The Free Smoke Detector Program provides free smoke detector(s) for City of Charlottesville VA residents ONLY. This includes the smoke detector and the installation all free of charge. This is part of the Departments Mission to "Prevent Harm" and meet the City's goal of Healthier and Safer Neighborhoods. Once requested you will be contacted by telephone to schedule an install.
