Crap. Im not sure now where Im going first as there is no reason to go to Walmart. Found out they carry a different camcorder than the one I was going to price match. Guess Im in line at Circuit city. First time in over 6 years I don't need to go to walmart

That's it? You lead with a Polaroid brand TV? I mean, not bad but...yawn.
I simply cannot believe I'm getting better deals on TVs before Tgiving and I'm going to Pep Boys first. What a world we live in! ;)

This ad really is disappointing - what in the heck are they trying to hide?? What great deals are in here? Geez many of the items are their regular prices as of today. Sad.

Yeah probably. I price matched a ton of stuff from other stores last year and only got a few of the Wal-Mart doorbusters. Didn't pay attention to the rest of the ad, LOL.

Wow. Not hitting Wal-Mart this year.
Geez many of the items are their regular prices as of today. Sad.
Wal-Mart very rarely has "sales" to begin with. Even during the year, their weekly circulars mostly have "everyday low price" type items and occasional "special buys".
The early bird items in the BF ad are the true "sale" items and are mostly below regular prices. The non-early birds are in many cases just regular prices like WM's normal ads. Same thing happened at least the last 2 years.

I am so let down. There is no need for me to go to walmart. There is nothing I want. I am looking at toys and a new desktop, I really didn't want to wait at BB but I might have to if I want a desktop.

Guess I am crazy but I see a few things on my list that are on sale. PS2 Madden 08 and NBA Live 08. I am not a Walmart fan by any means, but I don't think I can PM these anywhere else. TRU and Target do not PM. I hate giving Walfart my money but it is a pretty big savings. Hmmmmm Not unless Sears would PM.........

Instead of going to WM at 5am, I'll be at TRU instead :D I only saw a couple of things that I would even consider going to WM for but when I look at my TRU list of things to get, it out weighs the 'couple' of things I want at WM, LOL. 1st stop: TRU 2nd stop: Target

I really like what they are having at WM! It's not great, but they have the things I was going for at the other stores and beat them by at least a dollar! Last year I didn't go to WM at all but this year I'm headed there first! Don't forget that WM usually has the better deals...they are still holding out the secret items!!! I think WM waited so long because they wanted to have the chance to beat everyone else. Stores usually wait till their ad is leaked and then they copycat them well this year WM took matters into their own hands!!! Way to go WM!!!!

Well, this ad made my decision- No Walmart necessary. I actually think I am going to hit some of the smaller stores and online. I guess I get to sleep to at least 4 a.m. this year. Cool!
Thanks Brad
I think next week the are going to suprise us with the REAL AD (I hope) AD stinks:(

Thanks Brad. Nothing on the ad that I said WOW!!! I'm heading first to Target. Unless!, that Walmart have something really good on the secret specials that they will reveal on Thanksgiving Day. Last year they had the unadvertised/secret special of the RCA 47" for $448.00 (or something like that). In my store they had only 5 and I got one.

You never know what Wal-Mart is going to do, if you remember, last year they went thru other ads that morning and released a small piece of paper with some in-store specials, so just keep your eyes open for anything.
They're Wal-Mart, and they'll do just about anything to get your business.

Far as anything in the ad, I might show up after they open and take a nose dive into what's left of their <$5 DVD bins. That's always fun. :D

My niece (6) got one a few weeks ago, and she and her brother (3) and sister (4) loved it. Not sure if the fun has worn off yet though. It will record things you say, then you have a little remote that you program the buttons, and then you can choose what you want it to say. Maybe it does more too, I haven't really played with it. Pretty cute I guess though, especially for the little ones.

I thought it said funeral at first. lol. I read it again though. I know what the furreal friends are. I don't get what the big deal is. I had an electronic talking parrot when I was younger. I doubt it cost that much. Maybe $20. And it would repeat would you said. Is this not the same thing. I see those dang parrots all over walmart!!! I walked by one 2 nights ago and it said Hello! Scared the crap out of me. I turned around and realized it was the furreal friends parrot. :flame: <----this is what I wanna do to those parrots.

The furreal friend parrot is normally $59.99 ... It's an animatronic pet.. Meaning it's pretty much like a real parrot, without having to worry about it flying away or pooping on stuff. Or feeding it. $44 for it is a decent price drop.
My 4 year old wants it, but I veto animtronic pets..we got enough real pets to deal with here.

My theory on why WM held out on this junk ad:
WM is counting on people coming to WM on BF thinking they are going to get a deal, because that is what BF is supposed to be all about, right? :yup:
They count on the people who just buy the stuff because its BF and dont really realize that is not really a "deal".
Those of us who visit these deal sites on a regular basis KNOW this ad is junk and there are no "real deals" on it.
WM did not want us to see the ad early because of word of mouth being such a wonderful thing they knew we would know its junk and tell people.:secret:

Wow, and to think I was agonizing over this being the ad I most needed to see. Ugh ugh ugh. If I were a wally marketing exec, I'd be in fear of my job for this being the most lame ad ever. 2 things out of the whole ad - the DS pack and gee, I forget the other. Both of which I can find more than 3 other places for similar prices. And as far as the 'secret specials', I won't have a computer with me and I sure as heck won't be checking back in. The WM I was at last year didn't even have the extra flyer to hand out - let alone have the items on it.
Daughter will be happy - will be more time to get to the mall / Target early! Hubby might be happy - I'll just send him to Staples for the laptop (because BB is way too far away, even though the Sony is the one I really really want). And I'll be buying the GPS from KMart on Thanksgiving morning!
Brad -- sorry they gave you such a hard time over such crap!

