I'm thinking this is a scam but at this point they are not asking for any personal information so I thought I would see if anyone else here had gotten one of these or even remembers a contest like this one.

I have gotten about a hundred of these or similar, all based out of the UK. I remember a bunch of people signed up for a freebie several months ago and someone noted they thought it was fraudalent and it was based out of the UK, strange now all these are showing up in peoples email. I have to delete about 6 or so a day out of my spam folder.

I get these all the time now also. I just received one yesterday that was suppose to be from coke according to the email. I was going to report it to cike but when I went to their site they already have a spot telling people of the fake winning emails

Hello!

I am new here. How do I post a sweepstake I found. I am not allowed to post anything.

When I try to post, I am told > "You do not have enough posts on the forum yet to include URLs or images in your posts. This is to prevent spam. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please PM an admin if you need a link included in your post."

Yet when i try to PM, I am told > "You dont have enough points to PM."

Talk about a Catch-22 situation.

It's used as a precaution to keep people from registering and starting to spam the boards with stuff. I think you just have to be here a little while or make a few posts in other threads and you can do it.

I don't like them, either. First of all, my auto-complete never works on their sites. Plus, I get sick of seeing the exact same 3-row-fruit-slot machine on every one of them. Booooring. Never won on any of them, either.

You can still paste the URL it just won't show up as a link. Then people wanting to visit the site will have to copy/paste the URL into their browser. Usually a member here will help out by replying with the clickable link. Just make a few more posts, or create a thread, you'll have the ability to post links in no time!

That's what I do too. I click the login button, type my e-mail address, hit the tab button, and then enter my password. Click submit, continue, get sad, close window. :D

My question is about instant win games and the "click here if you do not have flash" button. (Sometimes it says "click here if you can't see the game")
I usually click these so I won't have to sit through the game, and it takes me strait to the results page. I was just wondering if it affects your chances of winning at all. It don't seem like it does, but I've never won a game after clicking that button :g_shrug:

It, of course, depends on what it is. If I like/want/need it, I keep it. Otherwise I am likely to give them as gifts, to my kids, or our friends or family. I do not hide that it is a win.

Sometimes I trade with other GDers :)

I went to www.roboform.com but I did leave out my SS number and of course my

The biggest thing I've won is a $1000 supercertificate. I got to go on their website and pick out any number of gift certs to equal $1000 (drugstore.com, overstock.com, old navy, marshall's, dave & busters, bennigans, linens n things, etc.). In fact, dh and I went out just last night to spend some of it on our dinner and clothes shopping.

I use the google toolbar for autofill.

amyers12345

Someone around here usually snatches them before I can even think what to do with it.

I did keep my transitions win for myself, and bought myself some flip flops with my Adidas GC, along with some for the kids.

I sold our Nascar tickets because it would have cost a fortune to go. I wish DH would have let me sell the PSP, because he lost his charger power cord. He unplugged it and stuck it on top of the pile of stuff I put in the yard sale. Well, the cord fit perfectly in our old PS1, so I sold it with it. The PS1 cord won't fit the PSP. Go figure.

There is a free version of it, but you are limited to the number of passwords you can save. I know it used to be 30, but I think it may be less now. I got mine about 5 years ago. I have transferred it to new computers as I have gotten rid of old ones and never had a problem. If you are just using it for the form filler then you should be fine. I have hundreds of passwords and user-names stored though so it was well worth the one time fee for me. Plus upgrades are free for life as well.

DaisyPug
5-13-2007, 11:26 PM
Thank you. I think for the free version the limit is 10 passwords.
So after the 30 days are up I can just keep using it?
The user agreement says:
1A. LICENSE FOR ROBOFORM FREE

RoboForm Free is defined as RoboForm for which Customer did not
pay to Siber Systems or a reseller authorized by Siber Systems.

Customer may use RoboForm Free during the Trial Period
of Thirty (30) days, starting on the date of the first
installation of RoboForm on Customer's computer.
Customer must purchase RoboForm Pro once the Trial Period ends
or uninstall RoboForm. Each Customer is allowed only one trial.

EXCEPTION FOR NON-PROFIT CUSTOMERS.
Non-Profit Customers (but not other Customers) are allowed
to use RoboForm for free after the 30-day Trial Period ends,
subject to limitations as described below.

