I'm open to the idea but I have no idea what a "coupon train" is?

Haha, open to the idea before knowing what it is?

a train is when you have about 5 or 6 people and the first person the "conductor" gets together say 25 or 50 or what ever the amount the group decides on. The first person sends to the second, the second person takes what they want and replaces it with the same about of cnps they took outfor ex if you took 5 you ad 5. this goes around and around until it gets back to the conductor. and if everyone is still interested they start it back up again.

I trains I have been on in the past are spec trains like just food or cleaning. Since my kids are older I an not in need of baby things. Also no internet cnps or restaurant, just MFG CNPS.

Hope I explained it well enough

Another board I'm on does this but I think without the number restrictions...you take out what you need, you put in what you can--maybe at least the number you took out, but I don't think there's any maximum number you can add. The problem with doing it here is I don't know people well enough to just start handing out my address randomly...my other board is a locked forum and we've all known each other for 3+ years.

The trains I have been on the past have been if you take 5 you add 5 so there is always the same amount so everyone gets a good chance to for some good cnps.

I like trains, but on the other hand I do not. There is always someone who does not send out the enive when they should.

Maybe after the holidays this would be a good idea when everyone has a better chance to get to know everyone

This wouldn't be a locked forum but I'd like participants to have references from the "coupon community".

Any ideas on how we can do this?

Yeah, but anyone could shell out $5 for a list of addresses...not that I think we have a bunch of psycho stalkers lurking here, but I want to know that whoever I'm giving my address to is a real person...you know? Not just have all my info on a list being circulated at random.

Heh. Obviously not you. I just realize that there are many, many people who view these forums, and trolls are everywhere. You'll notice I don't even post with my name. So giving out my address...only something I do when I feel like I "know" the person, or at least know they're legit.

Well, we should wait a few months and see who is still here say in the spring. By then we should know more about everyone who is here.

I've never been part of a "coupon community" so I wouldn't have any references. Would I still be able to join? {{ Insert boo-boo face here}}

Lucky can vouch for me! Right Lucky???? where is she??

I am very interested also. Some of the trains I have been on in the past have a limit on how many stamps a envie should take...say, max 2 or 3 stamps. Whatever everyone agree's on. Oh, they also agree on no more than "X" number of like coupons in each train. You don't want an envie full of hair coloring coupons, do you? LOL

Yeah Flowergal sends out coupons all the time LOL! I send em to her too.........all the darn Scotts TP coupons I can find BAHAHAHAHA!!!! (scotts TP SUCKS!)

I agree a train would probably wait until after the holidays. Get to know each other a bit and let people do private trading so they know who all had their addy.

Another way to do it is have the organizer of the train hold all the addys and PM who to send to next, that way the STALKER freaks would only have ONE addy LOL! And YES they are out there...........I just got rid of some dude from Alabama who stalked me all over the net, Ask Flowergal, we had to ban the nut from our board

hmm i was thinking maybe i could coordinate (what a way to spend sunday evenings, let the bf watch football or whatever, and i can mail out coupons.)

i was trying to compute the postage cost though. (AIEEEEE)

but i have lsat's in feb and i should ideally be studying. but one night a week shouldn't kill me... i spend most of my weekends out and about anyways.

i guess we can come up with the logistics after the holidays.

KMA Ross, I'm ALWAYS right honey!

Freesia, trains don't work like that. it goes from person to person.

Ooh, I like that idea--the coordinator having the addresses. So if you coordinated, RossMan, you would make a list of who is in the train, in what order. You'd send each member of the train only the address of the person they send to. And then you'd send to the first person, they'd have the address of person 2, person 2 has the address of person 3, etc. Would that work? That way only a guaranteed "legit" person would have all the info.
