Grand Canyon

I don't know if this is the right place for this post but anyway. I'm looking for any suggestions or deals on staying near the Grand Canyon this summer, looking to go around July 4th.

Check hotels/motels in the Williams, AZ area or even Flagstaff. I think Flag is about an hour and a half away from the South Rim but you may get a better deal. If you have time, travel to the North Rim. It's awesome.

I just got my entertainment book in, I'll look to see if there are coupons for anything up in that area.

Also a lot of the local papers will normally have coupons for some of the smaller things up that way. If they do I'll pm you and mail them out.

Gee... I live in AZ and I've only been to the Grand Canyon 2x - both times just passing through to Las Vegas ;)

Check out Restaurant.com for restaurants in that area and you may save a bundle on food.

There is an awesome lodge at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon...I actually think it's called the Lodge at the North Rim. Keep in mind the North Rim area closes in the winter, so it's a lot less commercial than the South Rim, and there are fewer restaurants, etc.

We will be traveling from Virginia, so if anyone knows of interesting places for a 12yr son along the way let me know. We have 3 weeks to travel. Can't wait.
