Nahhhh...The people in line are "moderately" nice.

;)

Plus the Wii will be in a tent where there will be 7+ people in it.

I highly doubt anyone can sneak in, swoosh the Wii, and run away without being noticed.

I would not use a charcoal grill for heating. It produces carbon monoxide and will gas everyone near by. You should get a camping heater. Coleman has several models that you can use inside a tent or close area. Below is a link to the heater.

hey Jim, has anyone ever given you a hard time when you step out of line to put your stuff away and then rejoin?

No they have not. Once you are in line for 30 plus hours you become friendly with the people around you. So if someone nears you needs to potty or get food they will ask if you will hold there spot while they potty and they will do the same with you. It is a honor system. If you do get up to go get food then you must offer to get food for the people around you. Once it is time to put away your stuff people around you are doing it but just remember who was in order. You might take turns doing it. In the lines I have been in this takes place around 1am on Friday for a 5pm opening. Again this will all depend on the people around you and how quick you make friends.

Do people really kick you out of line if you JUST go to the bathroom/get food?

The people in line where I am in Best Buy don't really care.

It varies from store and store. We have had reports in years past where the people in line were rude and such. Other reports we get that every one in line plays nicely. I hope everyone plays nice. :) BF is a full contact sport and you will find that once business picks up that this site has some of the most serious and professional BF shoppers in the world that post here.

LOL

You may laugh but CNBC covered my port-a-potty last year.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/21886301

It was front page on MSNBC and CNBC last year. And people really do pay a buck since I have the key.

I missed this last year. You really sit out there for 30 hours? WOW! Do you go by yourself or with someone? Do you buy for only yourself or do others in your family have you get things for them? Is that the only store you go to?

I go with my son and his girlfriend and a friend of mine, and we split up & get in line at different stores or like in Kohls take turns shopping while someone gets in line, or go into a store and split up each person grabbing a certain item.

Yes I do really sit there for 30 hours and it may be longer this year. Just depends on the intel I get here. :)

When I stated to do this 5 years ago it was just me but over the years I have made alot of friends and it has grown to about a group of 30. We all stay in touch during the year and do each others birthday and holidays. Best Buy is the only store I go to since I feel they have the best sales year after year and the ticket system is one of the best out there. You asked who I buy for. I mostly buy for me and close family.

I meant does your family have you pick up things for them? And you don't go with anyone that you know outside of BF/BB line? I agree, other stores could learn from best buy, I think circuit city has started doing something similar.

You always have friends/family that will hold your spot in line while you can get your stuff and put it in your car.

My family does ask for me to pick up things for them but they know that I dont like to do that. I tell them if they want something really bad that they have to sit in line for me. I do invite friends who I have not met in the BF line but I have found out that they just dont understand BF and why anyone would camp out.

This may be a stupid question but I've always wanted to know! How do you get internet access waiting in line on BF?? Do you just pick up surrounding wireless signals?

That but for the past two years I have become known to the store manager, district manager and the employees at BB that they will give me the WEP key to there secured network. Since I go to the same store every year the district manager and store manager have me in there phones and vice versa. They asked one year and I jokely said a internet connection and 10 minutes later they came out and gave me the WEP key. It pays to be loyal.
