My son wants a laptop for Christmas, and it looks like it will be an Apple. Please no debates about PCs vs Macs--I recently got an Apple myself and have been thrilled. Since he is a college student he can get the educational discount, but I wondered when i should order it--will there be any deals between now and the holidays? For instance, mine came with a free iPod and printer, a promotion I know they had last summer as well. Does anyone recall if there were any deals last holiday season? Thanks. (And yes, I am very much aware that I can get a great PC for a lot less money.)

I'm not sure if they have any christmas deals, they always have a back to school deal, like the free ipod, I got a better deal on mine because I got a powerbookG4 when they were updating for the powerbook. There are two or three refurbs on their site right now. My brother has had good luck with his refurbs, he ended up getting new ones because the refurbs were no good! Also if you are near any of the stores they sometimes have deals there, and refurbs there too but you have to ask. Also sometimes the staff is updating theirs so they sell their old ones.
