What are the advantages to the curved, besides aesthetically. I really like the look but for double the price

there has to be more. Thank you!

Curved is a gimmick that will die off soon. Just like 3D was. Why do you think Samsung is the only one who makes them. The big disadvantage with a curved screen is you need to be sitting exactly center of the screen for the best viewing.

Then you better hurry up grab a leftover set. No one is manufacturing 3D sets anymore. In fact most companies abandoned 3D two years ago.

Yeah, what Monstermile said.  Curved can be pretty cool for gaming computer monitors, especially when multiple curved screens are used together.  For for regular TV watching, unless you're always sitting in the same spot, and you're positioned at the right place where your head is equidistant from the left edge of the tv, the middle of the tv and the right edge of the TV, it's just a gimmick.  It actually makes viewing angles for the TV from the side MUCH worse.
