I was assuming it would come with a Celeron, 80GB, CD-RW and no monitor.

Seems like the parts would cost more than this package....

Hmm...yet another temptation....my wife is going to kill me if I buy another computer.

There's also a Celeron D for $50 less. Same features. Is it worth $50 more for Pentium 4?

The LCD alone turns it into a sub-$200 PC. This would have been great for my friend who got that same Compaq you got for $200, then spent about $800 on RAM, a dual-head video card and two 19" LCDs. (he really knows how to kill a good deal)

Granted it's an analog LCD, but that doesn't make much difference to me.

I think I am getting this for my mom. I am going to give Dell a call first. They promised me a coupon for the remote I couldn't purchase and I have not received it. That would be nice to use with this purchase.

Definitely call Dell and ask for your concession coupon then place your order online.

Any idea how much of a coupon they offered you?

This is a decent machine, however I would upgrade the ram to 1GB and order the Windows XP Home CD for $10.

Need reply immediately. Is it worth $50 more for the Pentium 4 than the Celeron D?

it depends if you need it. if you do the basics, web browsing, word processing.. you only need a celeron.

but if you do more with your pc. video/sound editing/records, playing video games, multitask a lot, you'd def need the P4 for only $50

Nice. I couldn't buy this because we use our oven occasionally.

I just got in on the 5150 deal from 2 Saturday's ago, so I've got to pay that off of my CC before I jump on anything else.

The 2007FPW looks beautiful on the desk, btw. I'm loving it.

Ross - Is the $35 off purchases $300 off coupon for Electronics and Accessories something that would apply to this?

It shouldn't as this isn't an E&A (digicam, LCD, printer, etc.) purchase but it has been known to work in the past.

There are plenty at eBay for $2. It also works for computer purchases. The code will send you to instantly by e-mail.

I have a code for $35 off but it isn't accepting it with this computer. I wonder how the ones on ebay are different that they would work with this system?

You're already getting it for $399 - $50 = $349 I'd say it's a good deal and buy it before the e-value code expires.

Then I'll hop onto AIM and tell you (again) "told ya so"

Tax + shipping makes the system $449.40 - $50 = $399.40. Good deal but if all it takes to save $35 is a coupon, why not?

Is there a difference between the coupons on Ebay and the coupon I have?

One thing I like about Dell is that they market computers the cheapest and they never run out of stock. I don't even need to go out and waste my car gas.

I've decided to buy the one with the Celeron processor because it's a better value for my money. The Pentium 4 B110 is only about $40 more than the Celeron one on eBay . It doesn't worth much.

To make it more of a better value, I will sell the 19" LCD monitor for about $240 on eBay and replace it to a Dell CRT monitor that I can get for only $60 new on eBay .

If yours is a $35 off $300 E&A, nope.

Well, my mom is the happy owner of a pretty sweet machine. It's better than mine. The total was $412.65 and I should get $50 back for the concession. After all is done, it should be $362.65.

Or better yet, I found a new, sealed Dell 17" E773C CRT monitor for the B110 desktop on Craigslist for $40. That's even better value. I'm saving $200 by not going with a 19" LCD monitor. I'm picking it up tomorrow and can't wait to dump the LCD monitor that came with the computer.

Total cost to own this new computer with CRT monitor and Dell printer: $240.

Sweet price, she'll be very happy.

If anyone is selling the LCD, I'm looking for a 19" LCD for my grandparents.
