out in the first place? Do people not go for the cheap DVD's anymore? It was strange.
  9. I bought two, but it won't let me choose 2. I bought a Wii U and a PS4. I got the PS4 at Sams a couple weeks ago for $300 and the Wii U bundle at Target.com for $250 on Thursday morning and picked it up on Friday in the store. Deciding factors were really just as simple as that's what my kids want, so that's what I bought. They know more about that crap than I could ever hope to. Lol
  10. I'm a happy camper this year. My husband's "turkey alarm" went off around 5-5:30 this morning, so I checked my phone and saw that Target's deals had started. I ordered the Wii U Splatoon/Smash Bro's bundle for $250, a 3DS Mario Game for $15, Turtle Beach headset for $30, Skylanders Superchargers for $35, and Mario Maker for $60 and got the $15 giftcard. Everything has already shipped, and the Wii U is scheduled for in-store pickup in the morning. I found Target's online buying process to be very smooth. Additional 5% off with Redcard and free shipping. Next up was Amazon, just a few games I needed for the boys, I got Mario Kart 8 for $45, Minecraft $18, Terraria $18, and Tearaway Unfolded $20. Free shipping. Tonight, my brother and I headed up to Target at about 8:30. It was still pretty busy in there, but very well organized and decently stocked. There were two police officers out front. We have a good Target. I got the 40" Westinghouse TV for $218, 3 of the Skylanders figures for $11 each, Jurassic World Bluray combo $10, and Home Bluray combo for $9. I also got a super cute wallet for myself for $9 with their 40% off sale. I might get a purse in the morning when I run up to get the Wii U, especially since I have my $15 giftcard now from buying Mario Maker. Additional 5% off with Redcard. I was surprised to see the big pile of PS4's that were left, but no sign of the Wii U's, so I'm glad I got mine online. We decided to drive across the street and see if anything was still going on at Walmart, this was around 9:30. It was weird, it was pretty dead over there. Totally different vibe than Target. In fact, the store employees were already rolling pallets of food back to where they belonged, and condensing and cleaning up the displays that were left. I didn't see movies or video games anywhere, and it looked like all the tv's were gone. Really, the only BF deals I saw there were clothes, cameras, fitbits, and speakers. It was so quiet. Tomorrow morning, after I pick up the Wii U and bring it home (and hide it!) we're planning on taking the kids out for a while, see what deals we can find. I wasn't in the mood to browse tonight because I'm tired. We want to go to Kohls and then up to the mall. I hope everyone had some luck tonight! Thanks again for being such a huge help this year. What would I do with Gottadeal?
  11. Hey, my orders shipped! I have two items ready for pick-up, one order shipped, and one game that hasn't shipped yet. Not bad! Smooth shopping process with Target this year.
  12. Sounds like Walmart has been even more of a headache than usual! I placed a Target order around 5:30 and popped over to the WM site just to see if there was anything I liked, and it wouldn't even load for me.
  13. I was able to order the Wii U Splat/Smash bundle and choose in store pick-up! It's processing. Also got Mario Maker, a headset, PS4 controller, some Mario 3ds game for $15, and Skylanders for $35. Happy camper! Back to bed.
  14. Do we know what time the sale starts online? Is it midnight tonight?
