Those with pellet stoves... How do you like it? with rising gas prices, my husband wants to put one in. Does it actually heat the house and is it SAFE?

I spent some time at the Stove store today... I think I am going to do it (though not from them) as a supplementary system to my oil heat. We're thinking our stimulas check ought to cover the cost of the stove, and installation, if we are lucky.

with oil costs expected to be around 5.00/gallon this season... and we typically use 900+ gallons...well, do the math.

It appears to be as safe as a wood stove, much cleaner, and put off at least as much heat.

Just bought our stove 3 weeks ago. Due in for delivery in one more week... We got the santa Fe Model pellet stove with additional remote, log set, etc... We shouldn't really have to use our furnace this year so Im happy about that.

We bought a ton of pellets too... $250 so I would LOVE a free ton now. lol

I have my new stove sitting in the garage - it still needs to be installed. CAN't BUY pellets around here - everyone has waiting lists... and $250 is 25-75 cheaper than here... wow. too bad gas is so much or I'd rent a Uhaul and take a road trip

Since buying our pellets from the Custom Fireplace store, they are no longer allowed per supplier to order buy the season (a ton). By the bag only. Thankfully I ordered 3 weeks ago. They said my order is fine, but due to overwhelming demand of the pellets, they cut it off and can only sell them per bag now to customers.... Thankfully we timed it pretty well.

have successfully cut my oil useage... not quite 50% but... not bad. Still, a free ton of pellets would be great!

the heating season is almost over... used roughly 4 ton of pellet. had less than 500 gal oil delivered.. yay. winning a ton would be a great way to start for next season!
