2 weeks from tonight is Christmas Eve-are you ready?

So, who is done shopping and has everything wrapped (I haven't wrapped a single thing!); baking done and is just counting the minutes until the Big Day?

I am not very close as I still have lots of b&m shopping to do along with waiting for packages to arrive. I am cutting out baking this year: with kids' sporting events, music programs,Christmas parties and other things, I just won't have the time.

I hope to be able to report in a week's time that I am 80-85% done but I'm still putting up decorations lol!

Am I the only one woefully behind this year???

All presents bought and all wrapped that have arrived except for 2 and I am not expecting but 1 more package. I still need stocking stuffers for my mom, my dad, my DMIL and DFIL. Hope to do at least a little baking but we will see.  I want to take DD out to see Christmas lights one night too.

we just put up tree..didn't even finish decorating it...usually i do the whole thing the weekend after black friday.. i have a 3 foot tall one in my bedroom, and i think that will be MY focus tree this year..this year has been odd for the decorating...i started before thanksgiving, yet am so far behind now.i have a feeling i wont decorate to the fullest this year.Oddly ...im ok with that...

Good job ladies! :gdclap:

Speeddiva,my Kohls.com orders actually arrived quickly this year, but I remember sweating it out last year. They actually arrived in time but who needs that extra stress???

:)

It took them 9 days to even ship & FedEx is saying scheduled delivery Dec. 16. 17 days total! I'm so freakin angry.

Stevierocks, I envy your 60% wrapping completion! That is one of my most dreaded tasks.

I usually have a 2 ft. tree in my bedroom but have "mysteriously" lost a lot of my Christmas things this year and my little tree was one of the sad casualties.I always liked putting my little ornaments (like ones with my name on them) on that tree.

Since Thanksgiving was late,I feel the pressure even more!

I know it'll all get done but just wish I had more time to enjoy everything.

That's crazy!

Although,I have Amazon Prime (you know;2 day shipping) and something that was supposed to have arrived last Friday FINALLY arrived today (Tuesday) and I find that totally unacceptable. I guess turtles are delivering packages this year. I love the convenience of online shopping, but actually going to a store and having that purchase in hand is a very good thing too. Hoping your packages arrive in time and you have a very Merry Christmas!

Waiting on my Origami Owl shipment then I need to mail out my family's gifts this week. Also waiting on a trail camera to come in. Finished work SS gift yesterday. I just need a goodie for my two mutts and the gift giving is complete. Not looking like Christmas around my house yet but next year will be more festive.

Aside from exchange gifts I've only bought one present. One. Just been busy working and running the exchanges, and now I think I'm sick...

Oh no! That's no good! Hope you feel better quick!

Most of my presents are homemade baked goods and those are shipping out today, so that puts me at about 75% done. Just have dad's GCs and gag gift (for presentation of said GCs) and a couple of close friends left to buy for. Expect to finish shopping this weekend. Wrapping is done right before I head out to respective parties/houses (cats and ribbons? Yeah I don't think so! I don't need a vet bill! HA!).

Count me on the list of folks with stuff to do.  I am about 60% wrapped.  (Spent 6 hours this morning wrapping and ribbon-ing.   Those ribbons eat up most of the time!)

Dragged the tree and decorations out of my basement today and took it over to my parent's apartment and got their tree put up.   Chased dad out of the presents 2x.  (Boy it's going to be a long 2 weeks!!)  Had to keep chasing mom out of the decorations...."Mom what are you doing?!?!".   Turns out that they are having a holiday decoration contest at the old people's home.  And mom just decided that moment, since I brought all the decorations over, that she was not only going to decorate her doorway...but she also wanted to win that contest!

Still have all the cookies to bake too.  All the items... including my softened butter.... has been sitting on my counter all week.

I'm almost finished. Still waiting on a few packages to arrive. Need to pick up a few more from the store. Done shopping for everybody but my son, dad, teachers and daughter's bff's. Got lot's of candy making to do this coming weekend though, ugh!

Oh just wanted to add...as far as wrapping goes, I do most of my wrapping right then and there. Once I buy something or it comes through the mail, it gets wrapped the same day. Most of the time anyways.

I'm done shopping, outside of some McDonalds gc and oranges for the stockings.  Oh, and lottery tickets.

I have wrapped nothing.  I don't know if I think elves are going to do it for me, but I just can't get the motivation to do it.  Right now all my kids' presents are at my office.  I use the argument that if I wrap all the gifts and take them home, the boys will drive me up the wall wanting to open them.  Does anybody want to come wrap them all for me?  I can pay you with chocolate covered pretzels and lasagna.  LOL

I'm all done shopping and wrapping, and I hear that Santa has all my kids' presents wrapped and ready to go under the tree. Mailed out my cards on the 2nd, so that's done.  My cookie baking day in the 22nd.  I really feel like I'm on the ball this year! I'm usually not this ready.  I've actually been done and ready for a little over a week now. (Whaaaat??)  But I did start shopping earlier this year, so that made a big difference.