Non-Profit Customer is defined as a customer who uses RoboForm
in non-commercial environment for non-profit activity.
All Customers who use AI RoboForm in a business, government,
military, or religious institution are not Non-Profit Customers
for the purposes of this agreement. Customers that are students
of accredited universities and high schools are classified as
Non-profit Customers even if a school or university is owned
and operated by a government.
Am I a non-profit customer? I'm not using it for a business or anything.
They make it sound like you have to buy it, but I'm sure I would have heard complaints about it not being free if that were the case.
Thanks for your help. I'll download it tomorrow and start messing with it.

MandaJo111
5-13-2007, 11:44 PM
I don't see why you could not keep using it -- the 10 password version that is. But to be honest that is the first time I have ever read the info you posted. I know they offer $10 off for lower income people or other things (I am thinking it was like student discount, and military discount or something like that) the code is "SNC" just put it in at the bottom of the page when you check out where it says: "Discount Code (optional):" If you decide to get the Pro version it will only cost you $19.95 that way. I know I went ahead and bought a second license so I can have roboform on the laptop as well -- or if you know someone else who wants to get it. The second license is only 9.95 more.

I have done mystery shopping for years so roboform is a godsend for the countless user-names and passwords since so many companies have certain ones that they either generate or require certain criteria for.

What I love is that it works like a favorites saver too. If I want to go to Gottadeal for instance, all I have to do is click on logins and then choose Gottadeal from the drop down menu. Not only does it take me here it also logs me in since I have my login info saved.

For sweeps it is great too -- except caffeine ones or any java based ones. But the majority it fills right out.

I think you don't understand, I see only that there is two pages of sweeps, on the first page I have 50 threats of active sweeps, and on second 21, the last that on the second page is GameStop / Kellogg's - Get in the Game Sweepstakes (8/15/07) 5X's .

Do you usually get a email saying you won or a phone call..

MandaJo111
6-11-2007, 1:26 PM
I know I have had wins just show up at my home...completely out of the blue. Also, if they are larger prizes that require an affidavit, I have heard some people on here have the affidavit show up at the house out of the blue. Sometimes you get emails or phone calls, it really depends on the contest. Often the info on this is in the rules of each contest -- stating how they contact the winner -- often, but not always.

When I won the Canadian Club Indy 500 sweepstakes last month I received a phone call on my answering machine from the independent company that picked my name telling me I won with a call back number and contact person to call and also they were sending an overnight UPS affidavit which I received the next day. That was a big win,but I also had the UPS drop off stuff I won but didn't know...Those are nice too.

Happy you're too funny...I need a bullhorn with some of these strange people that call here trying to get me to buy Dish Network and who knows what else....good grief, but it figures when I don't answer the caller ID says WINNERS. This sounds kind of dumb as I type it but do they ever call 2 times? LMBO.

rnm That was great that they left you a message, you would think that they would ,and not just go on to the next winner. geeesh... and yeah I have had a couple things show up on my doorstep and didn't really know where they came from , I love when the mail comes. I just got a new mailman and yesterday he brought the mail, and then made a second trip,......parked the mail truck right out in the street and knocked on the door to hand me my goodies...... So I am always looking something up. :) Another handy site is http://anywho.com/rl.html you can type in the phone number and do a reverse look up to find out who called (but only if the number is listed).

Is there a way to know if a new contest is posted? I used to just look at the ones in bold type when I logged in, but now so many people are posting no wins and thanks, that a new contest can be bumped 2 pages back sometimes.

It can be pretty disheartening when you roam around other boards and see all the people blatantly cheating to win these games. That takes prizes away from the people who play fairly, and it really gets to me.
But considering the short time I've been playing instant win games I have won quite a few prizes. And I consider myself blessed just to win anything.
When I get into a slump I just think about all of the prizes that I've won so far. My brother still plays with the Rubik's cube I gave him, and pretty soon we'll be able to play with the vollyball set I won. :)

And it's not like you're never going to win again. Just stick with it and sooner or later you'll win a prize that just makes your day!

I thought I was the only one who was frustrated by that. There are like 6 people who post "eft" or "nwt" every time they play a game, and all that does is bump it to the top. So, the post "appears" to be new when it is not. I LOVE to see posts of people winning, that just gives us hope that there is a chance of winning a particular game, but do we really need to see eft and nwt from people all the time?????:gdenough:

I've noticed that too but there's a reason for it. When you post on a thread it puts a blue dot next to the name of the thread. It's easier to scan the contests if you can immediately see which ones you've already entered from the main page.
The "thanks" button doesn't give you that blue dot. Is there any way to fix that?

