Today I got the Etoys catalog in the mail, while looking through it I came across the Thomas Wheels 'N Whistles Chair which I know my son will absolutely love, but the price is $69.99 on Etoys and K-B toys, so I did a quick search and found it on Sears for $7.99!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes, I placed the order with shipping my total was $15.02!!! Shipping alone was going to cost me $15.81 from K-B toys!! I am so excited about this!!! I keep telling myself I must have read it wrong, but I just got my order confirmation at is says Thomas Wheels 'N Whistles Chair $7.99 so if any of you have a Thomas fan that would love this for Christmas jump on this deal now!!!!!:cheesy:

I called customer service to try to do the same thing and get my email address to them so they can let me know when it is available again, and my CS rep told me to check back everyday because they are always updating their stock, and it should be back in stock in the next couple of days....
We shall see!!!!!

They do this all the time!!!!!!!! Last year they had the ps2 on their site at a sale price for like a week it said it was in stock but it wasn't, this year they had the wii listed as in stock, guess what? It wasn't big suprise there! Now this thing says its in stock and it's not!!!!! That ticks me off!

I didn't ask for a rain check. I just told her the problem I was having and asked if there was a way I could be notified when it was in stock again. She said that when they come back they will still be for 7.99. I hope she is right. Like I said I printed everything out and notated all of her information to reference if I have any problems later.;)

I also told her how this happens with lots of their merchandise and I'm sick of it. It shouldn't say its in stock if its not! I haven't had that trouble with any other website! If its out of stock it says it out! Shesh!

Went to WalMart and Meijer will not price match online price.
Walmart was going to until they saw what it was, and all of a sudden they don't price match websites. grr..
Meijer was being really iffy about it being a website (I didn't show them what it was just said it was from sears.com) and asked me howmuch it was I said the sale price was $7.99 (still not telling them the item or regular price) and then he said they don't match websites.
Meijer also said they did not have a written copy of their price match policy and I cannot find it online.
I called every sears in the area and they said they don't carry it. :( I have been wanting this so bad but not for more than $30!

It happens, you always know it's a possibility when a price seems to good to be true. I am still waiting on Sears to reply to my email.

I would think that they would 100% have to replace it with the item you ordered or refund your money. They should let you keep the stupid figure AND refund your money if they don't replace it.
I've been on the phone for 25 minutes, the first 15 I spend waiting for CSR to figure out how to get into her system. I could hear her TV in the backround, she must be working from home.

She finally located it and said it shipped today! Hopefully that will be in the box when I get it, and not a WWF figure!

That's great! I hope you do get the right thing this time. I still haven't gotten ANY emails from them other than my confirmation one. No response to the one I sent and no shipping confirmation :(

There is a link in the email to check the shipping status. It takes me to the UPS website but there is no tracking number provided so I can't track it. I wanted to see what was listed for the package weight.

Yes, they said a UPS driver will be out within 5-7 business days. Apparently UPS will arrive with a postage paid label and will affix this and then take it with them. UPS will make 3 attempts to pick up.

So I call back and try to place the order and the other lady says she can't do it because the item number is coming up as invalid so they can't replace the order. I ask if they can put a note on the account or anything or of course the answer was no. What did you do or say to get them to reorder it for you? I don't know what to do now!!!

I think I was the first one to get my box(wwe figure) the distribution center is in the same state as I am. I imagine the reason they say they are sending me another is b/c I called really early in the game. I would guess they have caught on by now.

Guess what I got? Thats right, the ref for the wrestlers! They have the same item number as the chairs do.........she said the vendor would contact me directly.......

The person I spoke to told me the same thing. Either UPS will pick it up or bring it to the store for a refund.
I also called Sears corporate customer relations and filed a complaint.
Like that's gonna do a lot of good.

swalesfcc 11-2-2007, 2:39 PM Just got my two wrestling figures! I called and spoke to a man who said that ups will pick up the box with in 24 - 72 hours and that the right item will be sent out. I also sent one to my sister in law in Mass., I will have to wait until her package arrives and then call back assuming that it will be a wrestling figure she will get. The man said that there was a problem with the bin number and people were getting the wrong item. He did not say anything about it being out of stock. I asked if the Thomas chair would be sent out in its place (two of them) and he said yes. I will have to wait it out and see.
They have 109 of them reserved, 0 in stock........Im on hold again, I called this number this time 1-800-549-4505.
He told me to go to a sears store and return the WWE figure, to see if the store has the chair in stock. If they do not, call them back on Friday to see if I can get the chair...........

I also got my 2 wrestling figures yesterday. I called sears and the man said that USP would pick up today and that I would receive my refund credit once they receive the package. He said that the Thomas item was not in stock so they would send me out a $25 credit voucher for the inconvenience. We'll see....

(I also received wrestlers) They said they didn't have them in stock and that they would give me a 10% discount on anything else I wanted to order. I told my husband to tell them I didn't want anything else and to just see if they would put it on backorder. He said they can't do that and to call next week and see if they have it in and order it then. My husband asked about getting it for the price we ordered it for and he said yes plus an extra 10% off. Yeah. Right. They'll either never get them in or want to charge full price.
There is always a chance of this happening, but this is my SECOND online order within a few months from them that's been screwed up. The first one wasn't even anything special or a big seller, so I'm kind of irritated with them at the moment....lol...not that it matters though!
The UPS guy is supposed to be here today or Monday I guess. I don't have plans of sitting at home waiting on him though, so we'll see.

abh2007 11-5-2007, 1:02 PM I just got off the phone with them and the person I spoke with was going to send ups out here to pick up but then said to just keep it, and she put in for them to give me a refund. She said it was not worth it to send back. So I guess I'll just donate it or something. If my oldest son has a christmas xchange I might just send that. If they don't come pick it up....

I finally got my wrestling referee action figure today. I then called the sears customer service, where the lady wasn't even listening to me, I explained the entire situation to her, she then said can I have your order number, I gave it to her, she then replied with, "It shows here that your order has shipped" I said, yeah I know it shipped, I told you I ordered the Thomas wheels and sounds chair and got a wrestling action figure instead, she then tells me that I can just go ahead and keep the action figure, I said your not listening, I don't want the action figure, I want my Thomas chair, she then went on to tell me that they are out of stock yada yada, anyway I finally asked to talk to her supervisor.
Anyway, after what seemed like an eternity, her supervisor came on the phone, I explained it all to him again, he then tried telling me the chairs were close out items from last year and they won't be getting any more in, I said are you sure they were close outs or was it an error, and I explained about the item numbers being the same, so then he told me that he will file a report and look into it further and get back to me via email within the next 5 days. So basically I am not expecting anything but to get my money back and probably get to keep this stupid action figure which will either go to Toys for Tots or my daughters gift exchange at school. Big let down!

Now does that make sense to anyone else??? I just emailed back saying they had me totally confused and that I had ordered the item off of their site to begin with. I wish I had waited and not sent it when I was still in the middle of my "what the heck?" moment.

christib327 11-5-2007, 9:10 PM I kind of wondered the same thing. I know I'm not going to get the chair. Or any satisfaction at all for that matter. The reason I keep fighting them is because their customer service really is crap. There's really no logic to any of it. No one gets the same answers. It showed in stock when we all ordered and it was just a mistake on their part that they simply aren't willing to honor. If they would just flat out tell me that, I'd probably not feel so grouchy about it. Like I said in a previous post, this is my second time in about 3 months of dealing with their crappy customer service due to mistakes on THEIR part.

MandaJo111 11-5-2007, 11:21 PM I did not get in on the deal, but If I had suddenly gotten the wrong product, I would contact the BBB and report them for false advertising. I know several of us got print outs or screen shots of the page when it showed the Thomas chair for 7.99. You cannot bait customers with one products, sell it to them and then send them a completely different product. They HAD to have figured out the mistake at some point. When they did they should have notified the customers of the mistake and asked if they wanted to cancel the order or continue with the actual wrestling figure for the 7.99. Mistakes happen, I understand that, but you need to tell the customer not just sweep it under the rug.
here is what keeps this logic from functioning: they pay a fulfillment center. Sears did't mis-ship.... Still, not go practice. Having the reps give people different responses - even worse.
I got 2 figures. I am bummed, the chairs would have been perfect for the 2 little guys on my list. But, we knew it was too good to be true.
But, we knew it was too good to be true.
I haven't lost all hope yet, but I'm a very optimistic person:)

pottsie66 11-13-2007, 10:26 AM Customer service assured me I would receive the two loungers within five business days. It's been almost two weeks and so I called them. I was very polite and ended up speaking with a supervisor. First she told me that they had been recalled and that was why they could not ship them. I told her that was not true because the item was still being advertised on TV. Then she said the item must have been out of stock. I proceeded NICELY to tell her I did not feel that was the case because if an item is out of stock, would you not notify the customer and cancel the order instead of shipping a completely different item in its place??? I explained that I thought the BBB might be interested in this as a possible case of "bait and switch" - the supervisor couldn't get me off the phone fast enough then. She told me to donate the WWE figures, they would give me free shipping on my next order, and she could not discuss anything else with me about the Wheels and Whistles chair. I told the supervisor that I had already donated the WWE figures to a toy drive as the first customer service rep told me to keep them that Sears did not want them back. Guess what I had in my email waiting for me first thing this morning??? I have an email stating UPS will be at my house to pick up the two figures. Ummm, the figures are already donated. I better receive the credit I was promised for my original order because I have documentation of each phone call I made. I'm not very happy with the way Sears handled this situation. :no:

My BBB website had various locations including a Sears with no address listed as well as various stores in my area. I select the Sears with no address. My Minnesota BBB sent my complaint to the Illinoise BBB to continue on with the complaint. So I's assume it's been forwarded to headquarter.

swalesfcc 11-27-2007, 10:18 AM I had 2 orders ,, one going to Ma and one going to fla. One order was picked up by ups on Nov 8th and the other has yet to be picked up. I have not been credited anything as of yet. I called sears and someone is supposed to be calling me back with information about my refund. I can hardly wait to hear what they have to say. maritza68 11-27-2007, 1:31 PM My order was picked up on Nov 9th and as of today no credit back to my account. So I called Sears today and was told that my account shows that my return was not posted. She asked for a tracking number and I told her that I simply put the returned label on the box and UPS picked it up. She told that's probably the problem...the shipping label. She put me on hold and a few minutes later she told me that it has been found in the warehouse (what a miracle!!! whatever) and a credit will be posted in a few days...so we'll see.
swalesfcc 11-29-2007, 10:15 AM called sears about the refund on my two orders. They coud not credit my cc the tax. The computer would not let her do this for some reason. She left a note attached to my account for another department to figure out. My second order still has not been picked up even though I got an email stating ups would be there to pick it up yesterday. This has been a very bad experience with sears.com! Has anyone else had a problem with getting a full refund?
