I did a search and couldnt find a thread for this. I thought it would be neat to post pics of our Christmas trees.

Here is mine.

We usually put around 2500 lights on our tree, but this year we went with pre-lit.

can I post pictures of my menorah?

Sure :)

My tree is a big ol' fake. It is the first year we've used a fake and I'm tempted to go get some pine smelly stuff and spray it on the tree :( I realize it is easier and cheaper but I loved my live trees. We used to replant them at DH's dads ranch after Christmas

But if anyone wants one that looks real I got mine at Hobby lobby and it even has little pinecones on it :cheesy: Almost everyone that has seen it up thinks it is a real tree!!

I like seeing everyone's keep it coming!

Omg I love that support the troops sign and I love your tree what a cool idea! The yellow ribbon thats lit up it neat also!

Thanks. When I told DH what I intended to do, he thought it was one of the silliest ideas he had ever heard. I didn't think so. I made all the stockings and bows and it gave me something to do for a few weeks to keep busy. The kids liked the idea too, so I thought, what the heck! :)

The soliders "yard card" I found at Wal-Mart for $18.xx and thought it was differant so I picked it up. The lit yellow ribbon, I found at our PX from one of the vendors. I will put it in my window after Chrsitmas. :) Thanks for the compliments.

Love the Daddy come home tree, wonderful idea, I wish I would have thought of that for this year. My kids are taking their dad not being home for Christmas this year very hard - so maybe I will have to put up the 2nd tree and steal your idea. I wonder if I can find any Navy ship ornaments at the NEX to go on it. What a neat idea - thanks for sharing!

You could make some little anchors kind of like I did with the ACU stockings possibly. Also most of the craft stores sell the little wood embellisments, many of them already painted. You might be able to find some little ships there & use those as ornaments. Maybe even make or buy some small US flags to add to the tree. I also made my tree skirt myself. Just got the blue fabric at wal-mart for $1 a yard and added red ribbon and little star ornaments ment for a small tree. I just glued them on with some fabric glue and used stitch witchery to add the ribbon. (the stuff you put between to fabrics and iron to make a hem without sewing) I purchased all of my ribbon at the dollar tree. I think there was about 12-18 feet on each roll & it made about 2-3 bows to each roll. Hope this gave you a few ideas. It was a lot of fun to come up with all of the ideas & in some little way, I think it is all making the holidays without my husband a little easier to bear.
