Hey guys, anyone know if you can unzip a zip file on the host through direct admin or possibly through like WS_FTP? IE: I just uploaded a file to my server, and it has all my php pages, images, ETC all zipped up in their own folders and I want it to extract on the server harddrive.

If you have shell access to your site you can do it that way. I am not fully familiar with the ways of DA yet. To do this in the shell you can type the following: unzip -v archive.zip replace 'archive.zip' with whatever your zip file name is. :fedora:

As far as I know the only way to do this is to FTP or SCP the tar.gz or zip file and then expand it in the shell. That said, it's not technically impossible to do this through a script (like the filemanager).

More info on uploading files in DA can be found here:

I noticed with CPanel's FileManager script, when you unzip your .zip files, it won't let you use FileManager to delete them anymore. Basically the owner of the unzipped files is not you anymore.

Yes, that's the owner 'nobody' which is the process that Apache runs under.
