I want to know where to get the best Wii Fitness game deals on Black Friday. I want Wii Active, My Fitness Coach, stuff like that. Hopefully I can score some killer deals on-line at midnight.

Meijers just had Wii Active on sale for $39.99. If you're looking for a great workout game, I highly recommend Active!!

We're considering getting our twins (6) and son (3) a Wii for christmas..if I can get a decent price and find one. Is it worth all the cost and hassle to get one of these? They love their v-tech stuff, but we don't have any other systems, so I have nothing to go off of. I just don't want something like the stupid robotic lion cubs they "had" to have last year for $70 each and are still sitting on a shelf in their closets.

$39.99?! Do they still have it!? I just bought Wii Fit, and LOVE IT... ready to get the other Wii Fit Board capable games.

My 5 and 6 year old would play the Wii 24 hours if we let them!! They love it :yup:

Ok, you're all going to think we are strange, but we're looking to buy ds7 either a Nintendo 64 or Super Nintendo. Have been debating on buying the Retro thingy on Buy.com that plays Nintendo and Super Nintendo games. Does anyone have it? Any opinions about it? Just worrying about having a fortune wrapped up in the games.

Oh, the reason behind it is because he keeps scratching up all of the discs for the 360, ps3 and wii. Figured we could put this in his room and he could change the games himself. Less complicated for him. He's REALLY good at the games, just won't leave his hands off the discs and has trouble starting them.

that was totally unexpected, next someone will be getting an ATARI ;) but sorry, no idea about the system you asked about.

I was hoping to see something about a new must have game discounted somewhere. Do new parents still find time to play or would a game be a waste?

I am not familiar with the Retro unit that plays both. DH has the real thing set up, and the kids love the N64. They like the SNES and NES, but they need more supervision and care.

And, yes, tinkrbel, we have a 2600 hooked up, and are still getting new games for it on a regular basis.

My DD5 is asking for a pink DS. I was thinking about getting her a DSi but don't know that much about them.

The main differences in the DSi are the addition of the internal/external cameras and replacing the GBA cartridge slot with an SDram port.

You lose the ability to play older GameBoy games, but all DS games will work. And Nintendo has opened the DSi Shop which allows you to download other games, much like the Wii can.

Conj- Why do you say the SNES and NES need more supervision and care than the N64?

I haven't used it, but from the general opinion of users on another message board I go to, it supposed to work quite well; the only problem being that some of the more obscure games are unplayable on it (Castlevania III, for example).

As for games, a lot of the well-known stuff (Mario, Zelda, etc.) won't be too expensive; they usually won't cost you more than $20 (More expensive than your average Sega Genesis game, though cheaper than any big-name Xbox 360 game at the moment). However, you won't be able to walk into a Gamestop and find games for either an NES or Super NES; they haven't sold those since 2003, so you'll have to look online or find a small, locally owned video game store in your area.

I read in this "predictions" article (where the guy had 82% accuracy on BF 2008 predictions) that the WII will be $199 ; boy, I hope he's right on that. And if he is, I hope I can get one :-)

gamespot.com reported a rumor off another website with a picture of a Sept. 27th ad scan for ToysRUs showing the drop to $199.

The same site reported early ad data from Walmart making the same price drop the first week in October.

IMO.... It's not a matter of if anymore..... it's now a matter of when.

Honestly I wouldn't bother. If he's used to 360, PS3 and Wii he will HATE a 64 or Super Nintendo. Just have the disks for the systems you have so he can not get to them. He's 7 he should know how to take care of stuff and not get him a special system just so he won't ruin it. Just IMO! ;)

Well, he has Down Syndrome and I choose to accommodate him rather than make it a battle (which is what it turns into when you tell him he can't change games every 15 minutes!!) And the fact that we have to load the games once he puts them in because although he is very good at playing them, he hasn't quite learned which buttons to push to load them. AND he does know how to take care of things, he's really careful with them and always puts them away, he just doesn't understand that touching them in the wrong way scratches them. It's cheaper and easier to get him a system that takes discs than to replace $60 games.

Also, he likes to be able to do things himself, and this would help him be able to do that. Less complicated than the newer systems.

why don't you just buy the older games from the older systems on the Wii shopping channel? That way the controllers and all will be the same and they are releasing new games all the time. And there are no discs to touch, they are loaded on your Wii.

The games your purchase show up on your welcome screen. You just click on the game you want to play.

If you really still want to buy him an older set - check out GameStop or one of the game resellers in your area - you'll be surprised how cheap they are. Or put a plea out on FreeCycle - you might get lucky!

I don't think he will be upset over the lack of special effects and graphics. Go for it. especially for 30 bucks. be on the look out for the games at yard sales, salvation army, and such.

Also check out the auction site at shopgoodwill.com. I replaced my stolen N64 and most of the games for it that way.
