Okay - doing a little math here... With 200 days to go, if you put only

$1.00 back per day - you would have $200 to spend on Black Friday

$5.00 back per day - you would have $1,000 to spend on Black Friday

$10.00 back per day - you would have $2,000 to spend on Black Friday

$20.00 back per day - you would have $4,000 to spend on Black Friday (and I want to go shopping with YOU!) ;)

There are 28 weeks until Black Friday. Assuming most of us probably get paid every other week, that's 14 paychecks (15 if this Friday is your pay day). If you put away $35/pay period, you'd have almost $500 to spend on Black Friday. That's $2.50 a day, roughly the price of one delicious iced coffee! :-)

I do budgets for a living. This is my thing.

Man, I know it's only June 1st but I'm really starting to itch for the Black Friday discussions to get going!!!  DVD's....small appliances....TVs....laptops....tablets....and a partridge in a pear tree!  I'm soooooo ready for the Gotta Deal Tshirt discussion and the what time to get in line, which store to go to first.....the "will amazon be matching that price?".....the "maybe I can get it all done on line"....and of course....the people who swear they aren't going because it's wrong to go on a day you are supposed to be with family.  I love it all and can't wait for it to get going again this year.  Been doing it for over 20 years now....a lot has changed but one thing hasn't....it's still a load of fun preparing for it!!!

Michelle....impatiently waiting for the black friday hooplah!!!

I was looking through some old emails to my bestie about wally world last year....found this:

Walmart was on the news this morning.  The story was saying how they are only doing the 6pm start time and how they aren’t really doing “doorbusters” this year…just having the 1 hour guarantee stuff and lots of good sales.  So pretty  much, everything is a go at 6pm.  So far, I’m after the Legos, the 28.00 tablet, and dvds.  At Kohls I’m after the comforters and maybe I can even get those earlier in the week on line.  I’m guessing Amazon will be doing lots of pre-sales, too.  On the actual Friday stuff maybe go over to the mall and hit the lego store to get their freebie and maybe my purse store (Vera Bradley) if they have a sale.  Decisions decisions decisions!!!

So that was my excitements last year!  What will be on the list this year!!!???  Kinda funny to read it 6 months later!

I have already starting thinking about and jotting down gift ideas. Money is going to be tighter this year so I will trying to get as many deals as possible. We don't head out shopping until dinner/dessert is done, everything is cleaned up and the guests have left which is about 8 pm.  The sooner those ads leak the better idea I will have of what my shopping will consist of and at what stores :cheesy:

I suppose I'm hoping for a cheap laptop.  Mine is 6 years old and desperately needs upgraded....maybe a new tablet, too.  Hubby would love to have a tv in the garage (I'll never see him if I get him one...hmmm....).  I'm sure "the boy" will want something electronic.  And...movies, movies, movies.

We will most likely be looking for a good deal on a 50" or 55" to replace the 42" in our bedroom. Want to move that one off to the guest room or office area.

You'll love having that 50/55 inch in bedroom!  We got one 2 years ago at 218.00 at wally world and it's been awesome....like having theater in the bedroom!

Looks like you will have 2 Xbox Ones to choose from. MS just announced the Xbox One S this week, supposed to support 4K (ya ya it's a gimmick lol) and VR with more powerful CPU/GPU. I'm not sure on pricing right now but supposed all games released will play on the One or One S.

I've been driving my DH nuts already. I've actually had free time (unusual) and been reading thru the BF archives. Making my list and figuring out a budget. So many people to buy for and we're building a house so I'm going to be looking at furniture and house accessories this year, will be fun! And a 32 inch TV because we only have a 19inch. I can barely see that little screen from five feet away.  Must get serious about saving money or I won't be able to get my house stuff and do Christmas presents the way I'd like to .

We usually have our TG dinner the weekend before for the sake of all our sanities, which leaves me, my mom and sister free to go shop till we drop! (And then I get to go chase a classroom of 2 year olds on 2 hours sleep and a pot of coffee!) Have to love BF! Only 148 days to go!

Wondering if you all can help me out PLEASE?...

I really need a new phone, mine dropped and cracked inside my shatterproof case. I usually do my major shopping for sm. appliances, tech stuff and all the kids toys on Black Friday ( I LIVE FOR THIS DAY)! But my question is I am looking at a Samsung Galaxy 4 or 5; or a Samsung Note 3 or 4 (all depending on deal/ price), should I break down and buy one now cause it doesn't go that low for Black Friday, or should I buy a cheap phone now (and case, etc) and wait, but am afraid there might be a better deal then???  :runaway:
