got my 3rd craft show this weekend so yeah i've been a craft making fool lol... but also working on some gifts. Everyone in the family is probably gonna get a cord wrapped ornament, an ecofriendly heating pad and some more homemade stuff.. just gotta finish up this weekend and come up with some more ideas :) Was supposed to do the all day baking day with mom this friday but i think we're gonna be too busy getting ready for the show to do it :(

What are the eco-friendly heating pads?

I make a lot of candy and give to neighbors and family. I will cover pretzels tomorrow, then peanut butter and chocolate fudge, 2 batches each, seafoam candy, divinity, buckeyes, homemade marshmallows, peanut butter almond bark, english toffee. I do a batch of something every few days.

Your plans sound a lot like mine for the holidays/gift giving but I haven't even started yet!

Does it count if I most of the supplies on hand? ;)

Part of me doesn't want to start too early (freshness and quality being an issue) but if it gets too late into the season,

I fear I won't have time to do anything.

I usually start my holiday baking 2 weeks before Christmas.

What are the eco-friendly heating pads?

lol.. they are fabric bags I sew filled with beans or feed corn that you can heat in the microwave... I sell them at craft shows and they seem very popular right now :) I originally was calling them hillbilly heating pads but didn't wanna offend anyone so I'm now calling them natural comfort heating pads at shows lol

tried to post a pic of them but don't have the pic on any photo sharing sites so I just created an album in my profile if you wanna see what these are lol

Seafoam candy is made similar to peanut brittle, but it has vinegar in teh sugar syrup. When you add the baking soda it foams up quite tall. You pour it in a pan . Hallmark stores with candy sell it . You break it into fat chunks when it cools and can dip in chocolate if you want.

What is seafoam candy?

Wish we had a recipe exchange on here for your favorite holiday recipe? I always prefer the tried and true over the magazine type ones.

I am doing all of my baking tomorrow with a friend, I begged my mom and sister to do a day with me and they won't so I decided to find someone else that will! We are starting out doing the tour of home and then going to bake we are just doing a larger batch of everything and then going to split everything! as for the crafting, yes I have about 1/2 of what I'm making for crafts done just have to finish up a couple of things I love doing those gifts!

What about a pic of the cord wrapped ornament? I'm not sure if I have seen that before.

Can we turn this into a recipe exchange? I'd like the sea foam recipe. I will post a fudge recipe for dark chocolate cherry fudge in a little while if agreed upon by all

sounds like a good idea to me. I would love that recipe for the dark chocolate cherry fudge and the sea foam.

I made some cookies with whatever I had in the kitchen tonight... didn't measure a thing, didn't check what temp DH had the stove on but they turned out perfect! That reminds me I need to make my traditional secret recipe peppercookies soon - got lots of honey that needs to be used up.
