Last night we pork loin, garlic bread, cous-cous, and peas w/ onions for dinner. The kids had milk with their meal.

I bought the pork on sale ($6), we had 2 packages of cous-cous ($2), I used 1/2 a package of frozen peas w/ onions (.50), made the garlic bread on half a loaf of italian bread (.50) with garlic butter spread that was leftover from a meal kit, DH and I drank soda (.50) and the kids had milk.... (3.50/gallon they drank maybe an eight of that)... (.45)

total $9.95 for 4 people. =$2.49 a person, plus there was leftovers.

It's so funny you should ask that, I was just figuring it out for myself last night! On Saturday we had:

BBQ chicken (1/2 of a bottle of sauce I got for $1 w/ coupon so .50 & $2.28 for trimmed and ready chicken breasts also with coupon), a box of Betty Crocker au gratin potatoes .38 w/coupon, one can of green beans .52, milk for the boys (1/8 of $2.99 gal milk so .38) and I had water. Total of $4.06, making it $1.36 for each of the three of us! And we had leftovers on Sunday, making it approximately .68 per meal !!

I was quite impressed with myself..lol because not every meal is that economical!

last night we had chicken breasts w/ the rest of the peas and onions and white rice.

3.27 for the chicken breasts, .50 for the veggies and about 15 cents for the rice. with drinks (milk and water) less than 5$/person. and I had enough for lunch today.

A typical meal for me would be my homemade chicken pot pie.

Just over a pound of chicken breasts - about $3.00.
Half bag of mixed veggies - .50
A few potatoes - less than .50
2 chicken bouillon cubes - .10
Water
1/2 cup milk - .13
5 tbsps. of real butter - .30
Premade crust: $1.00

About $5.50 total, serves 6-8.
