OK, everybody stop freaking out about wrapping, lol!  Let it go for this year.  I think the important thing is everyone gets a gift, which they didn't have to buy themselves.  Heck, that alone is a BIG PLUS.  We can work on the wrappings, should we or shouldn't we next year.  Just my two cents!  I'm just excited by the fun of it all.  Can it be better?  Yes, but it is the SPIRIT OF GIVING that is important.  Let's enjoy the fun.

Thank you for the helpful suggestion. I am not one to post much. Not because I don't want to, but because I am rather shy. Yes, even online. I worry if what I type will be misunderstood, my humor not coming across, or just not wanting to be 'center of attention' for that moment. I have been a member for so long that I figured it was time to give back and participate, so I shall try all I can to increase my posts in the correct manner. :)

I thought it was only me that felt this way!! I love GD and all the posts, the deals, advice. BUT I don't post often because I don't know how it comes across and I am extremely shy!! Sometime I even think who wants to hear what I'm rambling about (can you tell I have kids and a hub, lmao).

I have watched the exchange and thought about it, figured because I don't post a lot I shouldn't.

I can't wait until next year!! I was just seeing the card one and would to have loved to do this! I never have anyone to but cards for lol.

To Gatorpam et al....I won't worry about the wrapping...especially if you ordered something online that is perfect and had it sent as a gift.  I had that dilema too...somethings aren't really wrappable.   I sent one packed off with everything wrapped and the other with everything unwrapped.

I suppose we could always email the Chef Elf and ask her to relay the message that a "package is coming unwrapped and to not open the box if you want to save the package for Christmas".

These exchanges are always so much fun.  :trampolin  I enjoy seeing the pics and hearing about the goodies that everyone has received.

I opted not to do the exchange one year because wrapping was such a big issue and wrapping is hit or miss with me.  But I missed it so much I came back the next year. :)

Ok, there are a number of you that have not sent me tracking numbers. Some have been in touch regarding shipping issues and I appreciate the updates. I'm going to be busy today (DD is in a light parade tonight) but I'll be expecting to see a lot of PMs tonight! If you haven't been in touch with me and I don't hear from you by tonight then you can expect a PM from me. Don't make me have to bring out the naughty list... please...

SS gift sent tonight. Should be there by Thursday. I didn't wrap but I did put a note on the outside of my box that it's not wrapped inside and to wait until Christmas for it to be a surprise! I apologize to my ss for the late shipping...I didn't forget you, I promise. Just a little too much going on. I really do hope that you enjoy (and get a lot of use out of) your gift! Merry Christmas! :)

Got SS and OE gifts mailed yesterday, pogiporkchop I emailed you tracking #'s.

Another suggestion for next year, please make sure you elaborate on your answers to the survey by being more specific.  Examples: Do you like to read? don't just say yes if you do, put your fav. authors or the genres you like reading (romance, thrillers, sci fi, ect.). Do you have hobbies? if you do, please list what they are.  Favorite music? please list genre as well as some of your favorite artists as there is a wide variety of artists in each genre.  Candles/lotions, list your favorite scents or types of scents (floral, holiday, berry, ect) and maybe ones you really dislike so your person knows to avoid that one.  I've had years where my person hardly put anything on their survey and it made it really hard to shop for them.  I think it's safe to say we all really want to do well by our SS and OE people and get them gifts they will really enjoy.

Remember that the person who gets your name doesn't know you at all.  The survey is the only glimpse we have into your likes/dislikes.  Don't be afraid to put something you really want/need, you might get it :)

My gift came yesterday.  I was so beat after a long day of work so I didn't open it till this morning.

I received 2 Pez dispensers...  1 Hello Kitty and 1 My Melody.

a Hello Kitty bag

a gift set from BBW ...Fresh sparkling snow with hand sanitizer, soap, and a candle

3 pairs of socks...love socks. I can never have enough

a bag of peppermints ... I love peppermint anything

and 2 gifts that are wrapped.  ...You sneaky little secret santa.  I so want to open them now.  They are peak proof. I think one is a book and the other I can't tell.  Hopefully nothing breaks with me shaking it.

a huge peppermint stick ... thank you so much for that.  my grandfather used to give me one every Christmas.  He has been gone now for 10 years and with my grandmother passing this year. This really struck a cord with me and brought me to tears.

