What kind of cookies or candies do you make?

I recently started making oatmeal scotchies (oatmeal cookies with butterscotch chips) and everyone loves them. I can post the recipe when I get home if anyone wants it. I'll also probably be making butterscotch no-bakes this year (yes, I like butterscotch).

My grandma makes the most delicious peanut butter fudge (and chocolate and black walnut too, plus caramels) - I really need to watch her sometime.

Here's the recipe for the Chocolate Mint Softies

1 package (18.25 oz) Devil's food cake mix

1/3 cup water

1/4 cup butter, softened

1 egg

1 cup Andes Peppermint Crunch

1/2 cup coarsly chopped walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350. Grease cookie sheets. Combine cake mix, water, butter and egg in large bowl. Beat with electric mixer at low speed until moistened. Increase speed to medium; beat 1 minute. (Dough will be thick.) Stir in chips and nuts; mix until well blended. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set. Let cookies stand on cookie sheets for 1 minute. Remove cookies to wire racks; cool completely.

Makes about 4 dozen cookies

I don't have the recipes near me right now.. nor do I care to remember them (too much baking on Thanksgiving Day! lol!).

I make the following cookies: pumpkin spice, chocolate chip, oatmeal, peanut butter.. and then I make banana bread and usually a new kind of bread every Christmas.

Could you post the recipe for the eggnog cream cheese cookies? These sound GOOD.

Last year I did sugar cookies, orange cookies, shortbread, chocolate chip, and oatmeal raisin. This year I'm adding press cookies too. But I'm looking through seeing what else I can add. I love citrusy cookies over the holidays, so I may do a lime cookie too as well.

I will sit down tonight and go through all the cookies books I have about 20 of them and I will post the ones I use every year and the new one I will be making this year.

I make cut-outs, peanut butter with hershey kisses, and pumpkin roll(not cookie or candy). My brother gave me 4 tubs of cookie dough(sugar for cut-outs, chocolate chip, peanut butterfor the ones with hershey kisses, and snickerdoodle), so I'll probably be making those other ones too. I am not planning on doing candy this year, but have made chocolate covered pretzels for Christmas before.

I make oatmeal raisin cookies, but instead of plain raisins I put in chocolate covered raisins. They never last long. :gdlicklips: Also make peanut brittle, easier to make than most people think.:2elephant

I never thought of doing that with oatmeal cookies! I bet they are DELICIOUS!!! My husband is a big fan of peanut brittle. I would love to have the recipe if you don't mind sharing!! :)

Thank you~

What are Andes Peppermint Crunch? Is it a variety of the Andes mints?

I take the packaged Peanut Butter Cookie mix and roll into balls into a small muffin tin. Right after they come out of the oven, I pop a mini Reese cup in the middle. Waaay better than just a Hershey Kiss ..

I might have to try the Oatmeal with the chocolate covered raisins .. yummo

I have been on a baking frenzy the last couple of weeks freezing them for Xmas, so far I have made, coconut macaroons, peppermint meringue drops, chocolate chip pumpkin, sour cream cutouts, butter spritz, and I've been molding my own candy! I love this time of year!!

P.S. I forgot about the cherry snowballs and the Amish sugar cookies! I think that's it so far.

My sister and I get together and make about 6 different kinds of cookies but this year I had a great idea for something different! The kids and I are going to make about 5 double batches of rice crispy treats, cut them in about 2" squares, dip them in chocolate and put Christmas sprinkles on them! I am so excited to try this since they always look so good at Archers & Gertrude Hawks but I'm too cheap to spend $4 on one, lol. I think we'll put like 3 in each treat sized bag and give everyone in every family around us a baggie plus tie a baggie to each gift we give out to family. I'll have to post a pic of how they turn out. We'll probably make them tomorrow night.

The kids and I are going to make cookies this weekend! We are making sugar, chocolate chip, peanut butter w/kisses, the Chocolate Mint Softies listed above, potato, and a new receipe I found the other day I just can't remember the name. I also plan to make Christmas tree Brownies. Then next weekend we will be molding candy, making chocolate covered pretzels, and maybe making mint chocolate covered oreos (half the oreo is green and the other half is red).

This sounds like a great idea! Thanks, I have a school bake sale in a couple days.

Around Christmas time Rice Krispies usually puts out a red and green colored cereal. I am going to try and find that for this snack.
