Hi all, I am new here, I have been looking for a small FM radio and this looked decent enough. Unfortunately tweeters site says not available for online purchase. And the closest one to me is several states away.

So any other good recommendations for a small, cheap FM radio. It needs to be somewhat loud, since I will be using it in a noisy environment. But I don't want to sacrifice volume for sound quality. I originally bought a very cheap(5 dollars) radio from RS. I didn't ecpect much from it, and thats what I got. It performs well as low volume, but if you crank it up to be able to hear it, it sounds really bad, most of the time you can't make out what they are saying.

Welcome to the forum Mike. This item was in stock when I posted the deal this morning - you must have just missed it :(

As for another radio, do you have a price range? If you are willing to spend $30-40, I'd look at the Sangean line of pocket radios. I believe Amazon.com carries a few of them. If you want something cheaper, let me know and I'll see if I can find something. But like you said, you get what you pay for. I think I saw a Panasonic model at Amazon for $9.99 a week or so ago that got good customer reviews.

I don't want to spend a ton, but if they are good, then I could spend 30-40. I really kinda liked these though for a couple reasons.

Here they are. As I said, I would be using these in a noisy environment. That environment is my place of buisness, the UPS we all hate. No I am not the one losing and damaging your packages. Anyway technically we are not supposed ot have radios in there. The guys inside don't care. But the higher ups are afraid that if they let people bring radios in, that it would be too easy for those people to take radios out. Normally not a problem, but when you figure at least a few radios get shipped through UPS, they are worried about theft basically.

So I need something small, I know its not too hard to get stuff past these guys, as I have been doing it with my current radio, but the bigger it is the harder it is.

Plus I like these being all headphones basically, not as much wire to snag on stuff. I currently have my radio in my pocket, then I run the ear buds up through my shirt, so they are inside my shirt and won't snag, but its a pain. SO while I don't need this style, something like it would probablly be easier to use.

Although one thing I was kinda wondering about is what to do with the other headphone. A lot of the times I have both ear buds in. But there are times when I want to be able to hear my music and whatever else is going on around me. I can do this with both ears covered, but its obviously easier to hear without both covered. Although with this kinda clip design, I suppose I could find a way to like clip it to my shirt or something while I am not using it.

Thanks for the help guys. Oh and BTW, I love your site, I have been a user since the beginning, just decided it was time to actually join the community.

Sounds like these would have been a perfect fit for you. It's really too bad you missed out. I actually posted a deal here on the forum for them over a week ago when they were even cheaper - around $25 shipped.

I really don't know of any other model of clip-on headphone/radio like this. You could always wait and keep checking to see if they get more in stock (people might have ordered and then cancelled). Otherwise you'll need to go to a regular pocket radio, something like one of these:
