I am looking for a deal and info in laminate floors. I want good ones not just the random lowes/homedepot. unless people think those are the best. It is definately for a high traffic house.

Thank you
Sara

We bought ours from Sam's Club -- 25 year warranty -- easy to install -- trim pieces are available in the store. They had the best price for anything with over 20 year warranty.

We bought Pacifica Maple:

The maple looks the most "real" since the knots in the pine and oak & cherry woodgrain give them away. Real maple doesn't have knots and the grain of the stuff we bought is very "believable".

lumber liquidators gets my vote. very good prices but pay attention to thickness as a measure of durability along with the warranty. i agree with marcster about the maple looking the most "real" but have also seen some good choices with the very dark shades as well. medium tones tend to look like cheap cabinets to me unless you go top of the line. also, one good test of durability is to take your car key and try to scratch the surface with it; if the flooring is good quality it wont even leave a mark. i have three kids, two cats, and one
200lb st. bernard that chase each other all through the house and have never seen a mark on those floors. i can even drag the furniture around and still nothing.
