Aeropostale sizing help

Recommended Posts

I want to get dd some shirts at Aeropostale.

She is 10 but is tall for her age.

I usually buy her an XL in the girls section.

Can anyone tell me about Aeropostale's sizing? It says girls but does that mean junior sizes?

If she wears an XL in girls does anyone know what that would equal in a juniors size?

Thanks

If she is wearing an XL in girls and is tall she will probably be a small/medium. The reason I do not recommend specifically one or the other is because they are making the clothes so form fitting now that you really need to go to one of the stores and compare and decide yourself. She may not like them really tight (or YOU may not like them really tight ;)).

Also, sign up for their emails because they send you notices of sales and online specials quite often. Just got one today-check out their clearances!

I find that the shirts are quite small fitting - my DD 9 (who is very slim and petite) can wear their XXS sizes and so can my DD 7 (regular size).... the shirts are fairly tight fitting on the girls. The t shirts have various fits - the boyfriend t is less fitted than others... she may need to go in to try on the styles... though I have found the size and fit to be consistent within the styles...

My DD12 is super skinny and tall and she gets a medium in shirts and just moved up to a 1/2 in jeans. She wears an XL in girls, too. She tried the XS and S shirts, but she grew out of them rather quickly. I love their jeans for her because she has very long legs and their jeans come in 3 different lengths. This has been a huge money saver for us, because she always grew out of her jeans mid season. The past two summers we have found jeans on clearance 5.99. Can you tell that I love this store!