There are also people who post multiple times on the same thread. I can't really think of a reason for that, unless they don't have their games bookmarked and just go down each page every day.

happysunshine28

A little clarification, every now and then I put "eft" on the post to bump foward the daily sweeps to make it easier to enter them and not have to weed thru the 1X's that have been on here for a while. I assume that others post to a thread because they want the thread bumped also and I dont see a reason not to.

I dont have the sweeps bookmarked, I use this forum to enter the sweeps.

I dont know of a way to see what is new or not except for the dot.

I always enter the sweeps at least a few times (the enter daily ones). After that if its a small prize or something I wouldn't use, then I skip it after entering for a few times. (like a tote bag or soap or something along those lines. IWG I play daily but thats about it. I don't bookmark most of the contests. I am too lazy, I'd never clean out the bookmarks when things expire. So, I tend to post regularly (not every time) an 'entered' or 'no win'.

In addition, I regularly use 3 different computers in a day... I would have to keep the bookmarks on all 3... and remember - that is the hard part - remember what I've already done that day.

This way I get to use GD as my bookmarks. I love that elena brings to my attention contests that are ending, and Happy bumps threads so I can see stuff I've missed, or forgotten.

Perhaps we can add a column "date started" so we can sort by that. Sometimes I sort based on who posted the thread originally.

MandaJo111
7-6-2007, 5:20 AM
I like the "date posted" column idea. I do also agree about the blue dot for "thanks" responses. I like to know for freebies if I have signed up for them without going into the thread itself. The dot showing up for clicking thanks would help a lot in that area as well.

I think we are on to something here with the "date posted" idea.....wonder if Brad will go for it????:crossfing

I, personally, DO bookmark my IWG's, I think it is faster to play from them, I keep 2 or 3 windows open to play even faster. The very minute I see something has ended, I IMMEDIATELY delete it from the bookmark list.

I still think some kind of a "date posted" feature would benefit us ALL.:yup:

happysunshine28

I can not say for sure it wont happen, but I dont see a date posted option being added. This site is a deals site and making a date posted option just for the contest and sweeps board wouldnt be something that would benifit the main purpose of this site.

Kara1204
7-7-2007, 7:48 PM
NO, NOT just for the sweeps threads, but I can see it benefitting the whole site. A deal for something is posted.....let's say it is a 24 hour only deal......AFTER the deal is over, someone posts "Bummer, it's too late for me" OK, that post bumps it to the top and suddenly, it looks like the "deal" is NEW because it is at the top and bold again. You would have to go to the thread, scroll to the OP just to find out that the deal was over 3 days ago. See where I am going with it???

Another example, say Brad starts a thread...."Woot off tonight!!" for Monday. Then, on the following Friday, someone digs up the old thread and posts "Dang, I always miss these!" Then, "Woot off tonight!" is again at the top and bold, appearing as if the Woot off is tonight---on whatever night the thread is seen.

Ok, I am rambling.....thinking outloud.....can you hear the gears turning? :lmao:

I see where you are going. But if the OP of a thread updated it with Dead or Over would that be a problem? Ones that are 1 day only, putting the date in the title would help that problem.

Dont get me wrong I do understand your frustrations.

Here's one -- how good are you at winning contests that require a purchase?

I bought some skittles and starburst candy to try and play the text thru time instant win game... nothing! (not even one of their 50 billion song downloads) :(

I've bought crunch bars that say "One in 20 wins". Whatever! :slaphappy

I was thinking that since these require a purchase not a lot of people would be playing at all hours of the day, and the prizes may sit for a while. That maybe I would have a chance?

I got a code for the Mountain Dew transformers contest and went to enter one of those sweepstakes. I ended up entering my point for the Hoodie because they were giving away a hundred of those that day (but there were still over 8,000 people entered for the hoodie! Even more people entered for the other prizes)

Are these pay to play contests better or worse than a regular contest? It's not really a waste because I was buying the candy anyway. I just get my hopes up and get paranoid about the best time to enter my code, and I still can't win :violin:

elena_398

Never assume you will win as common sense should tell you its a country-wide contest and thousands enter daily. This way you won't be disappointed and also surprised if the UPS truck comes down the street. LOL. Someone has to win though, so still keep it up and enter when you can. Thats what I do

I spend about 2-3 hours per day entering and I would probably surprise myself how many contests I enter! I have DSL and probably wouldnt be doing all these if I had dial up. I hated it, I do think it is worth the extra money IMO.

1) I don't spend a ton of time entering. Personally, I do it every few days for an hour or so. And when I am on IM'ing my husband I do it in between when he is busy doing school work.

