So as you can all clearly see, aside from a super-early Ace Hardware ad, you shouldn't really expect to see ads until mid-October. Of course that can always change this year, but going by the past 4 years, the trend is definitely there.

This is how I search older ads for specific things:

Example:

2008: http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/2008.txt

I click on the link to the ad then hit "Control + F" and the Find box comes up. I then enter what I'm looking for such as Vtech. I can then go through each instance where it has shown up at each store and compare prices and see all Vtech items.

I hope this helps.

Not to get too excited, but if the numbers from previous years hold up, then we should see a Harbor Freight ad sometime this week, and maybe SEARS !

That was my thought, but that means we should have had 3 by now!

I'm not really surprised Ace didn't come out. Several stores in my vicinity closed over the past year. SEVERAL!

Ace already sent a letter warning us not to post it but that they'd send us the finalized ad in early November. The message was posted weeks ago in the "Other Stores" subforum.

OK, first week of November. Based on past years, we should get some nice ads over the next week. Maybe Kmart , Walgreens and Lowes has their "sneak preview" on their site this week.

You can see why Sears is not complaining about their ad. I think it was put out on purpose to go with their 'Door Buster' sales each week. They are trying to get a head start on sales .

Salesman in Sears was telling me yesterday that on the 15th they will be having a "friends and family" sale....appliances will be 20% plus an additional 10% off sale. Specific hours, but durn it, I can't remember when they are. Not that great I know, but not too bad either. Better than a sharp stick in the eye.

On those past lists of ad dates, it would be good to see what date BF fell on each year, too:

2009: 11/27
2008: 11/28
2007: 11/23
2006: 11/24
2005: 11/25
2004: 11/26

So as far as "big" ads we're still waiting on Walmart , Best Buy and Toys R Us . We know when WM will be posted (at the latest).

Funny how quickly we went from "where are the ads?" to having only a few big ones left.

But there are still a lot of the small to medium size stores to come out.
