If you can use them, it is a much sweeter deal to buy 6 of the Wii games because you can use THREE of those $10/2 off coupons. They go through the register just fine even though you are technically only actually paying for 4 games. For instance, if you bought 6 of the Wii titles priced at $14.99 each, you would actually only end up paying $4.99 for each one if you used the coupons.
Great for stocking up on gifts, but if you can't use them, then I guess it's sort of a mute point. The titles that I wanted to buy ranged in price from $30-$50, but to me, it was still a great deal to get them at about 1/2 price. |

The coupon book was in the toy section at my store. Attached to the side of an endcap. There was a bunch.

After finding the Target coupon link and the Leapfrog link I printed 3 each of the $10 off Tag and got 3 Tag Jr.s for $8.99 each! I had Leapfrogs $5 off Tag Jr just in case they wouldn't let me use the $10 ones but there wasn't any problem! Cashier was like "wow you got a great deal on those!"
Leapfrog has $3 off the books and think TRU has them for $7.99 so that would be $4.99 each, wonder if they will be any cheaper. I'm buying for 3 grandkids (2 girls, 1 boy) so need several of each! Thanks for all the great deal postings! |

Calling deal experts.
Which is the better deal on Wii/DS games. The Target sale with printed coupons or the TRU 2 day sale B1G50%?

I have a question for those of you who are price matching and using the coupons. Are you buying the items at Target price with the coupons at the register and then just going to customer service to get the price adjusted afterwards? Last week when I got an item price matched, they told me I had to buy the item at customer service. I just couldn't imagine that they would let you price match at customer service and then also take the coupons. Could someone please let me know how this works. I don't want to get there and then have them tell me that I can't use the coupons if I price match. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, I went yesterday and I checked out at customer service so that they could price match the TRU ad and then gave them the coupons.

They didn't give you any problems? The employees at mine didn't even want to do the price match. They acted almost as if I was stealing from them. I can't imagine how they are going to act if I give them coupons on top of it.

Printed out the coupons finally. Before that I went to the store and asked for the book but they knew nothing about them. They were all running around like crazy getting the Christmas stuff scanned and on the shelves. It sounded like they had a big competition between two teams or something. No one was focused on the customers... they were very involved with their goal I guess.

Let's say TRUS has something on sale for $15 and Target has it for $20... If you buy the Target item for $20 and want to use a $10 Target store coupon AND (this is important), the coupon ATTACHES to the item on the receipt and shows that the item only cost $10, then (supposedly), Target will not price match for you since with their coupon, you only paid $10 and TRUS price is $15. You can't get the price match of $15 AND use the Target coupon for another $10 off. HOWEVER... If the coupon does NOT attach to the item (and that does happen occasionally--like the Wii coupons). If the coupon only appears at the bottom of your receipt as "Target Coupon", you should be able to easily take the item to customer service and get the price match. (It might be a good idea to have other things on your receipt though, so that it's not so obvious that you would have had to use the coupon on the item you are price matching.) My example would be the Tinkerbell movie. I bought it through the checkout line for $15.99 and used a $10 manufacturer coupon. That coupon did NOT attach to the movie, but rather just showed up at the bottom as $10 off. When I went to CS for the price match, they only saw that I paid $15.99 for the movie, and didn't question me about all the coupons at the bottom of my receipt. So they did my price match to $13.99. Had the coupon attached to the movie and they saw that I only paid $5.99 for it, they would have given me trouble about price matching. But, I ended up getting the movie for $3.99 because it didn't attach. Most Target coupons WILL attach to the item and adjust the price within the body of the receipt, but there are times when the coupons don't attach and just appear at the bottom of the receipt. I think I have this right, but someone feel free to correct me if I don't. This has just been my experience and what I've heard from others. |

well, that was not the experience that i had today at target with the price matching and coupons. It does say on their site that you should check out and then go to the customer service desk to get the price adjustment, but when i went today i just went straight to the CS counter (i only had one item) and i didn't ask the regular cashier what to do - i just went to the CS counter.
I gave it to her and said "i need this price adjusted" - gave her my TRU catalog already turned to the page and she rang it up with the price adjusted right there, and then took my 2 coupons for it (1 manu, and 1 target) and said "wow, i should shop with you" - no problem at all - so obviously their registers CAN do this - now whether they will do it or not remains to be seen and might just be on a case by case basis - but i did ask her when i left that i had another item that i needed to have price adjusted but that i'd be in tomorrow to do it - i asked if i just bring it to CS to have it done and she said "yep, just bring it up here and we can pa it for you - otherwise you are going to have to go thru the line, pay for it, and then get a pa on it after the fact" |

I just don't know exactly what their policy is, but have heard that they aren't supposed to price match if the Target coupon brings the price lower than the competitors price. But, it's a relatively new program (price matching), so it's probably open to lots of interpretation among the cashiers/employees. So, if it works, I say go for it!! Maybe someone knows the exact policy and can chime in. I'd love to know if they are, in fact, supposed to price match with a competitor and also take the Target coupon off on top of the price match. THAT would be great!

here is the price match policy - it does state that it will not match prices on "coupons" - but the way i read that is that they will not give you $5 off of an item if Walgreens has a $5 Walgreens coupon for the item - the ad would actually have to say "19.99" and not "14.99 after $5 off coupon in Walgreens ad" -
http://pressroom.target.com/pr/news/...ise-facts.aspx and here is the coupon policy http://www.target.com/b/ref=br_bx_4/...ode=2223357011 |

Thank you for pointing out the online coupons for the wii games.
I got 49.99 Mario Cart 49.99 Wii Sports Resort (only 1 wii motion plus. the game with 2 wii motions was 59) 49.99 Disney Sing It Pop Hits (newest one) 19.99 Cooking Mama cookoff 14.99 M&Ms Beach Party 14.99 Block Party (20 games) Subtract one 49.99 game and one 14.99 game. Then take off 3 $10-off-two-game coupons (30 total), final price was $104.96. I am going to take the Wii Sports Resort game back the next time I'm there, and trade it in towards the one with the two Wii Motions. I might also trade the Mario Cart in for the new Mario Bros when it comes out. The selection wasnt the best, and they were out of a few games I would have wanted. Some other games are still priced at 49, while they're only around 29 at walmart . So know your game prices going in. One thing I would recommend, is that you give them the items in price order so you get the most money off. I had to do mine twice. At first they did two expensive games and then a cheap game, and it took off the cheap game, as it was the third (free) one. Also check for the 14.99 games up by the registers. There are like 8 titles to choose from. |