2) I have no clue how many I enter. I use roboform (as I am sure most of us do) to fill the forms faster -- I HATE ones that you can't use roboform on.

3) My computer is not the newest for sure, but as far as dial up...no. I figured it up about 2 years ago. I was spending more money to pay for dial up and bell south then I would pay for Comcast high speed internet and vonage. So I made the switch and it was one of the best things I ever did. I love the combo!

1) between 5 min & 10 hours :) ok, weekends I spend longer.... but 5 min- 1 hr a day is realistic on weekdays

2)I enter the local radio station ones everyday. everything else depends on my mood.

3) we have a cable modem. I don't think I have the patience for screens to load on dial-up. We had dial-up here until about 2 years ago... the phone line did not allow a fast enough signal to match the modem speed... man, it stank.

Hi. Question about entering your date of birth on contests (and offers) Do you? Give the correct one? Make one up? Switch numbers so if you win a contest it just looks like an honest error? I am REAL HESITANT to give out DOB. Most times I just leave the site.
Once I saw one offer and all you had to do was check the box that you were born before X date. I thought that was cool, because it would weed out the kids.
Thanks.

I was thinking of creating an excell database, then emailing it back and forth inbetween work and home, but I think I will forget to do that... then I will be sad...

I just need something to remind myself which sites I need to visit everyday to enter. Any sugestions?

Thanks for the input

I use this site to keep track of them. I just click the links and enter. If the thread title doesnt have a 1X icon or Weekly or Monthly, I know that they are (most the time) a sweeps that is entered daily. I have a day once a week I enter all the weekly ones, and the monthly one I enter at the beginning of the month.

If I have to stop entering before I finish for the day I write the page number and last one i entered down and continue on that page later.

What is the normal protocal for winning something?
A. an email
B. a phone call
C. a letter in the mail
Also, how do you weed out the emails? How do you know they are o.k. to open. Alot of them look like they are from a contest or company, it's hard to tell. Thank you. sunpop

D. All of the above. Depends on who is running the contest (fulfilment center) and what you've won.

Letter's in the mail often include affidavit's to be filled out and returned - usually that means big prize (not always, tho)

Emails... I'm sure I've missed some. Usually the spam titles keep re-occuring, and the real winners are a 1 time thing... I try to recognize the email address before I open ... but...

Is there any advice anyone can give on how to win the "bigger" prizes on sweepstakes and IWG? Has anyone noticed time patterns or anything? I"m just curious as most of the time I feel very unlucky and I agree with people on the don't expect to get half of what it says you won. But I see a lot of people winning $100 GC's and Xbox's etc...while I win stuff like "underwear" haha...any advice or comments? I have a 3yr old so its hard to sit on the PC for long and I am currently in my 9th month of pregnancy so I'm limited to the time i have on my PC to enter. Does that make a difference too?

Honestly, the winning has slowed down. I have a theory, more people entering so wins are spread out more and it makes it look like not as many wins.

I dont think that there is a pattern to winning times, it all about luck whether a IWG or sweepstakes, you just have to enter at the right time. If I knew a pattern I think I would have to keep it to myself so I could win all the time, lol, but I aint winning so I dont know of a pattern, sorry.

Those small wins add up. I saved all my gift cards last year and used them for christmas. They helped more than I would have imagined. I also save most of my wins for christmas, even if its a tube of lip gloss, my dd got alot of make-up and perfume that I had won she loved the perfume I won (it stunk to me). Stuff like candy bar coupons and food coupons I dont save of course. But you will be suprised how quick those small wins can amount to alot if you save, the restaurant GC I saved for vacation, most were $10 but instead of spending say $20 for a meal for our family at arby's we only spent $10 out of pocket, even the $5 ones helped in controlling our food cost.

When I dont have time to enter all at one time I will write down what page I was on and the last one I entered and start from there when I can enter again, I do all the IWG first before entering any sweepstakes (search "IWG" and they will all come up) That way if something happens and I dont have time I atleast know I didnt miss out on instant gratification, lol.

If you win something save the email, if you dont get it within the time frame (usually 6-8 weeks after end of contest) reply to the email letting them know you havent recieved it. I have had to do that a few times and I got a reply and my item. There isnt many prizes I havent got, expect to get everything you win it just might take a while.

Thank you so much! I appreciate the response it gives me hope. haha! I understand what your saying about the little things adding up to a lot. I save all my emails even the ones that say "thanks for entering" or "Sweepstakes confirmations" etc. I have won stuff, but I keep forgetting to check to see when I should be here like the Shrek Lunch box, spoon and shirt thing. My husband won a shaw rug for his mother i was so jealous that he has better luck but happy we got it either way. It was sent and we got it before christmas! But I still am waiting on my winnings, actually almost all of them LOL...As I said they are small but they are still something.