Thank you so much.

As most of you know, it's been a craptastic year for me and I'm not participating but.....when I got home on Thursday there was a package at my door.  I have everything I order shipped to work in case it needs a signature so I had no idea what this could be and it turns out it was a Secret Santa gift!  Thank you to the sweet, sweet person(s) who kept me in mind this year.  I cried for a least 5 minutes that someone was thinking about me.  I'm going to wait til Christmas to open it but I wanted you to know it was received.  THANK YOU.

Also, thank you for the Christmas cards - I'm going to get mine out whenever this ice melts. (And get a coffee, thanks to Hockeyfanamo!).

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.  You all truly ARE family!

As of now I have five people (who have been in touch) who are late but with valid reasons. Unfortunately there are three people I have not heard from. If I do not receive word by tomorrow night elves will need to be called into action, so elves please stand by...

how rotten!!!

can you contact those 3 people? hopefully they have good reasons too...and /or have already shipped and just failed to tell you.

I don't know if my pictures are working or not, I consider myself technically able but I can never figure out how to get a picture on here!  ANYWAY...

I received my ornaments today and I LOVE them!  I received a Lenox reindeer and a Lenox snowman.  I also got a stand for displaying one of them in my office. There was also a card with a Santa Claus button, AND, a bag of peanut clusters - YUM!

Thank you so so much Candy

Such fun! I come in here every day now just to get a smile from all the goodies all the SS's are sending out. Brings me joy to see others receiving so much joy. :) And so very awesome to hear packergurl24 got her very own SS delivery! :trampolin

Hope the ones that hadn't gotten back to pogi yet have now. Otherwise, we elves stand at the ready. :holiday11

I had two packages waiting for me when I got home! Thank you to my OE person for for a very thoughtful package including a candy container for each of my kids, a pocket planner, Christmas trivia card game, stress relief hand cream from BBW and even a can of snow for the ShiShi clan! (The ornament is a light up snowman on an ice cube, pic to follow.) The other is from Reinholt1's mom, who I played SS to in addition to my SS. Hey, this is one heavy box... Oh YUM!! Three cheeses straight from Michigan State's dairy plant, summer sausage, crackers, MI cherry preserves, homemade raspberry liqueur and hot fudge dessert topping... and even Meijer plastic bags! Might be odd that I would get so excited about plastic bags but the whole family misses Meijer stores. Thank you so much both of you... I better eat while I can because when the rest of the family gets home there will be nothing left guaranteed!

No matter how much I tried to wait until Christmas to open my SS gift, I just couldn't do it. The temptation was just too strong! I love my gifts and the letter. My SS is so thoughtful and generous. I'm really touched that my SS took such care into picking out the gifts. Thank you so much. You really made my day. My family and I don't celebrate Christmas. So, it's really nice to receive a gift.

Wrapped:

Popcorn, Argo Tea, Mojito mix, a box of Skittles (loooove them - I'm such a Skittles junkie!), and a Lavender lip balm.

Thank you, again.

YOU GUYS!!!

TWO more packages came today! I am so shocked and moved by your kindness, concern, and generosity. You all are making me hopeful that 2014 is going to be better.

The mail was delivered while I was in the shower and since my mailbox won't close because of the ice, my boyfriend got it off the porch. He's such a nosy Nancy, especially when he hears candy, so he opened BOTH my packages.

One package had a wrapped gift (in blue) that thankfully he didn't open and which is now under my tree with Thursday's box, and the other package had a box of peppermint tea, which I love, my 2 favorite candies, Reese's and Twix, and a Starbucks card. If there was something else, I can guarantee my bf confiscated it. He was acting a little shady :)

But seriously y'all, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. You all have put me on the path to a better attitude and outlook and I can't thank you enough. Thank you.
