I am in need of a simple cell phone to just talk/text NO DATA.  I don't even want the option of the internet on the phone.  We have T-Mobile as a provider.  When I am in the stores looking at cell phones, does it have to be a T-mobile phone to work with my sim card?  Is there such a phone anymore that you have no rights to the internet even around wifi?  Thanks for the help!

You don't have to buy the phone from t-mobile... You just need a GSM phone that is compatible.

What is your budget?

Honestly the cheaper the better.  He is 16 and is very hard on things.

Come on Jrs, do me proud! 😀

This one is real cheap and looks like it should work.

Finding a phone that doesn't have wifi is a tall order... If texting is a need, I like the second one that Pnambic linked.  The full keyboard would really help with texting.

I imagine there is a reason why internet (even over wifi) is not wanted?

Sounds like someone may have lost those privileges?

Yes he lost those privileges.  I just need him to have a phone for my convenience of when he needs picked up from work/school etc.  So A simple Trac Phone will work with my T-Mobile sim card?

DD11 does not have a phone yet. I am seriously thinking about getting her a tracfone for Christmas. They are in quite a few Black Friday ads and will be under 10 for most. i want the smart phone that gives you triple minutes. So if I buy her a 60 minutes card it gives her 180 mins 180 text and 180 mbs.   Dollar general even has a pink one.

Not always...YMMV

You can get a Walmart Family Mobile phone and it should work.  Walmart has a tmobile prepaid phone like the one Pnambic suggested above for about $25 that has good reviews.