I do play all the IWG's first, or try to at least, but it seems like everytime I go back to do the sweepstakes they move a lot from peoples responses. it gets confusing. I'm also only trying to enter the ones I know I would really use. Like trips I dont bother if flying is involved because I have never flown and wont get on a plane, so unless I can drive its out of the question. But I do try for cash prizes or GC's etc.

Do you find yourself winning more sweepstakes than IWG or the opposite? I'm just curious because I've won more IWG than sweepstakes. I also see people winning laptops/cars/etc and I wonder how they do that! Also all this stuff about affidavits' and notary's etc. I sit here and imagine what I would do if I won haha! I know its silly but it keeps some excitment going in my life (Other than the family and new baby comming).

Again thank you so much for the response it has helped me to look at this positively and not think I am totally cursed with bad luck! Good luck in your future winnings and I hope 2008 can bring us ALL some REALLY good winnings!

At different times I win IWG more than sweepstakes. It seems like the sweepstakes wins come in spurts for me, plus they are usually suprises that just show up and usually months after the sweepstakes has ended.

If you get an avidavit all you do is take it to a notary (if required) and sign it in front of them and they will sign it and stamp it after checking your id. I keep a folder with wins in it that I have recieved for the year for tax purposes. Usually they send a congratulations letter (with value of win) with the affy and I will keep the letter.

I imagine winning also, I think thats what keeps me motivated during the no winning times. Glad to hear Im not the only one.

How long should you wait after not receiving something you won before trying to contact them? A week? 2 weeks? A month?

What does the rules say about prize delivery? it is normal to have to wait weeks after a contest is over.

If you do contact them - document who you talked to and what they say. EPrize burned me for $100 and some small stuff. *(^%$%$#()

The rules say 4-6 weeks. Saturday will be 7. How much longer should I wait before I call?

ETA: It says 4-6 weeks. Not 4-6 after contest ends. Already checked to see if that was the reason.

I dont see no harm contacting them now but I usually wait till after contest is over, if you kept the winning notification email reply to that, as long as it isnt a do not reply email. If you werent notified by email and it was an instant win did you take a screen shot for verification? If so attach that to an email. I have never called about a prize but I have emailed a few times and gotten results pretty quickly. Once I emailed Eprize and got the item the next day, it was already in the mail, lol.

Sometimes when someone has won from the same one, you can ask them if the have recieved theirs yet. Sometimes the companies ship them out together.

THere wasn't an email...but I did do a screenshot(which is how I figured out it hadn't arrived-was deleting old things off the computer and saw it). THe contest ends next week(I think) so I am gonna wait til then and then email.

I am trying to bookmark the ones that I would like to try and win so I go back to them everyday.

I started doing these sweepstakes since I ran into this website looking for Black Thursday deals last November. Now I am hooked. I have a question about street address. I have a PO Box at a US Post Office that I use for all my regular mail since I travel so much. I have been using this PO Box address for most sweepstakes, even when it says street address iso just address. For the ones that explicitely state no PO Boxes, I use my vacation home address. Problem with that is that if I would win, I only go to that house occasionally, say every other month and I dont have a physical US post office mailbox at that house and don't get any mail there. Should I start using the vacation home address more often when it says street address? and risk not getting mail saying I have won? Or will using the PO Box disqualify me? I have only won one thing since I started, a T-shirt and I got a letter sent to my PO Box. Thanks for any input from all you experts, and good luck xxxxx

I have only recieved one phone call directly linked to a sweeps I entered so avoid that company, I forget the company name but they sell those backup networks. They didnt try to sell me anything specific, and I told them I only visited the site to enter the sweepstake.

I have recieved other calls (very few) but I cant directly link them to specific sweepstakes or freebie, but they got my info from one of them, they knew my name and my cell I use to enter sweeps is in my BF name and they had my info not his. Few meaning 4 in about a year in a half.

I play them all everyday. If I win one and it says one prize per person I dont do that one anymore but if it doesnt say 1 prize per person I will continue to play it. I have by accident continued to play them after I won a prize and I recieved a letter telling me I wouldnt recieve the prize, but I got the first one prize. I felt really bad because someone else could have won that.

If you only want to do IWG you can do a search for "IWG" and they will all show up without the other sweeps.

