$499 Best Buy Laptop-- Internal Wireless Card??

Hi Guys,

This is my first post here. Does anyone know for sure if the $499 Toshiba Laptop special has an internal wireless card? Most information I have found suggests that it does _not_, however some people seem to think that it does..

If this unit does not have internal wireless, is the antenna still part of the machine? Would it likely be possible to just add a mini-pci card?

Thanks for any help you all can offer. I do a lot of computer work but I'm not very familiar with Toshiba machines. Dell and IBM are what I generally work on.

Thanks!

James

I can also say that I'm sure it does not. I went to Best Buy last night and confirmed that it does not. It's a 15" screen and not wide screen. There is a D-Link Wireless kit at Best Buy that has a network card for a laptop and a wireless router for $19.99 after $100.00 rebate on BF. That would be a good combo purchase.

i have a Toshiba Satellite (not the same model as the one on sale) and you can put memory in it--actually I put PNY memory in mine not long ago. I bought it in August and put more RAM in in September. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to--if not the PCI card, then a USB one (which my husband says they are a little slower, but I'm not convinced)

Yes, I'm sure it was the s109 model. I had to look on the bottom of the laptop to confirm, because the Best Buy sign had a different model number. The regular price was $899.99. It does not have built in wireless, but it will accept a wireless pcmcia card.