We've already seen Santa at the mall, seen Transiberian Orchestra when they came to town (even though it sucked, we had fun), and we have Breakfast with Santa on Sunday.  We were going to take the kids to the Festival of Lights at Oglebay but with this snow coming in tomorrow we cancelled that and will just go driving around town to look at lights instead. The kids have one week of school and then they're both off from Dec 23rd - Jan 5th!  We are getting so excited! They keep trying to get me to give them some of their presents from under our "family tree."

I'm in!!  I'll take that payment any day of the week!

Oh no, why was TSO bad? My mom and i are going to see them a couple of days before christmas.

Have you ever seen the movie Spinal Tap?  It was along those lines. It started out weird but then they went into a soaring guitar version of The First Noel and we were like ok here we go.  But then it all went downhill.  They had a narrator telling some nonsensical story about a business man and a girl in a Russian coat and babies and something...it was hard to follow.  And they played the Christmas songs we expected but they were scattered throughout some other really bad (like cheesy bad) songs, and girls who couldn't sing whipping their hair around and dancing.  And the computer graphics from 1998 that they used as their background...hilarious.  You'll get to see a poorly animated tiger run down like 5 hallways and have the gates shut. Also a dragon. Good times.  And the whole second half of the show isn't Christmas...it's songs from their albums, and I didn't even know they did stuff other than Christmas.  (After hearing it at the concert I now know why I hadn't heard.) But if you can tough it out through that second half (get some nachos or something), they do end with Carol of the Bells. It was amazing how many people left. In fact, when the violin player went to get on his little platform thingy out in the audience for Carol of the Bells he had to wait for a line of people who were leaving to get by first.(Awkward.) We expected a Christmas rock show.  Go into it with the idea that you'll have fun and that the whole thing is ridiculous and a bit embarrassing and you'll be prepared. Wait til you get to hear one of the Stevie Nicks wannabe ladies murder Oh Come All Ye Faithful.  Lol

i am SO jealous of some of you... I have NEVER been as far behind on things as I am this year... my dining room looks like a disaster zone with wrapping paper, ribbons and gifts sprawled out everywhere waiting on me to wrap... no decorating has been done (other than a wreath on the front door), no cookies have been baked, still waiting on shipments from at least 5 stores - and I have 9 days to pull it all together as the family all gathers at my place on Christmas Eve! :(  I need some of whatever Brad takes to stay awake and post all those hot deals during Black Friday week and Cyber week to get all this done!!! Hubby has been working overtime and son is graduating early - so between cramming for finals and his job - neither can help me out! I need to call Santa and see if he can loan me a few elves for a week! ;)

I THOUGHT I would be further ahead this weekend, but even with staying in all day yesterday because of the snow,I basically got nothing done and still NOTHING WRAPPED!!!!!!

I'm not panicked yet....but if I don't get all my deliveries (I'm still waiting on things ordered with Prime that was supposed to be here last Weds and are not!!!) this week,I'm going to be screwed  . Santa might be issuing some IOUs. I will need to get rid of the kids next weekend and wrap, wrap, wrap. I don't like running this far behind but with waiting on packages, working, music programs, basketball games, and Christmas parties it is just that way this year.

Not going to let it ruin my spirit though!

I finished my shopping this weekend, but I have wrapped nothing.  I hate wrapping and usually wait until the night before Christmas Eve. I've always shipped my boys off to their Gra-ma's house to spend the night that night.  This year, my oldest son and his wife and their 2 children live with me, so that old plan doesn't really work anymore :).  Everything is in my office, because there is NOWHERE to hide anything at my house (we're a little full, lol).  I was thinking I would come in next weekend and get everything wrapped and store it in the back of my car.  Now they're saying we may get another round of winter weather move in Friday and Saturday, so that may be too big a gamble.  I'll probably stay late at the office tonight and get everything wrapped, then load it in my car no later than Friday.  I'm a little nervous about that because I'm afraid of someone breaking into the car, but with a little luck and a lotta prayer, hopefully they'll be safe.

I could never wait until xmas eve. I wrap close to 100 presents between my 4 grandkids and my own 3 kids. Now 3 of my grandkids aren't coming to Illinois for xmas like they are court ordered and I have to mail out their packages. Over 24 total presents to mail. Not looking forward to that expense.

I was done with the kids until I checked a few sites yesterday: ended up ordering from Amazon, Best Buy and Target. I've gotten shipping notices for everything except a game and movie from Target. All the gifts that are at the house are wrapped and labeled except for those that I choose to leave unwrapped.

I still need to finish shopping for DH and my mom (gift cards). Then it's only grocery shopping and picking up batteries :)

We finished off a couple more people over the last couple of days. Will finish another tonight. I have all except stocking stuffer's and maybe some footie pj's for my wife. As for wrapped we have nothing really wrapped except the stuff my wife took to work for her angel tree child. All 4 of the trees are now decorated all the inside of the house is decorated except a couple things that keep falling for some reason. Santa is in the yard and some outside lights are up. Getting closer but it's been so hectic at home and work lately it seems it's still going to be some last minute things popping up.