I try to enter all the contests every day. Usually if I am short on time I will only enter the IWG and the sweeps I really want to win. For instance, its highly unlikely I will win the contests where there is only one prize of say $250,000 (example) so I'll enter the ones that give away 100 prizes, etc. You might want to look at the number of prizes given out when deciding whether or not to play it. Hope that helps in you deciding which ones to enter

I was thinking about the contest forums and how it could be improved. I enjoy playing the IWG's at times and other times I like speed contesting where I enter every single contest listed without even reading the prizes! (Speed does not read--hehe)

I thought, if we added a few sub-forums it would be easier for people to find their type of contest. If someone plays all IWG's, all of them are listed in it's own place. (Not to mention, it would save a lot of bandwidth by negating the need for the search feature)

If the contest is a regular sweepstakes than it stays in the usual forum. Lastly, I thought it would be a really good idea, if we took all the contests with prizes ARV: $100 or under and organized them in a new forum; it would help people who want small prizes, where they have a greater chance of winning. Plus, it would help organize out the small prizes some people may not want to spend time on. win! win!

Thoughts?

The display options at the bottom of the page gives a way to filter daily, weekly, 1X, and monthly entry sweeps. If a person wants to see IWG choose the "no prefix" option.

Because I enter the sweeps listed everyday I know from memory by looking at the title if I want to enter it so I dont click on the ones I have no interest in, by entering on a regular basis most people will be able to filter by looking at the title.

Having sub-forums based on prizes would make it hard on people who want to win anything, having to go to each sub-forum would take more time to enter the sweeps. Plus on a moderators standpoint, keeping up with moving post to desired sub-forums would take up most my time and ultimately my goal is to enter sweeps so I can win. I do try to help with adding special entry requirements to titles such as kids ages, and lately there is a dog owners only sweeps which I added to the title.

How do you sort all the IWG's? I usually do it by searching for 'IWG'

How about a marker, to show it's a low-value prize. I remember a contest for some seasoning prize worth 6.95...I don't know why people bother posting such a contest. Trying to win a grand prize of seasoning is a waste of time.

I put in bold on my last post how to get the IWG's to show up.

We dont discriminate high value prizes from low value prizes, a win is a win reguardless what the prizes valus is. If someone doesnt want to enter a IWG because the prize value is less, then that is good for the rest of us who want to win anything. If you choose to add that to a title of the sweeps you post then feel free to, I will leave it as long as there is room for the ending date.

The 'Dare to Dream' contests for all those magazines (that are all owned by the same company I believe) had ending dates in 2008, then switched to 2009. Does anyone know if anyone has actually won or do they just keep extending the end date? I was just wondering. Seems like a waste if no one is ever going to get any prize.

The ones that ended in 2008 are different than the ones ending in 2009. Example: Redbook sweeps that ended 1/31/08 was Dream of a Lifetime Sweepstakes with 1 Grand Prize: Winner's choice of a MINI Cooper or $25,000 Cash, 1 First Prize: Weekend Cruise for 2 (Max. Retail Value $2,000), 1 Second Prize: Diamond Bracelet (Max. Retail Value $1,000), 50 Third Prizes: Hands-free Cell Phone Speaker & Microphone for Car (Max. Retail Value $100), and 1,000 Fourth Prizes: Helbros® Dress Watch (Retail Value $64) but the one ending 1/15/09 is named THE DARE TO DREAM SWEEPSTAKES with (1) Grand Prize Winner that will win $250,000 which can be used to renovate the winner’s home.

If you search the other magazines you will find the difference in each from 2008 to 2009.

I will click on a sweeps in the forum click on the link and then hit the back buttom. While gottadeal is loading back up I go to a sweep that I have open that should be loaded up and fill the form out and submit it, then I click back on gottadeal click on another sweeps and while the page is loading I go to a sweep already open and either X it off because I have entered it or I fill out a form. I just keep repeating this til I am done.

I hope this doesnt confuse you, with time you will get faster at entering them. Goodluck and welcome to gottadeal.

On average around 300. There is a poll which is very old, I enter alot more now then I did when I did that poll.

Here is the old poll http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=45881

This isn't a question but I didn't know where to post. I watched a great show the other day called "Prize Winner". It is about a woman in the 50's (true story) that got her family by on entering contests and things. I loved it. She ended up traveling 100 miles to go to a meeting of other women who did the same thing as her and it reminded me of this forum. Had a great ending too. Julianne Moore was the star of the movie and Woody Harrelson was her husband. I had never even heard of the movie before. I was watching it on one of the Starz channels. Here is description of it...