My sentiments exactly! When I first saw this ad two days ago I was so underwhelmed I felt like calling Walmart and telling them they should be be PAYING deal sites to post this lame ad instead of threatening legal action to keep it hidden. Maybe the reason they wanted to hide it is because they knew the ad $$ucked!

There is no Circuit City or Office Depot where I live either. We use to have a Toys R Us but that closed cause there prices was just too high & they was not making any money. Our Best Buy went into that building. Altho I never go to Best Buy on black friday. Too crazy for me.
I am waiting on the Menards & Shopko ad too. Usually those 2 are out only days before black friday.

I had one in my exercise room. The best thing about it was the 3 year replacement warranty from Ciruit City that I used in a year.
I had that Dell laptop and it didn't do too good either. I don't how they can run Vista on it.

Maybe they are wanting to see everyones reaction to their sales and then they will give off better "secret sales" to try and get our business. Something just does not add up with this add and why they are having all of these secret sales. I'm sure they are monitering all of the BF sites and when they see that they are not at the top of everyones list, then BAM, a bigger sale, or maybe not.

We have one and we love it. We have had it for a little over a year and it is still working perfectly and looks just as great as when we got it. I know it's not as fancy as the brands everyone is going crazy about, but for us it really is great. If you just want a nice t.v. that looks good and doesn't cost an arm and a leg, there's nothing wrong with the Polaroid.

Just a heads up - I went in our local store today (TN) and they already had 2 rack of the ladies $10 coats (no mens that I could find) out. We buy for families for Christmas so this helps a lot. Not bad for $10 and they had cute colors the teenagers will love.

I dunno. I can't believe it was on rollback for $33. I already bought one but had been looking for a deal on one for a while. I got mine for $33 at Kmart. It was $38 and I had a $5 off fisher price purchase so I went ahead and got it. In the ad it says $39.xx so I think you better buy it. That is the lowest price I've seen anywhere anyways.

It is not available to buy now. It is not current merchandise. But yes it is a decent camera for that price.

I think everyone on this message board wants a brand name TV, or a laptop at an insanely cheap price, which is why they are disappointed. A few of the deals in the ad were actually pretty good.

I don't want a tv or a laptop. Or anything else electronic, for that matter.
I was actually hoping for a larger toy section to the ad. Particularly toys that aren't from Fisher Price and doomed to be recalled for lead paint. ;)

I can't get to the ads. It keeps telling me the bandwidth limit has been exceeded. Does that mean that too many people are looking at the ad at the same time and I have to wait until some people stop looking at the ad?

OK I can not tell from the ad but maybe one of you knows is the DVD camcorder mini DVDs or full size DVDs. A friend is looking for one to record the birth of her baby and send the disc to her husband in Iraq but she wants the full sized discs and not the minis. We went to two different WM trying to see if it was in the store already but no such luck. Just wondering if it was going to be worth it for an extremely pregnant woman to stand in line for. Thanks for the help.

I can pretty much guarantee you that it's the mini DVDs. I don't think they make too many models with the full-size discs anymore. And judging by the size of the camcorder compared to the disc part, that would be an absolutely huge camcorder if it was full size.

Bandwidth issue should be fixed now as I increased the limit for that account. Should be enough to last until Sunday night :)

There was a huge TV last year for $500.

Thanks Brad!! I will definitely let her know. I guess I need to do some more research on the DVD camcorders now to find one that will work.

I got that TV is was a 720p 52" RCA.
It is really nice for the price. We love it. I would rather have the 48" LCD but for the money it is sweet.
I am expecting a Great deal on something and three or four other crappy items. :)
I don't get this ***we can't talk about the ad except here***
Sure I understand the whole legal issue of posting the ad...but from what I can tell you can ONLY view the forums if you are registered, so if you are registered you can see this forum.
Therefore, if you have an account on this site you can see all posts no matter what and can see this forum anyways. Now those who don't have an account casually browsing will not see it so I guess that is why?

What a disappointing ad...I am keeping my fingers crossed, I have to work until 12am Black Friday morning, do I go and stand in line for the GPS? Need to do some more research, I wonder if the Kmart GPS is better than this, I could always go to Kmart Thursday morning before I start the turkey...lol!

I thought there were some okay toy deals. I am pretty excited about the leap pad read and write system and the $5 match box cars. If I go, I will probably pick up a few of the character sleep sets for $5. They don't have a great door buster that is going to bring the crowd in!
love a deal

Not too disapointed. I'm hopeing to price match a few things at WM and save me from running all over town all morning.

That's it? You lead with a Polaroid brand TV? I mean, not bad but...yawn.
I simply cannot believe I'm getting better deals on TVs before Tgiving and I'm going to Pep Boys first. What a world we live in! ;)
My Polaroid brand tv that I bought from Walmart was the second worst purchase I've ever made.

Out of curiosity ... does anyone know if Walmart will be price-matching this year? And how are we able to find out if other stores are as well? It seems employees have multiple answers to this question ..... :(
Thank you for posting the scans ... atleast now I know there's nothing to get excited about. :-p

The best way to know for sure if you can price match, is to call your local store and talk to the manager (take their name). Not too many stores take a corporate stance on this.
Well last year the ad came out, and last year it went around "oh gosh it is the fake ad we can't wait to see the real one" and guess what...it was th real one. Don't get your hopes up this is fake.

Don't worry they're used to it. This kind of question is easier than most of the crap they get to deal with.