Kelly and Evelyn Ryan live in Defiance, Ohio with their 10 children. At first glance their life seems idyllic; they call each other "Mother" and "Father" and seem to dote on the kids. But Kelly was a garage-band crooner whose voice was ruined in an auto accident. He's resigned to a dead-end factory job that barely pays the bills, and is given to fits of alcohol-induced rage. Evelyn, a stay-at-home wife and mother, deals with this abuse by appealing to her priest, who is no help at all. She deals with their poverty by entering the jingle contests that were the rage in the 50's and early 60's, even sending in multiple entries in the names of the children. She is very clever at it, winning more than her share of prizes, but her successes aren't enough to keep the wolf from the door. Further, they trigger Kelly's insecurities and he retreats deeper into the bottle, using food and mortgage money to support the habit. Can the loving, optimistic Evelyn hold the family together? Is she justified in placing her faith in the deeply-flawed Kelly? How will the children turn out? This underrated film provides an inspirational answer to these questions.

OK I found another IWG and don't know how to use the spoiler there is a lot of information if someone could help me or if you want to do it. The contest is through www.pampers.com and it is called Bright morning start with a spin you have to have an account but there is an alternate entry option so you don't have to use pampers points. You can win multple times.

Those dryspells hit hard. If it wasnt for other sweeps besides iwg's I would be in one also. I just keep entering and telling myself one day I will win.

The shrek iwg was an eprize sweeps so forward the winning email to questions@<hidden> or possibly reply to the winning email. It may take a while but most the time they will get back to you. Hope that helps

Hellloooo...I'm a newb;). I posted in the winners thread but I thought I'd say HI in here too.

I have a question - (prolly an old one) does anyone here use Fast Sweeper & is a waste of time?
I'm sceptical by nature & was tempted but it seemed silly to pay someone to do something I can do with the help of roboform of course;) )

Oh & also...have any of you signed up at Jackpot Rewards. com...if you haven't I recommend you do (if you do much shopping online anyway). It does cost $3 a week but there's a weekly lottery & great cashback rewards if you shop online through the site. Just a friendly tip.

Ok..well I'm done for now :) Thanks for all the wonderful links.

If Fast Sweeper is a automated entry service then I dont recommend anyone using it, most rules state no automatic entries.

Same here. It takes me about 4 hours just to enter 300+ sweepstakes every day, not counting posting and searching for new sweeps. Time to enter sweepstakes I take from my sleep, I wake up early in the morning (4-5am), and everything else here I do during a day while taking a break from tasks around my home.

Ok here is an off-the-wall question...well I have 2 of them LOL...
Is anyone using more than 1 email address to enter these? I haven't but I was wondering if I should start. Even if it says 1 winner per household as long as i won it I wouldn't care which email won it! haha...Just wondering!

The other question I have is I entered my daughter into Chicagolands Most huggable baby title contest on a radio station. Is it appropriate or can I post the link up somewhere to try and get more votes? I could really use the votes and i'm sure its a popularity contest. So if Gottadeal sweepstakes players could help me out it would be greatly appreciated I would love for my daughter to win that title!

I will try to explain the entering contest under a different email question the best I can, If you enter yourself under a specific email and then enter yourself under another email that would violate just about every sweeps rules out there, but if you enter yourself with your email and a spouse (etc) enters under a different email as long as the rules dont say one entry per household, I dont see how that would violate any rules. I hope that helps, I dont want to get anyone disqualified so make sure you read the rules real good, promotion companies can see your isp address, so be very careful.

I have seen request for votes on the Requests, Trading & Stuff to Give Away forum.

Also, how do you keep track of the Sweeps you enter and want to remember and that are daily or monthly when the forum keeps bobbling around everytime a post hits it? Do you bookmark it? or put it in your favorites? I'm just wondering...I am limited on time during the day with 2 younge ones and work. I got ya, it is very rarely that my BF enters a IWG (only if he really wants to win a specific prize) he doesnt enter regular sweeps at all, to time consuming. Hope that helps.

I use the forum to enter by, I dont want to keep up with sweeps that expired and having to delete them (some will let you keep entering even if they have ended) from a favorites folder. Plus I couldnt even imagine how big that folder would be, I enter just about all the sweeps on here. I dont have small kids to watch so I am not the best person to find out from.

On occasion I enter for other people... with their permission - and they get to keep the goods (although, I did get the Nintendo DS that I won on behalf of my kids grandmother....) Like Happy says, it is very time consuming. I don't have time to keep up with entries for me, forget about everyone else! DH enters MLB contests... and on occasion video game contests.

I use the forum to enter - Happy does a great job moving the expired ones away... some days I do just IWG. Other days I enter them a page or 2 at a time. I leave GD up in a tab, and open all the threads in separate tabs so it does not bobble on me :) Hope this helps.

I would also like to add something - there is no secret to winning a big prize (at least not that I know of), there is just a good luck. You can enter only once and win big or you can enter every day and not win, again just luck.
I do enter almost all sweeps here every day increasing my chances to win something and I enter with 1 email address (sometimes mine, sometimes my DH's, depending on sweepstakes' prizes). If I had time, I would enter us both for IWG.

i enter the DIY sweat Equity daily entry. With my FireFox browser it has outFill well i got to
name and type the first letter then it gives the complete word...so that works great.
But on this particular form, after hitting Enter, it has a error message " make sure on numeral are entered for the telephone number"....ok so i look and there are no extra characters So i put the cursor at the end of the numbers and hit the 'delete' button and 'shift' to the next question. That works for me and Enter accepts my entry.......FYI....
PS on Firefox autofill , and Google search page..it will fill any blank space on any web page you
type a letter or character, i found out if a list of words come up that all begin with that character, I can 'delete' the list to get rid of the old entries.....hope this is understandable..

I know nothing about firefox, I have never used the browser. See if this will help. On IE in internet options there is a way to clear auto complete info. I also use clean cache 3.0 to clean my out sometimes also, well before I learned that you can do it through internet options. If you dont get an answer here, try asking how do you clear out auto complete on firefox browser in the tech board (http://forums.gottadeal.com/forumdisplay.php?f=16).

I didnt recieve one, I'll take a guess and say not signing it and sending it back would probably void any win.

From rules of current sweeps - rules gone for Vaseline Cocoa Butter Share Your Story Sweepstakes
Potential Grand Prize Winner will then be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, liability/publicity release (except where prohibited by law) within three (3) days of notification attempt or the Grand Prize will be forfeited and alternate winner may be selected, time permitting, at Sponsor’s sole discretion.

Legally you are suppose to claim all income, winnings are considered misc income. Any win that has a value of $600 or over must be claimed, you will (I did) recieve a 1099 misc to claim it. I am not sure if all companies send out a 1099 I know I recieved one for the 2 wins I had last year with over a $600 value, I didnt recieve a 1099 for anything that didnt have that value even though I did some affys.

Do you really want to claim a $0.79 candy bar? If they want me to claim a candy bar they better send me a 1099.

ok, there is a closed thread about bumping in the contest section... I am trying to abide, but am getting frustrated. I do not have one chunk of time I can contest in a day. It is often spread out in 30 min increments somewhere between 4am and midnight. I can't remember what I've entered that day... so sometimes I have to check. If I do not post a NW or a EFT I end up getting the dreaded "you've already played today" message... which wastes my time & chance to enter something else in that time.... How can I resolve that and respect the GD rules? Instead I've not entered much of anything since the thread appeared... and it is closed, so I can't ask this there...

I made a new bookmark/favorites file and labeled it contests.
After I go to the contest page I click "add bookmark" under the contest folder.
Then I just have to click on the bookmark/ contest folder daily and just go down my saved contest list.
I add the date the contest is over and just delete them as they expire off my bookmarked file.

I tried that but found the following flaws (for me):
* I don't remember where I left off... one day seems much like the next.
* I enter from, on average, 3 computers a day
* I am lousy at deleting the bookmarks
* I can not keep track, via a bookmark, if I am entering for someone else (DD, DS, DH, My sister, whoever)

My only complaint is the bumping of threads that don't end till next year or end of the year (all the magazine ones that don't end until next January). Its not an IWG so really why bump? Now I stopped on page 4 and will be back later... hopefully I can finish up. haha

The problem with putting eft and nw on each of the threads and bumping them is if I am on page 3 of entering contests, someone is on page 5 of entered and typing eft and someone else is on page two putting eft then by the time I get through entering contests there are 3 pages of mixed contests that have been bumped to the front that I have to try and go through and not know which ones I've already entered. If no one bumps the thread unless its by putting anything then you just go to the page where you left off. And some of the ppl that are putting eft are skipping around so that causes even more issues. The mods are trying to prevent that for the majority.

I usually type entered for 1X Contests and then once for each contest posted so I know I have registered and are eligible to play that one. After that I leave the thread alone and just enter it unless I win something.
